Yu-gi-oh 5ds my story 18

(The Kaibadome, and the area all around it, is bustling with excitement; the holographic screen high above the center of the arena reads 'Fortune Cup'.)
Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen! I know we're all still dazed from the third match, but it's almost time for our third! It's Yusei versus Shira!

(Backstage somewhere, Yusei's working on his runner and speaking with Tanner)
Yusei: Whaddaya know about this Shira?
Tanner: A coupla fellas I know had some run-ins with the guy a few years back, in the underground duels. According to them, he wasn't exactly a fan a' playin' nice. Back then, he was callin' himself the Shadow Reaper.

(Flashback. Shira was the guy standing in line at the opening ceremony with the black robes and orange flames on the shoulders.)
Tanner (VO): Apparently he never takes off those creepy robes a' his.
(End Flashback.)

Tanner: You plannin' on usin' Stardust Dragon?
(Yusei pauses, then looks away.)
Yusei: I'm saving Stardust for my duel against Jack. And when I face him, he's gonna wish he never gave it back to me.


(In the duel stadium, as Lezar approaches, in conversation with Yusei's impending opponent, Shira.)
Lezar: We need you to get Yusei as worked-up as possible so his mark appears. But don't expect this to be *easy*; that satellite knows what he's doing. In an off-the-record duel, he defeated Jack Atlas.
Shira: (not surprised) Huff, That doesn't matter, I will show this *Yusei* the world of darkness.
Lezar (startled): Ugh! Um, as I was saying, this boy's skill should not be taken lightly....
(They continue walking down the hallway as Hunter laughs)

(Out in the stadium, the crowd is makin' some noise for the next duel.)
Leo (to Dexter): Let's go get some cotton candy or something.
Dexter: The duel's about to start.
Yanagi: I can't wait to see Yusei duel!
Tanner: Hmm. (think) I wonder what Goodwin wants with Yusei and Cortez? First he lets 'im outta the Facility, then he invites 'im to this tournament. Just seems fishy...

Announcer: Alright, everybody, are you ready!! It's time for the Fortune Cup's first duel arena!(crowd cheers) He's the spunky punk trying to get from third to first class! He's the little satellite who could! Dueling fans, I give you-- Yusei!
(Yusei flies into the arena a few feet off the ground, out of a cloud of smoke. He lands quite smoothly and races onto the track, sparking at the wheels to turn to the side and brake. He looks up at the crowd, calm and serious, and can be seen on screen. The crowd boos and jeers)
- He's no good!
- Go back to the Satellite, loser!
- You're outta your league, slacker!
Leo: You go, Yusei!
Cortez: (thinks) You can do this, Yus.

Jack (think): Let's see if you can even make it past your first duel!

Announcer: Dueling him is the always-mysterious, Shadow Creeper himself-- Shira!
(Shira's appears out of the smoke like a localized piece of the Shadow Realm. He takes the second side of the field.)

- Don't let us down, Shira! Show that punk he's not welcome here!
- Yeah, put 'im in his place!
Leo: I don't get it! Why're these jerks putting down Yusei, they don't even *know* him!
Cortez: Let them be, Leo. He'll still win against who ever faces him

(Zigzix is ready with the D-Tector)
Zigzix: Okay-- let's see what you're made of, satellite!


Tanner: Time to see what this duelist is made of


Shira: Prepare to feel the chill of your bones.
Yusei: Let's do this!
Shira and Yusei: Let's duel (Both have 4000 lp)


Shira: go first mortal (draws) I summon the Headless Knight in attack mode
[Headless Knight 1450///]
Shira: Then I set a card face-down. Your move mortal.
Yusei: I'm up, then. (Draws and plays his draw) And I summon Speed Warrior in attack mode!
[Speed Warrior 900/400/2stars/wind]
Announcer: Looks like Yusei's not gonna waste *any time* getting on the offensive! Speed Warrior's attack points double during its summoning phase, so I'd bet my pompadour that we're about to see an attack!
Yusei: Speed Warrior! Strike 'im with Hyper-Sonic Slash!
Shira: Not for face mortal, I reveal Nightmare Wheel! (Speed Warrior suddenly gets cuffed in a wheel) This card traps your monster, making him useless!
Announcer: Wow! Talk about a turn of events! He saved his monster by trapping Yusei's speed warrior!

