Reasoning: Thea has fought with her Kamui for as long as she could remember it's presence taking over her form. Countless people have been questioning the style of it and she hadn't cared. It's to the point where her blood is no longer needed to synch with its power.

However, it doesn't seem to be overwhelming different than she expected and has noticed that her battles were on a losing streak. Maybe she was looking to tap into a hidden power that may or may not be there. She just wasn't expecting her Kamui to be this behind everyone else.
