  1. don't know if any of this is useful
  2.
  3. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/382569080
  4.
  5. 02:48:47 - you make a joke here about how you save and the door opens
  6. and it got me wondering: have you tried saving when a door starts
  7. opening (or closing, or when a door waits to open) and then restoring?
  8. it seems unlikely to me that this game keeps careful track of the
  9. exact openness/closedness/waitingness of its doors upon save/restore.
  10. in this level especially you might be able to save time via this
  11. mechanic. i don't know if save scumming is ok with officials in real
  12. GDQs though. also, i could easily see this causing doors to remain
  13. permanently sealed that you need to open later.
  14.
  15. 02:59:27 - previous video (or previous previous) you watched a guy hop
  16. around a room full of boxes until he clipped through the wall. you
  17. tried it in the starting room of some level but it didn't work. the
  18. one in that other person's video looked more like this one: smaller,
  19. etc. seems like you could exploit it even if it's not the same one.
  20. might be able to skip a lot of this level. for reference, the video
  21. i'm thinking of is here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/381997586 at
  22. 02:34:50. now that i look at it, i think you had the room right, but
  23. i have to wonder if the cramped area i'm talking about has a higher
  24. chance to get OOB.
  25.
  26. 03:00:46 - noticed this in conjunction with something i'll note in a
  27. second. i don't understand how damage works in this game. sometimes
  28. it seems like every quadrupedal and bipedal enemy takes five shots
  29. regardless of weapon, sometimes not. the former situation is part of
  30. why this game is so goddamn monotonous. the grenade launcher is a
  31. notable exception, usually killing guys in two shots. here, however,
  32. it takes three direct hits to kill. each time you fire, you are
  33. backpedaling.
  34.
  35. 03:01:39 - on the other hand, shotgun seems like it often takes five
  36. shots. this enemy and the four that follow, you are running forward
  37. when you fire, and quickly retreating just after many shots. all five
  38. enemies die after only three shots. not sure if it's something like
  39. mararthon punch or if it's just coincidence/really pseudorandom
  40. numbers.
