**Pokémon Red Any% Glitchless Tournament**

We are pleased to announce a Pokémon Red Any% Glitchless (No IT) tournament! Following the success and popularity of the 2017 and 2019 tournaments, we will commence with another next month!

All player skill levels are welcome and seeding will be done by the PB you have on Speedrun.com when sign-ups close.

The tournament format will be 3-person races, with the winner of each race going through to the next round as well as the fastest 2nd place times in each round. Full details will be explained at a later date. Please join the Discord for more updates to follow.

We will stream each race on one of SpeedGaming's channels with commentary for every race, so even if you don't wish to take part then you can still get involved. We look forward to having you join us and wish you the best of luck!

**Tournament format:**
Each round of the tournament has a 3-way race knock-out system.
When the number of tournament participants cannot be divided by 3, the highest seeded runner(s) will get a bye for round 1.
Each round, the winner of each race advances, as well as some of the best 2nd place race times. Any 3rd place will not advance.
The first round(s), the number of best race times that advance will be adjusted so that eventually we will end up with a Semi Finals round of 9 participants. From here, three 3-way races will be played where only each winner advances to the Finals.

Round 1 of the tournament is planned to kick off September 14th.

**Tournament seeding:**
Seeding will be done based on Speedrun.com personal best. Deadline for seeding is 31st August 23:00 UTC. The draw for the 3-way races will follow the next day on stream (time and channel determined later).
Participants will be placed over 3 pots in equal amounts.
Each race in round 1 involves a player from each pot, chosen at random during the initial seeding stream.
For all next rounds, the pot you get placed in will be determined by your race time in the previous round. This means that when you win a race, your eventual time still matters for later placement. Though, race winners will be placed higher than 2nd place finishes.
