Roget AU Meeting Perry Part 1

Roget: SCENE: The rec room. Eriko and Renee have been talking about something. Probably stuff and junk. There was the sound of a helicoptor a while ago. There ain't anyone else around
[08:11am] Roget: And....ACTION
[08:11am] padri: They mighta been working on english lessons!
[08:12am] Alivi: They were.
[08:12am] padri: Ren doesn't worry too much about the helicopter. She never does.
[08:12am] Alivi: "So….did I pronouce it right?"
[08:13am] padri: "Yeah! You're much better at this than you give yourself credit for."
[08:13am] Roget: The smell of a cigar can be sniffed upon.
[08:14am] Alivi: "NoNo…not yet…"
[08:14am] padri: "Hm?"
[08:16am] Alivi: "What is it?"
[08:16am] Roget: It grows stronger.
[08:16am] padri: "Do you smell that?"
[08:16am] Alivi: Eriko nods, "What is it?"
[08:16am] padri: "Cigar, I think. . ."
[08:16am] Roget: Footsteps can be heard approaching from outside.
[08:17am] padri: "I'm not sure smoking's allowed inside . . ."
[08:19am] Roget: A medium hight, slightly pudgy man enters rec. He has a small pair of glasses perched on his nose, and is balding. His hair is black, turning grey. Resting on his chin is a small wispy beard. He wears a black turtleneck and jeans. On his feet are a pair of sandals. There is a cigar clenched in his teeth.
[08:19am] Roget: "Anyone know where the shitter is?"
[08:20am] padri: "Um. . ." Renee gets intimidated and can't tell him.
[08:21am] Roget: He chomps on his cigar. "Oh. Sorry ladies, didn't mean to offend."
[08:21am] Roget: "Might I ask who y'all are?"
[08:21am] padri: She looks to Eriko.
[08:22am] Alivi: Eriko looks back at Renee.
[08:22am] Alivi: "What is he saying?"
[08:22am] padri: "'Shitter' is the bathroom."
[08:23am] padri: ^whispered
[08:23am] Alivi: "Oh…. who is ya'll?"
[08:23am] Alivi: "Do we know him?"
[08:23am] padri: "Um . . . Renee Ryan?" She sounds shy.
[08:23am] Roget: The man nods, and exhales smoke from his cigar. "Nice to meetcha Ren-hay. Names Perry."
[08:24am] padri: She nods. "It's down the hall to your left."
[08:25am] Roget: "Thanks tuts. Hey, have you seen my brother around? Really just came down to see him."
[08:25am] Alivi: Eriko moves a bit behind Renee.
[08:26am] padri: Renee's shy, too. She's not quite comfortable being called tuts by a pudgy man with a cigar . . . She squirms. ~Eriko. . . Save me . . .~
[08:28am] Alivi: Eriko looks at Renee and takes a shaky breath, "Her name is Renee…. "
[08:29am] Alivi: "You need to work on pronocuiation… r is different than t sound..."
[08:30am] Roget: He blows smoke. "Sorry tuts. I have trouble with that sometimes." He walks into the room,
[08:31am] Roget: "Nice site ya got here."
[08:31am] padri: ~I thought he needed to visit the men's . . . ~
[08:31am] Alivi: "Re-nee…."
[08:31am] Alivi: "Not tots."
[08:33am] Roget: "S'an expresson sweetheart. You speaka english natively?"
[08:33am] padri: She smiles at the man. If Eriko can stand up for her, she can talk to him. "She's from Japan. And I'd rather be called Renee, if it's all the same to you. Who's your brother?"
[08:35am] Alivi: Eriko seems confused more by his sentences.
[08:36am] Roget: "Guy named Ralph. Loves the shit out of birds, and he's a doctor."
[08:36am] padri: ~Well, I guess that's the proof I need that they really do know each other . . . ~
[08:36am] padri: "He's off site. What brings you on site?"
[08:37am] padri: If he comes near Renee's personal space bubble (which is rather large,) tell me so she can freak out.
[08:38am] Roget: "Here to visit him. S'been awhile. Said he wanted to show me some of the sights and sounds of keter duty."
[08:38am] Roget: He puffs on the cigar.
[08:38am] padri: ". . . You have clearance to just show up?"