Yanagi: Well that didn't go out well planned
Dex: He must of prepared for this in case.
Leo: Bad idea for Yusei to rush ahead.
Cortez: I'm sure Yusei could of take a risk to let Speed Warrior to take the bait, rather than go for a full frontal assult



- Yeah that's the way
- Show that satellite what for


Yusei: Not bad, Shira. But it'll take more than that to spoke me. For now, I place two cards facedown and end my turn.
Shira: My turn then. I draw! Now you take five hundred points of damage!
(Yusei is now at 3500 lp)
Hunter: Now I'll release my Knight to summon, Earl Of Demise!
[Skull Vase 2000/700]
Hunter: Now Earl! Attack Speed Warrior! Dark Blade!
Yusei: Huuugh!
(Yusei lp: 2300)
Announcer: Yusei took a very powerful attack and is falling down low! Will he be able to come back
(Crowd)
- Yeah! kick his butt!
- Scare that Satellite out of this city!
Leo: Man, this guy is ruthless


Yusei: Aaagh!
Shira: Hahahahahahahaha! And I'm only getting started, I'll show you the real power of darkness. You'll be like the others that faced me before you!

Yanagi: He sure is scary
Tanner: Unfortunately, he's not done yet. He has other ways to strike the fears of many duelist.
Leo: Yusei who't be like the others
Cortez: He's right, he can turn this around, once he gets the right card.


Yusei (draws): I don't *scare* easily!
Shira: Mortal! I face the same duelist who was like you, but in the end, he saw the true horror!
Yusei: Well how about I be the first to show you this! I play Junk Synchron!
[Junk Synchron/1300/500/Warrior/Level 4/Dark/]
Shira: And what's this worthless piece of trash gonna to against the power of darkness!?
Yusei: Junk Synchron's special ability allows me summon another monster from my graveyard! So I'm bringing back-- Speed Warrior! And now I tune my Junk Synchron with my Speed Warrior-- to synchro-summon Junk Warrior!
(Junk Synchron turns into stars and swirls around, and Speed Warrior leaps into the air after them, rising through the three green rings, transforming into golden outlines. A huge beam of light bursts forth.)
Yusei: Let's rev it up!

Yusei's friends (except Cortez): All right!
Cortez: Now he can trash that wannabe necromancer.

Yusei: But before I attack, I activate Reinforce truth, so now I can summon, Nitro Synchron. Since the Nitro on my field is a level-two, Junk Warrior can absorb its attack points! It's go-time! (Junk Warrior destroyed Earl of demise)
Shira (3400 lp): Impressive for a mortal


Yanagi: He got rid of that spooky monster!
Leo: Yeah! He's got the moves to do it!
Tanner: Don't be so sure. Shira still has a card to put Yusei back to a corner. Just you wait til next turn.
(Scoreboard: Yusei 2400, ; Shira 2900,)

Announcer: Looks like Yusei just went back for a come back, but will that be enough to put Shira to defect? Let's find out, cause Shira could be getting started

Shira (Shira): Now I will make you respect the dead! Now you will feel the carnage if fear, for which you will never duel again!
Yusei: (thinks) Something tells me, he's about to give it all. (out loud) I'll set a card face-down, then end my turn.
Shira: Now feast your eyes on this! I summon Phantom Skyblader!
[Phantom Skyblader/1100]
Shira: And since it's summon, I can a summon Skyblader tokens to the field. (another look alike take the field)
[Skyblader Token/500/500/Fiend/L4]
Shira: And now with it's ability, I can deal you three hundred points for every Skyblader token on the field, so take this!
(Yusei takes a hit; he's down to 2100 lifepoints.)

Announcer: WOW! Shira has managed to nail Yusei for three hundred points of damage! But in doing so, just by summon another monster! Does he have another move to make?

Shira: I'm not done yet, I play Double Summon! So I summon Phantom King Hyride!
[Phantom King Hyride/1500/300/L3/Fiend]
Shira: Your not the only one that can synchro summon, Yusei! I tune Phantom King Hyride with Phantom Skyblader, to synchro summon! Dark Highlander!.
(The two monster floated to the air as like Yusei's junk Synchro was summoned, Hyride formed to three green rings, forming around Skyblader to shinning orbs, unleashing Dark Highlander, showing off a scythe like a grim reaper)
[Dark Highlander/2800/2300/Fiend/L8]
Yusei: Oh no!

Tanner: That's Shira's big ace. He's big news as he can blow off any hopes you have at winning.

(Dark Highlander shows off how fearsome it is just by looking close at it. The crowd seems to be scared of looking at the monster, imitating Death.

Announcer: Holy Smokes! That's a real monster! He's putting the fear of the field! Can Yusei stop that fiendish menace!? Or will he be like the other duelist that faced him

- That's the monster that scared me to death!
- Yusei has no chance now!
- Let's see you get outta this one now Satellite!?

(Jack is not happy about this at all.)
Jack: Unreal! This thing has to be the worse.

