Vivian is a spirit occupying a body originally designed to be the 'Doomseer', a ritualistic host to 'artificial minds' designed by a cult known as Vazura's Gravekin. These artificial minds were designed to briefly glimpse the Clockwork, being destroyed in the process and recreated by the cult's resident Architect. Through this process, the Gravekin learned much of fate's secrets, and sought to pluck at the red threads such that their ancient God, Vazura, could return. Vazura, a God of Order and Duty, sought to array the world's peoples into a highly structured society that would evince the best of them, and to restrict magic to only those most deserving—and most willing to sacrifice. Vazura's designs imagine a sprawling utopia of magi-tek, but one with little room for those without use or obedience. Vivian awoke in the ritual chamber of the Gravekin's underground compound, finding signs of an intense struggle, halls laden with blood, and much of the Cult's artifacts and personnel missing. Not remembering what left her in this state, Vivian has set out to follow the trail of whoever assailed the compound, hoping that they could illuminate some of the Cult's history... though, unbeknownst to her, the path ahead is thick with shadow.
