shogun_	hey guys, quick question: How many people here own an mp3 player(ipod,other brand) and how many people buy songs online, or do you rip from a cd or download for free?
	noravu	I own a Sansa Clip+. I either buy my music on-line, rip vinyls I own, or pirate it.
	noravu	If I ever pirate it, and I enjoy it enough to warrant paying for it, I'll buy it at some point.

	OzDave_imac	Never bought a cd in the lifetime they existed for myself, have so for presents. Never paid for a download, download most of my content online since 96 onwards

	shogun_	how do you feel about the artists? Do you think they should get paid one way or another? or music should be distributed freely in the internet?
	OzDave_imac	A couple of sneakernet drive swaps but most of my content isnt even in a store.
	noravu	Paying should be optional.
	noravu	I usually end up paying more if they allow you to pay as much as you like, like a lot of Bandcamp users do.
	OzDave_imac	I dont think about the artists, if i like the song I make sure everyone knows about, get bored in a few days and move on.

	OzDave_imac	I collect more remix variants then the original but its a rare thing the remix is better
	shogun_	but do you distribute your songs online? or you just download them? If you bought the CD would you rip it and create a torrent with the songs?
	OzDave_imac	never uploaded with torrents, bandwidth here was not conducive to that, now I have unlimited and dont seed.
