  ryujin's most prevalent trait is probably that she’s extremely hardworking. once she’s set her mind on something, there’s nothing she won’t do to achieve said thing. she’s driven and passionate, her dedication showing in the way she’d gotten herself into such a prestigious university despite not being the smartest or richest girl in her class. she’s someone who won’t hesitate to help someone if they ask her and sometimes she ends up biting more than she can chew. she doesn’t like being the center of attention and tends to blend in the shadows more often than not. the only time she’s really willing to be under the spotlight is whenever she’s playing tennis. she’s incredibly focused and determined whenever she’s playing and it’s the one thing that she absolutely enjoys above all. she’s generally pretty unemotional and likes to keep away from drama as much as possible. she’s a bit awkward to begin with and often stumbles over her words, but it’s not something that’s ever stopped her from working towards success. she’s got a fire within her that’ll never go out, no matter what obstacles life may hurl at her.

	ryujin didn’t exactly have the best living situation growing up. her family never had much and her parents were constantly busy trying to make a living enough for the four of them. kids at her school would bully her for all sorts of things ranging from how she was nothing short of unemotional to how she was too poor to even afford a complete uniform. sometimes the bullying would get to the point where violence got involved. her parents were never aware of the bullying. not that they probably would have cared, ryujin knew deep down. her parents were always too busy working while also pampering her older sister. make no mistake - she loves her sister mijoo to the moon and back, but the way her parents obviously favored the older hurt ryujin more than she’d like. she’d done her best for her family - always studying hard to get outstanding grades, training day in and day out to improve her tennis, and even worked several jobs to help her parents out. none of it mattered in the end.
	her sister was casted for a modelling job in the streets when ryujin was in her third year of high school. mijoo hasn’t gotten any solid jobs to earn enough money for the family, but that fact was always ignored by her parents. they showered her in love and praises anyway and neglected ryujin even further. she was the “family disgrace” after all. money was scarce but her parents were willing to give her sister anything she wanted. if ryujin were to ask for even the smallest of objects, her parents would argue with her about how she spent way too much money when she didn’t earn any (which wasn’t even true considering how she’d saved up enough money to buy herself a decent car all on her own). at this point, ryujin had just accepted that her parents would never approve of anything she does. so, she worked even harder. she’d prove them, her parents and everyone who ever said she was worth nothing, wrong in the end.
	thanks to countless all-nighters, probably several hundred gallons of coffee, and her sheer determination, ryujin managed to cop herself a full ride into one of the most prestigious universities in south korea: starship university.
