  1. Nate had been leaning back in his chair. As his head pointed upright, his unconscious body managed to balance his chair on two metal legs while his own legs were propped on the paper-strewn desk. His peaceful nap had been abruptly interrupted by the sheer, electronic beeping from his alarm clock. The red L.E.D. screen on the alarm clock itself flashed in Nate's face. His body jolted up in shock. The chair he had been sitting on at the time fell back on all four metallic legs with a loud thump. Nate leaned forward and smacked the alarm clock repeatedly, missing frequently, in a poor attempt to shut it off.

  3. Following the persistent beeping of the alarm clock came a sturdy knock on Nate's wooden apartment door. The person knocking had stated a package was waiting for Nate. He grumbled loudly,"Yea, yea, I'll be there in a second!" He brought his hand up and slapped down on the snooze button one last time. An almost peaceful silence grew until the person knocked on the door again. Nate, seemingly startled despite waking up to such an obnoxious noise, shouted in irritation,"I said in a second!"

  5. Once signing for the package, Nate slipped back into his messy apartment and tossed the small package onto the desk. The entire apartment was a mess, save the bedroom and bathroom. The living room had several boxes and packaging strewn about. The dinner table had several maps and lists tacked onto it. Nate withdrew his pocket knife and began opening the heavily taped package he had just received. In styrofoam covering and a plastic bag was his newly ordered Taser ECD. A wicked grin spread across his face as he fixed his gazed on his new present. Nate's infatuation with the taser quickly subsided, and he turned his head to the calender. Today was the day to strike. He had been preparing an entire week for this heist.

  8. In the previous week, Nate had been given an assignment to steal some valuable information from a target known as Lyla Rhee. She was an information broker who caught some dirty data on his employer. Nate was promised a hefty price for the information's return. This was his line of work. He was a thief by trade and a lawbreaker by heart. For the entire week, he had spent time gathering information on his target. Schedules, names, addresses, numbers, floor plans. Anything that could help him achieve his goal, he had it. Nate briskly walked over the schedule and mapping again before setting up his taser holster. He slipped over a black jacket and picked up his dufflebag. He smiled briefly to his reflection in the mirror,"Time to start the heist."

  15. Two hours had passed as Nate traveled throughout the Rossplain District and made his way slowly towards the center of it. Lyla Rhee's house was located there. He had already been aware of who he was dealing with. Lyla was not just a sod on the side of the street. She was a business owner and a good one at that. Of course, Nate was also not raiding a company building. Although the security would be above average, he would not need to worry about over-the-top countermeasures. He had hoped so, anyhow. Frequently he would exchange friendly nods to the other pedestrians. Once he had arrived at the address that was stated on a slip of paper, he pocketed it and briskly looked at the time. He was right on time. Lyla would be away from her home now.
