RACE FLUFF

The Angelic Host is a group of winged robots otherwise known as “angels”.  Though it is unknown who created them, they vehemently serve the orders of the one they call the “Creator” and seek to both enforce His order upon all denizens of the universe and eradicate those who they deem impure and beyond salvation.  They are led by YHVH, an immensely powerful supercomputer which holds sway over the robotic angels and dictates their activities.  It is said that YHVH contains the will of the being that created the Angels, although the actual creator has long since disappeared.

Some speculate that the Angelic Host visited Earth at one point and became the basis for the Abrahamic faiths there as they attempted to enforce their will across the planet.  Their flight gear was mistaken for wings and their halo-shaped energy collectors often gave off a bright, radiant light, giving rise to the traditional interpretation of the angels’ appearance.  However, at around 1500 AD the Angelic Host departed from Earth and went into dormancy on their homeworld of Paradiso.  Now, they have awoken from their long slumber and seek to cement the control of YHVH upon the multiverse once more.

As far as allies go, the many races that worship the Angels can be counted as such.  And for enemies, there are those Angels who rebelled against YHVH's control, instead following SATAN, another supercomputer.  These angels altered their appearance drastically into the mechanical beings known as demons, which scourge the universe.  The Angels are susceptible to large scale electromagnetic pulses, which temporarily disable the robots’ functionality.  Particularly strong and focused EMP attacks can fry the Angels’ circuits completely, although they have shielding to protect from more minor bursts.

Physiologically, as the Angels are not biological creatures, they do not require sustenance.  Instead they gather solar energy and radiation through the halos above their head and convert it into energy which fuels them.  They can survive in the vacuum of space and can endure extreme cold, although they can still be frozen by ice, melted in high heat environments, corrode away in acid, etc.  They also do not “age” in the biological sense, instead slowly breaking down if maintenance is not done on them.
The Angels are highly advanced, having the capability to warp using massive arks and possessing technology comparable to most other major spacefaring civilizations.  Most angels have intelligence on par with humans, although they lack the capability to feel complex emotions.