(leo, Dexter and Yanagi are looking real scared)
Leo: Whaooo..... No wonder people are afraid to duel again! Glad I didn't duel him.
Dexter: I..is Yusei gonna win this?!
Yanagi: I've seen scary things in my travel in my time, but never have I've seen this before!
Cortez (Is not looking scared): Yusei can pull through. I've seem him pull off many situations than this.
Tanner: Well he better think of something, or he'll be shaking off his booths.

Shira: Hahahahahahahahaha! Now Dark Highlander! Attack Junk Warrior! Dark Slash!
(Dark Highlander destroyed Junk Warrior, making Yusei lose 200 lp, to 2200 lp)
Yusei: Aaaagh
Shira: Now your hopeless. And the best part, you won't pull off another synchro summon while he's on the field. This will show you the heart of dark-
Yusei (interrupts) (from o.c.): I play my trap, Call of the Hunted!
Shira: What?!
Yusei: Now I summon Junk Warrior from the grave! And now I play my other trap, Urgent Tuning!
Shira: Didn't you get the memo, you can't synchro summon with my Highlander on the field.
Yusei: How about looking at checking the field, Shira and tell me what you see?
Shira: Huh?! (Shira looks at the field to check his monster and suddenly a fairy or angel with large, white, ghostly wings and long, teal pigtails appears somewhat weakening Dark Highlander): What is this!? What is that little *pixie* doing to my Highlander?!
Yusei: That little *pixie* is negating Highlander's ability.

(FB)
Yusei (o.c.): I send my Effect Veiler to the grave, the moment you summoned your *grim reaper* to the field, so I can understand it's effect on the field) (It shows Yusei sending effect Veiler to the grave, then it appeared behind Dark Highlander, using it's magic on him, making him feel weak)

(Flash Back Ends)

(Duel)
Yusei: Now with that out of the way, I tune my Nitro Synchron with my with my Junk Warrior to Sunchro summon, Nitor Warrior!
(Junk Warrior turns into a maze of golden outlines, punctuated by five glimmering stars, that line up in the center of two green rings, creating a tunnel of light.) Let's rev it up!
[Nitro Warrior/2800]

Announcer: Yusei has made a big come back on Dark Highlander! But can he truly win this in his next turn
Shira: You may of gotten through his ability, but don't think you won yet, I still have my Highlander, mortal!
Yusei: I think it's about time you stop playing, Mr tall dark and scary. Since I used my Nitro Synchron to synchro summon Nitro Warrior, I can draw a card. (he draws his card) It's my turn! I play the warrior returning alive! (Yusei Adds Junk Synchron back from the grave): I add Junk Synchron back to my hand. Now I play One for One. So now I can send a monster from my hand and then summon a level one monster from my deck. So come on out Sonic Chick.
[Sonic Chich/300/300]
Shira: Ha, what's that gonna accomplish anything, mortal?

Yanagi: Maybe he *isn't* thinking clearly!
Cortez: He is.
Dexter: What makes you say that?
Cortez: When you activate a spell card, Nitor warrior gains one thousand attack points.
Leo: *I* get it-- he's powering up Nitor Warrior!
Tanner: To end put out Dark Highlander.


Yusei: Now Nitro's special ability kicks in, and because I activated a spell card on my own turn, my Nitro Warrior gets hooked up with a thousand attack points!
Shira: What! But that's impossible!
Yusei: Nitro, attack with Dynamite Crunch!
(Big showdown between Highlander and Nitro; Nitro wins; Shira's down to 2400 lifepoints.)
Shira: I'll make you pay next turn, mortal!
Yusei: Not for long! You see, Shira, Because my Nitro Warrior destroyed your monster, he can switch another monster on your field, like your skyblader token, still on the field.
Shira: No! This can't be! I am one with the dark!
Yusei: How'bout cut the evil act and move on! Now attack!
(Nitro Warrior destories the Skyblader token, as it switched to attack mode, leaving Shira with no lp as ge fell to the floor)
Shira: Aaaah!
Announcer: Yusei is about to pull off a major come-from-behind victory!
Shira (wimpy voice): I lost


Leo: Yusei did it! I just knew he could do it!
Yanagi: That was incredible!
Cortez: Like I said, he'll pull of any victory

(Jack, up in the tower, does not look surprised, and merely nods)


(The Ener-D meter has not moved; Zigzix is scared.)
Zigzix: Ohhh...! Nothing!

(Tower)
Goodwin: Shira was too weak to bring out Yusei's Sign.
Lezar: At least Hunter was able to show us how Cortez Duel. Their next opponents should try *breaking* them instead of *bending* them! Ahahahahahahaha!
Jack (stands): This tournament isn't just about winning the chance to duel me, is it! What's *really* goin' on here?! What d'you need Yusei to help you *do* anyway! Matter of fact, why'd you even need that new stranger from nowhere I know about?
Goodwin: All in due time, Jack. All in due time.
