- A thing like this could no longer be postponed.
- Considering that the looming threat of war escalating even further, and the possibility of his pre-emptive death were becoming more and more real with each passing day, Arthur realized that he had to hurry in order to make his dream come true - and that dream was to change how Necromancy works on its very fundamental level, forever.
- Among such things, this step was necessary.
- "Bei, if you could--"
- "I'll need you to assist me with mana supply to connect the Spire Shard and Morninglord's Dream to the construction in here. The runes are ready by now, so establishing a link shouldn't be hard."
- It's a good thing that Undead were there to construct the necessary slots and details about the Statue throughout all these years- though, working on the Heart itself was the task that would go towards magi of the Dawn, as providing mana powerful enough to establish connection was something only they could accomplish.
- With the Spirit Shards encased within samples of Soulsteel, thanks to Dylerun's work, it's only a matter of time until this project comes to life. Arthur only had to do the rest.
- "Are you ready for that?"
- (Arthur Rowan)
- And what is there to say about all that has happened? Considering the fact that Rea had been taken and Ithaca Blackwater had killed yet another vampiress...She had truly been lost for words. If the vampires were as strong as the one that she had faced, then she can only imagine what facing against someone like the leader would do for her, especially, since the last one was terribly, terribly strong as well. In the end though, the woman merely bites back on her own feelings- a grimace forming upon her features as she snaps out of her own thoughts.
- "Ah, right, of course."
- Pushing the effort by giving mana didn't seem to be too difficult. And considering that she's already a cosmic magi-....She must imagine that it would be a necessity for what Arthur desired to do. All in all though, the woman would have nodded as she extends a simple hand- brushing it forward as she speaks.
- "I'm ready."
- (Bei Rowan)
- It's easy to tell that something in Arthur snapped.
- He does not waste his time on random activities. He does not bother himself with things that bring joy or a way to have a good time. All that he bothers about is purging the Vampires from this continent - and completing the Project, to finally achieve something he's dreamed of. As for everything else? It almost doesn't even exist to him, not anymore.
- "Good."
- He climbs up the statue at the established ladder, closer to the Heart- as a matter of fact, the Statue was fairly gigantic, and the section that's made for Heart could fit at least a few people inside. Of course, that's to make sure the whole construction can properly fit, and therefore properly function.
- Slowly and carefully does he install 'The Morninglord's Dream', the coveted Gem that they managed to retrieve from the island; it's legendary properties were yet to be truly unsealed, and even when worked upon as quick as possible by the desperate Oscuri, already it managed to keep the souls of hundreds locked in eternal battle.
- One can only imagine how it would be able to keep the souls in this world, should it be properly charged. Perhaps, the magical rot is destined to disappear.
- "Was the Vampire you've slain of any high rank in their hierarchy?"
- He asks plainly, and yet his eyes remain focused while he works on installing the Gem. By now, it should be almost over- thanks to what Undead built and what Dylerun performed already, it's not that hard.
- (Arthur Rowan)
- Her fingertips drift towards the necklace around her being- her gaze flickering momentarily in nothing more than idle thought and wonder as she goes onward. "He was an active vampire- rather strong, due to the magics that he possessed....I'm uncertain if he was high-ranking." She adds, her lips pressing together as she continues. "I tried to get more information out of him, but instead, he rushed me into ending his life." It is a harsh reality for people like the lot of them...But she's glad that she was able to get some type of revenge for the fall of Rea. Now...If only she could capture more vampires.
- "Apparently, Ithaca also gave Gideon another high-ranking vampire to experiment on. I believe, mhh, she was frozen to death. I think it was, mmn, Coraline." But with different hair for whatever reason....In the end though, the woman simply shrugs. "I assume that the two vampires we possess will already be enough for what it is that you want. But...I was also interested in getting a blacksmith to make something for me out of one. Considering the fact that I'm constantly close to them, I'll need defensive measures."
- The call to her star is made...And soon, she begins channeling her own mana into the structure- her frown beginning to deepen. "In the fight, I've learned that I underestimated the vampires. He nearly bested me, but when he got back up, I learned.." A lot more than what one would have imagined. Now, all she needs is more defense. All she needs is to become a little more strong.
- "I just need more power."
- To protect her people, to give them life. No matter the costs.
- (Bei Rowan)
- With the Gem installed, now it was only the matter of completing the Spire Shard on top of the centrifuge as per construction draft, and then funnelling the power channelled from it towards the Gem. Of course, it was only a small thing that he had to do right now, and the bigger step was still waiting ahead of them, something that he must keep in mind.
- Working with the Spire Shard wasn't always that easy. There was always temptation to use it for many other things, but he knew that this would be worth more than anything else they've previously worked on. This would be the breakthrough that he dreamed so much about.
- "I know. I underestimated them too."
- "I battled against Lucien. He was too quick for me to catch. I almost died, as I remember- he almost had a grab on me, but, I slipped away through sheer luck."
- "The steep surface we fought on caused me to tumble down after a final blow. It's almost as if fate itself saved me, or else--"
- He pauses, but does not add anything. Surely, Bei figures what would happen if it wasn't for that stroke of luck; he would no longer be here, no longer with her, but yet another casualty on the battlefield.