[08:39am] Roget: "Temporary clearance sweetie. S'a beautiful thing."
[08:40am] padri: She squirms. "Renee, please . . . " She's clearly uncomfortable.
[08:40am] Alivi: "Please Stop."
[08:40am] Alivi: "You are being very rude and Ralph will not be happy."
[08:40am] Roget: "...Sorry."
[08:40am] Roget: He looks embarrased.
[08:41am] Alivi: Eriko sighs.
[08:41am] padri: Renee stops fidgetting. But she could start again at any moment.
[08:41am] Roget: "So you two know my little brother?"
[08:41am] padri: She nods.
[08:41am] Alivi: "Yes."
[08:43am] Roget: "How do y'all know him? Friend? Associate? Bitter enemy?"
[08:44am] padri: "Friends." ~I'm friends with everyone.~
[08:44am] Alivi: "He is….someone special to us."
[08:44am] Alivi: "He is a part of our team."
[08:44am] padri: Ren nods.
[08:45am] Roget: "Special? Like friend special, or wearing a helmet and licking the window special?"
[08:46am] Alivi: Eriko sighs.
[08:46am] Alivi: "Renee…can we go?"
[08:46am] padri: She nods. "Okay."
[08:46am] Alivi: Eriko bows a bit to Perry.
[08:47am] Roget: "Hey...did I get your name?" points to Eriko.
[08:47am] Alivi: "Eriko..."
[08:48am] Roget: "Say that again?" He removes the cigar from his mouth.
[08:48am] padri: Renee's sticking close to Eriko, ready to follow her out.
[08:49am] Alivi: "Eriko….Ishikawa…"
[08:50am] Roget: "Are you...that one...from his letters?" He sounds a bit excited.
[08:51am] Alivi: "What?"
[08:53am] Alivi: She sounds confused
[08:53am] Roget: "You are!" He walks over and tries to grasp her hand. "Real nice to finally meetcha, I've heard a lot about you!"
[08:54am] Alivi: Eriko staggers back a bit.
[08:54am] Alivi: "W-What?!"
[08:55am] padri: Renee backs up out of the way. ~Don't touch me . . . ~
[08:55am] Roget: "You're that lady he always goes on about in his letters! Ralph's letters!" He's smiling widely.
[08:56am] Alivi: "I'm confused..."
[08:56am] padri: "Um . . ." ~I should intervene . . .~
[08:57am] Roget: "Ralph writes me about the site here, and he mentions you quite a bit."
[08:57am] Alivi: Eriko seems alarmed.
[08:57am] Alivi: "O-Oh..."
[08:57am] Alivi: ~Why is Ralph on leave now...~
[08:58am] Roget: He steps back and puffs on his cigar. "Real nice to meet you."
[08:59am] padri: She fidgets.
[08:59am] Alivi: Eriko tries to make a move towards the door.
[08:59am] Alivi: "S-Same..."
[08:59am] padri: Ren follows.
[09:00am] Roget: Perry follows. "Any word on when he'd get back?"
[09:01am] padri: "Um. . . It'll be a few days. . . I have to get back to work . . . "
[09:01am] Alivi: "No…" Eriko quickens her pace
[09:01am] Roget: "Well what kinda stuff do you work on around here? Looks like I have time to kill."
[09:01am] Roget: There is the sound of a helicoptor
[09:02am] padri: "Uh. . . Psychiatrist . . ."
[09:04am] Alivi: Eriko looks at Renee.
[09:04am] Roget: "Interestin'. Got any bat cases around here?"
[09:04am] Roget: The helicoptor gets a bit louder. Sounds like its on the roof.
[09:05am] Roget: Perry puffs on his cigar.
[09:05am] padri: "I couldn't tell you even if I did . . ."
[09:06am] Roget: "How come? Clearance and all that jazz?"
[09:06am] padri: "No. Confidentiality. I'm a /doctor./" That got her to stop sounding shy.
[09:07am] Alivi: Eriko rubs her arms.
[09:07am] Roget: "Ah. That sounds like something that bothers other people.
[09:08am] Roget: "
[09:08am] Roget: Puff Puff
[09:08am] padri: She looks at him all confused.
[09:09am] Alivi: "R-Renee..."
