- LARP Guidelines:
- 1. Victoria 2 is not a character based game - it is based around the concept of the state. Therefore the role you must play in this game is also not required to be around the character. At the very least, the role you must play is that of a nameless ambassador or representative of your country, who speaks with its voice. That said, if you want to roleplay as Bismarck himself, feel free!
- 2. You are not required to change your roleplay based on the changing of your countries governments. This happens a lot and would be a pain. Instead you may act with the general strategy that the state has over the years. (Or roleplay tyhe changing of governments, it's up to you how you do it!)
- 3. In RP there exists the concept of Out of Character and In Character. In game, you should generally be out of character and should indicate if you're stepping out. Outside of the game, such as in Discord, there's no requirement to remain in character. But lots of people prefer to!
- 4. The point of this game is not to win. The point of this game is to create experiences and enjoy them. Managing a decline can be fun, especially when you're playing a role. Don't rage or quit - a country can always come back. And being on the losing side can create very interesting situations, especially diplomatically.
- 5. Don't call out "fail rp" in game, just roll with it. If someone is ruining the experience, message a moderator who will handle it privately.
- 6. Use the text chat to announce things to all players. Unfortunately, victoria 2 does not save messages or allow scrolling, so extremely important announcements should also be crossposted into chat
- 7. Have fun with it! Make treaties between players, write propoganda posts, write newspapers, make unions, make cool sounding alliances. Go crazy. This is a very unique experience in Victoria 2 so push it to it's limits.