- The silence grows, and he focuses on installing the Spire Shard - it snaps in a place, right above the Gem, and the centrifuge of Spirit Shards encased in Soulsteel seems to subtly begin to move; while the Gem was not activated yet, the Heart started to beat.
- "Seems to be working fine."
- "Begin channelling as much as possible between the Spire Shard and Gem. We must start it up properly. I'll correct your flow where necessary."
- (Arthur Rowan)
- "...I can only imagine the things that they'd do to you if they caught you." And even then, fathoming the thought was already so difficult. She'd rather die than hear about the news of Arthur and not be able to do a single thing about it. She knows for a fact that she'd be forced to attack the vampires again and again and again just to make things right. As of now though, the woman merely sighs silently- hands easing carefully.
- "Remember about the cards that I gave you when we were children?" she questions, her smile beginning to widen considerably. "How we spoke about death and despair-....Do you think that now that the death has passed, that things will only get better as time goes on?" She was truly curious, extremely so. After all, if her own divination had truly worked, then what more could she possibly do?
- In the end thought, the woman continues steadily-....The mana she puts forth is charged between the spire shard and the gem, purified by the pale light of Proxima, bolstered by her own raw strength. She makes certain to not introduce a drop of occultism and instead, prepare herself for all that he might ask.
- "If there's something that you could do with the vampires though, what might it be?"
- (Bei Rowan)
- He doesn't have to ponder too much as to what Vampires would do to him, should he be captured.
- As a matter of fact, swift death would be mercy. He can only imagine how much they would drain him of his blood, how they would carve so many things into him, how they would torture and wreck his body, day by day, only to eventually kill him in the most brutal way possible - and the most painful way possible, too.
- "Yes. I remember them. I still vividly remember everything we have done."
- "Things are bound to get better, Bei. Perhaps, not for us personally, but for the world as a whole."
- It's almost a shame how focused he became to constantly work on the projects of his own- but that determination and drive is what brings him to complete them. Nonetheless, his own mana is channelled through the word of the runes - influenced and fuelled by Arcane, powered beyond the measure that normal magi know, and the centrifuge spins even more, tothe point of establishing a clear connection between Obelisks and the Heart.
- The runes were already made, of course, but the fuel was lacking to make sure that runes begin their work. Though, considering the effort and time that was put into them? It's safe to say that this would last for aeons to come, perhaps even more. Besides, they could always recharge this, could they not?
- "Almost. Maintain the link. As for the Vampires--"
- "A lot. I want to do so many terrible things to them. It's all to prove a point, to show that the mankind can fight back against these monsters that impose themselves on us."
- "That humanity decides their own way."
- (Arthur Rowan)
- From the way that they spoke to Bei about Arthur, she knows that his death wouldn't be swift. She knows that they would plan to make every second of it as antagonizing as possible...Especially since they all seem so terribly intent on making matters worse. If only things didn't happen the way that they did-...If only vampires had not tried to force Valmasia out of the caverns and constantly attack their own, then these issues wouldn't be issues. It's trouble. It's troublesome, extremely so...
- And as of now, the woman can do nothing more than frown briefly...Keeping her concentration focused on the task at hand, but allowing her own thoughts to roam briefly with the past, present, and thoughts on the future. As of yet, the woman merely sighs...Maintaining the link and yet, "I understand." There are a lot of things that I'd do as well. I should have brought him to you alive but-...I got angry." A pause, her gaze narrowing into fine, cerulean slits.
- "He spoke of them killing me when they had the chance-...And I assume that well, I'm a rather 'hot topic' amongst the vampires." Considering Lucien and Rurik encountered her within the caverns and simply 'let' her go....She imagines that this would be painful for them now, especially since she took the life of Evarill. In the end though, the channeling continues...
- "This isn't a fight that we should be fighting alone. And although we can do it-....It might leave us exposed to the other nations that might attack us in the future." A frown. "I wish I could have someone promise me that more deaths wont occur but...I know that it isn't so.."
- (Bei Rowan)
- In reality, Arthur wasn't planning to fight this war alone. There are other things that he was doing, things that Bei is likely not really aware about, things that would certainly have a greater impact - and that is influencing others to take up their weapons against Vampires, to turn their minds and hearts against these vile creatures.
- Of course, it takes time for some to join, and not everyone does end up joining. It's a gamble, but drawing people into your army forcibly can only work for so much - after all, whenever he visits Crafthold, he can see it on everyone's faces just how everyone loathes the idea of Tragedy's rule.
- Yet, no one is strong enough to stop her.
- "It doesn't matter."
- "You've done what you had to do, and I'm glad that you did it. Vampires should not live."
- As for the Statue, with the channel of their combined mana, at last centrifuge began to work at its peak efficiency. Constantly spinning, the Spirit Shards would draw the power from Obelisks, further serving to amplify the effect on the soul. Encasing in Soulsteel only proved to serve as ways to enhance the effect.
- The Obelisks were humming, their power seeping into the Heart, into the centrifuge- each and every bit and piece of construction existing to solidify the powerful effects of the Gem, and turn it into positive force of keeping the soul sustained.
- Along with the Spire Shard, a detail that served as Divinity to mend the soul's magical rot into non-existence - the Undead with it could maintain a better visage, after all.
- "It's done."
- "Thank you for your help."
- (Arthur Rowan)