[09:09am] padri: She looks at Eriko.
[09:12am] Roget: Sounds like someone is coming this way...
[09:12am] Roget: Erikos phone vibrates.
[09:12am] padri: Ren turns to look at who's coming.
[09:13am] Alivi: Eriko looks at her phone
[09:13am] Roget: The footsteps are coming from around the corner.
[09:14am] Roget: It's a text from Ralph
[09:14am] Alivi: She reads it.
[09:15am] Roget: {Home early.}
[09:16am] Alivi: She replies {Help outside rec. Hurry.}
[09:17am] Roget: Ralph turns the corner and sees them. "Perry?"
[09:17am] padri: "Ralph!" Excited Renee!
[09:18am] Alivi: Eriko just nods at Ralph and tries to walk away
[09:19am] Roget: "Renee, what's going on?"
[09:19am] padri: "Umm . . . Your brother . . ." Uncomfortable Renee.
[09:19am] Roget: Perry walks towards Ralph. "Brother! It's been too long!"
[09:20am] Alivi: Eriko tries to wave Renee to follow
[09:21am] Roget: Ralph is uncomfortably hugged by Perry.
[09:21am] padri: She fidgets.
[09:21am] Roget: He watches them over Perrys shoulder and mouthes "Don't leave me alone with him."
[09:21am] padri: She doesn't go.
[09:22am] Roget: Perry continues his hug. "How've ya been? Eatin' fiber and fixin' people?"
[09:22am] Roget: Ralph just nods. He doesn't look happy.
[09:23am] padri: She doesn't know what to do. She's too uncomfortable to distract him for Ralph.
[09:23am] Alivi: Eriko hangs back she still seems uncomfortable.
[09:24am] Alivi: She can't leave Ralph....
[09:25am] Roget: Perry releases Ralph. "So, I met that dame, she seems nice."
[09:25am] Roget: Ralph pales a bit. "...Greeeat." He sounds weak.
[09:26am] NachtRuine joined the chat room.
[09:27am] Alivi: Eriko looks at Renee.
[09:29am] padri: Renee looks uncomfortable.
[09:30am] Roget: Ralph looks at them pleadingly as Perry bombards him with inane questions about life at 354
[09:31am] padri: "Um, Ralph, I wanted your help with a patient . . ."
[09:31am] NachtRuine: Zach comes into the general area of where these people are. He notices Perry and asks, "New guy or somethin'?" Zach is holding his blueprints and has a pencil on top of his ear.
[09:32am] Roget: Perry is momentarily distracted. "Hey there fella, names Perry. Perry Bushnell." He extends a hand.
[09:32am] Alivi: Eriko looks at Zach, "U-um…I dunno…." she looks pale.
[09:33am] NachtRuine: "Bushnell? That mean he's your brother or somethin' Ralph?" Zach notices Eriko's paleness and seems expectant of something. Of what, he's not sure.
[09:34am] Proto_Lost joined the chat room.
[09:34am] Roget: Ralph ducks away and quickly goes to Renee and Eriko. "We need to be somewhere else /now/." He sounds dead serious
[09:34am] Alivi: Eriko nods. She looks very upset.
[09:34am] padri: Renee looks rather uncomfortable. She nods at ralph and skedaddles.
[09:34am] Alivi: She goes with them
[09:35am] Roget: Ralph leads them to the cafe.
[09:35am] NachtRuine: Zach wonders why they've left.
[09:35am] padri: He'll find out soon enough.
[09:35am] Roget: Perry shakes Zachs hand and puffs his cigar. "So whats your story pardner?"
[09:36am] NachtRuine: "Ain't got a story. One that's got a good plot, anyway. The main character's a bit dull."
[09:36am] Alivi: Eriko seems to relax once she is in the cafeteria.
[09:37am] padri: Ren doesn't. Not yet.
[09:37am] Roget: Perry laughs. It's a low, deep laugh that ends with a coughing fit. When he recovers, he grabs his shoulder. "I like ya son. You're certainly a character."
[09:37am] Alivi: "R-ralph…what did he mean when he was talking about the letters?"
[09:37am] Roget: In cafe, Ralph faces Eriko and Renee. He looks scared. "Why is Perry here?"
