  1. Is Medium.com still ranking for low comp keywords on it's own?
  2. I wrote a high quality 1000 word article (unique content) for a product that didn't have much competition at all (a newer product) and posted it to medium.com then sent it through ping-o-matic. It literally ranked #1 in google overnight.

  14. I wanted to be sure, so I doubled checked it in a new private window - it was still there. Then the next day it was no where to be found for it's keyword and it hasn't come back (it's been almost a week since then).
  15. I checked and it is still indexed in google. The same thing happened to two other articles that I posted on similar products on medium.com. I was trying this as I heard from several sources that medium.com is not only supposed to rank easily - but quickly as well.
  16. So, is that still the case? Do you guys use medium?
  17. Any thoughts / advice / help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!
  18. what is the ranking position for your keywords right now?
  19. This happens a lot when you post on authority websites. Just give it some time until google figures out what's the best position for your article.

  21. That;s very normal behavior.
  22. The end result will probably be cemented rankings in the 5-20 range.
  23. Thanks for your replies.
  24. what is the ranking position for your keywords right now?
  25. On the third page of search results and it's no where to be found. The results on the first two pages are relevant - yet on page 3 some of the page titles are:
  26. Managerial Accounting- Page 497 - Google Books Result
  27. The Electrical Review
  28. Electric Railway Review- Volume 15 - Page 621 - Google Books Result
  29. Completely irrelevant results are outranking my medium.com page.
  30. As it was said, it's just a typical behaviour of Google. I've done a bunch of Medium articles and every time I tracked their position the case was pretty much the same as yours. Just wait a bit, if the content is as good as you say, and the competition is not tough, you should easily rank within 1-2 pages.
  31. Recently, Google stubbornly does not want to take articles on the Medium in the top search.
  32. It seems that there is a filter niches, which can be promoted to the Google top using a Medium, and which are not.
  33. I'm trying to promote local offers - does not work. They all get stuck in 30+ positions.
  34. I still see medium in the search engine results on page 1. Building links to the page will probably help.
  35. Just wanted to update this thread:
  36. I just checked and now some other guy's medium.com article is ranking number 1. Here's the thing...
  37. His article was only published 3 days ago (mine was published last week) AND his article has around 700 words (mine has just over 1000 words), I checked his backlinks using the free ahrefs backlink checker and it says 0 backlinks to his article.
  38. So if my article was FIRST and has MORE CONTENT, why is his ranking and mine no where to be seen?
  39. I'm wondering if google penalizes pages when you ping them (like the first way google discovers the page is BECAUSE you pinged it, instead of organically).
  40. What do you guys think of all this?
  41. Quality? Relevance? LSI? Outbound link?
  42. You may like your article... but does Google? Perhaps the other one is simply better in G's eyes?
  43. you just need to be patient
  44. Ahrefs can't find all his backlinks or if he hide it (PBN).
  45. Ahrefs can't find all his backlinks or if he hide it (PBN).
  46. That's one thing I was wondering about. How fast is Ahrefs able to find backlinks? I was thinking he might have blasted it right away and ahrefs haven't picked them up yet.

  53. Click to expand...Do you really think that the length of the article has any importance at all? It doesn't. Do yourself a favour and stop listening to all these fucking clueless guru clowns who rank jack shit and are broke arse fuckers.
  54. To answer your original question, yes they seem to rank easy keywords piss easy. Try adding titles, videos, more images, authority outwards links (if you haven't already done so. Also work on LSI keywords.
  55. Is your on page seo correct? Check your competitors on page seo and see if you are missing anything. Check how many times they have mentioned the keyword also.
  56. Once you've done that, wait for a little bit. If its not back, you might have to add a few social signals.
  57. EDIT: this is assuming you have a quality article. If its shit, its not going to rank. Simple as.