[09:37am] NachtRuine: "Are we still on the plot metaphor? Tell me if we are, I'm not good with noticing when they end."
[09:38am] Alivi: "He said he was visiting you..."
[09:38am] padri: "He said he got temporary clearance . . ."
[09:38am] Alivi: Eriko nods.
[09:39am] Roget: "Oh my god.." He puts his hand over his face. "What has he done so far?"
[09:40am] padri: "Um. . . He just arrived . . ."
[09:40am] padri: He's clearly made Ren and Eriko uncomfortabl..
[09:40am] Alivi: "H-He can't speak English well…"
[09:40am] Roget: "That's a lot of time for Perry to do something. He always gets himself into trouble."
[09:41am] Roget: He turns to Eriko. "He's a little old Eriko, and his manner of speech is...interesting."
[09:41am] Roget: Back to Perry. "So son, what's your line o' work around here?"
[09:41am] Alivi: "He didnt call Renee the right name..."
[09:41am] padri: ". . . Yeah. . ."
[09:42am] Roget: "What did he call her?"(Ralph)
[09:42am] NachtRuine: "I'm a gunsmith. Ain't made much, but I'm alright."
[09:42am] Proto_Lost: Simon wanders in the halls, feeling very strange, but not by much.
[09:43am] Roget: "Well fancy that, sounds like an unusual profession for a place like this. Say, d'you know my brother Ralph?"
[09:43am] Alivi: "Tots..."
[09:43am] padri: " . . . 'tuts' and 'hun' and 'sweetheart' . . ."
[09:43am] padri: That clearly didn't make ren comfy.
[09:43am] Alivi: Eriko wishes she could hug Renee.
[09:44am] NachtRuine: "Fairly well. And it ain't all that unusual considerin' the job requiring specialties."
[09:44am] Roget: "Yeah...Perry is very, very friendly. Don't want to say anything else because he's family but...well, you met him."
[09:44am] Roget: "Really now? What'dya think of him, pray tell?"
[09:45am] NachtRuine: "He's alright. A touch annoying sometimes, but overall a good guy. Ain't got reason not to like him."
[09:47am] Proto_Lost: Simon decides to head to Rec for some company and people.
[09:47am] Alivi: "Ralph..."
[09:49am] Roget: "Well that's simply splendid. Marvelous even." Perry looks around. "Looks like the kid wandered off. I ought to look for him." He starts walking off, waving to Zach as he goes.
[09:49am] Roget: "I'm sorry. I never expected him to come here..."
[09:50am] padri: "How'd he get clearance anyway?"
[09:50am] NachtRuine: Zach seems a touch confused as he leaves. "How the hell did he get in here?" he mumbles under his breath as he sits down and starts his work.
[09:50am] Roget: "I don't know..."
[09:50am] Proto_Lost: Simon arrives at the rec room...who's in here?
[09:51am] NachtRuine: Zach is. Perry's just left.
[09:51am] Alivi: "R-ralph… why aren't you answering my question… what have you told him about me?"
[09:51am] Roget: "What?" He looks alarmed at this.
[09:52am] Alivi: "He was all excited kept talking about letters..."
[09:52am] Alivi: She looks very upset.
[09:52am] Proto_Lost: "Morning Zach."
[09:52am] Roget: "Oh...that. I just describe my life here to him, and you're...a part of that." He sounds like he picked his words very carefully
[09:53am] NachtRuine: "Hey. You meet Ralph's bro?"
[09:53am] padri: Renee looks at her knees. ~Not getting in the middle of this . . .~
[09:54am] Alivi: "O-Oh…Ok…" She takes out her cellphone {Simon where are you?}
[09:54am] Alivi: she sends the text
[09:54am] Roget: "Why, what did he tell you?" He sounds anxious now.
[09:55am] Proto_Lost: "What? What about him?" says Simon as he reaches for his PDA. {What's wrong?}
[09:55am] NachtRuine: "He's something. Doesn't seem like too much trouble, though. Maybe a bit enthusiastic."
[09:56am] Alivi: "He…said he heard a lot about me…and he was excited to meet me… and he tried to grab my hand..."
[09:56am] Proto_Lost: "Enthusiastic's good...I guess."
[09:56am] Roget: "Oh...we need to get Perry out of here. Before he can say-I mean do anything else."
[09:57am] NachtRuine: "Probably too enthusiastic. Wonder what the others think of him."
[09:57am] padri: She nods. "Mhm."
[09:57am] padri: ~If we don't, it's only a matter of time before he grabs me . . .~
[09:57am] Alivi: {There is a strange man on site. He is scary, please be careful}
[09:58am] Roget: "So...any ideas?"
[09:58am] Alivi: "I'm going to talk to Simon."
[09:59am] Proto_Lost: {Is this ralphs brother? he seems nice}
[09:59am] Alivi: {You met him?!}
[10:00am] padri: "I feel like we should talk to one of the directors. See what his clearance is."
[10:00am] Proto_Lost: {nope, zach told me about him}
[10:00am] Alivi: "Yes."
[10:01am] Alivi: {Then meet him and see for yourself.}
[10:01am] Roget: "He probably went through the proper channels. He's good about that."
[10:01am] padri: "Yeah, but we can find a loophole or something.
[10:01am] padri: "
[10:01am] padri: "Or at least find out when it expires."
[10:02am] Roget: Perry pokes his head into rec. "Sorry to trouble y'all, but I seem to be going in circles. I'm thinkin' I'll wait in here till they come back."
[10:02am] Roget: "He probably has temp clearance."
[10:02am] padri: "That's what he said. But how temporary."
[10:02am] NachtRuine: "Ain't no problem with me. Just don't make too much of a ruckus, tryin' to work on a schematic."
[10:03am] Proto_Lost: Simon looks at the newcomer. "I take it you're Ralph's brother then."
[10:03am] Roget: "Probably a few days..." Ralph sounds glum.
[10:03am] Roget: "Durn tootin'. Names Perry, and who might you be?"
[10:04am] padri: "We should /ask./"
[10:04am] Proto_Lost: "Simon Coterrell, Security and resident old bastard." He extends a hand in Perry's direction.
[10:05am] Roget: "I'm not talking to Perry if I can help it." ~I can't let him talk to Eriko again.~
[10:05am] padri: "Not ask Perry. Go as Corbette."
[10:05am] padri: "Or I'll ask Tam."
[10:05am] Roget: "The pleasure is all mine old timer." He shakes it with maybe a little too much force.
[10:06am] Roget: "I think that sounds like a plan."
[10:06am] Alivi: "I'm going to see if Zach needs saving…"
[10:06am] Roget: "No...we should stay here. Zach is tough."
[10:11am] Proto_Lost: Simon flinches a bit, and lets go. "So what bringss you here?"
[10:12am] Roget: "Seein' my little bro. Its been ages."
[10:12am] Alivi: "but..."
[10:12am] padri: "Someone needs to go talk to a director."
[10:12am] NachtRuine: "I'm personally glad my family ain't visiting. Not like they can, anyway."
[10:13am] Roget: "Well shucks, that ain't right. Everyon' should be able to see some family. I'm the last family the little guy has left."
[10:14am] NachtRuine: "All my family is either in prison or should be in prison."
[10:14am] Roget: "Sounds like quite a pickle."
[10:14am] NachtRuine: "You certainly got that right." He takes a swig of coffee that he had the entire time.
[10:15am] Roget: "Yes. Talk to a director."
[10:16am] Alivi: Eriko just nods. "I'm going to look for Simon..."
[10:16am] Proto_Lost: "My family is dead."
[10:17am] padri: "I think we should talk to Vang, he's in charge of the on base stuff . . ."
[10:17am] Roget: "Eriko please...I don't want Perry to frighten you."
[10:17am] Alivi: "I-I'll be fine..."
[10:17am] Alivi: Eriko seems to be hesitant to be around Ralph as well as Perry.
[10:18am] Alivi: {Where are you?}She sends it to Simon.
[10:19am] Roget: "Please, come with us to Vang."
[10:27am] Roget: Perry puffs his cigar
[10:27am] Roget: puff puff puff
[10:31am] Roget: AND THEN IT WAS ENDED BY DECREE
[10:32am] Roget: THE SITE NUKE WENT OFF AND EVERYONE DIED AND THIS UNIVERSE EXPLODED
