- So stop me if you've heard this one before. A soldier, a ninja, and a knight walk into a military base.
- The ninja slaughters all the cannon fodder in his way in increasingly over-the-top ways, but is completely ineffective against anyone who actually matters.
- The soldier avoids all of the cannon fodder, but anyone who actually has a name, he fights.
- The knight steals everything that isn't bolted down with weather balloons in defiance of all sense and reason, starting with a Hind D on the helipad with the enemy's leader in it, and ending with a snowmobile with a very confused soldier and ninja on it.
- Welcome to Metal Gear, where the more audacious and ridiculous you are, the more likely your plan is to succeed. While I stayed short - not every day is a day to be Huge, as unfortunate as it may be - I walked around in defiance of all logic. I quite literally walked in the front door, and no one on the ground except Snake realized something was odd ... after attaching a balloon from the fulton system to the tail of Liquid Snake's Hind D, which disappeared through a portal and caused him to get stuck on the FOB out in the South Pacific.
- Along with a thousand cheerful cultists who kept him from absconding with any of the material on the platforms, and held him for my return.
- Among the other fun things stolen by me, just to make Snake continually go 'what the actual fuck is going on, Colonel': a tank, in the middle of its attack on him; a truck, after he'd gotten out of the back of it after having hidden inside it in a cardboard box; almost every member of Fox-Hound right before Snake landed his killing blow; the aforementioned snowmobile at the end of the game as Gray Fox and Snake were trying to escape imminent nuclear bombardment; and the Metal Gear Rex, piece by piece, starting with the cockpit while occupied by Revolver Ocelot.
- Also, no one had the faintest idea what the hell happened at the base, because the nuke that was launched DID go off and kill everyone who was left there. Fortunately, all that was left at the base were Genome Soldiers.
- After that... well, after removing the Foxdie nanites from Snake and curing his premature aging issue, Snake, Meryl, and Hal were given a ride back stateside and given the cliff's notes as to what happened. Even my cultists had trouble keeping Liquid from beating the snot out of Ocelot once he realized he'd been played, and I convinced the remaining former Fox-Hound members to sign up under me to work to undermine the Patriots. Including a fully healed Frank Jaeger, former cyborg ninja, once we stole his little sister under the very nose of the Patriots.
- I ended up tracking down and recruiting the man himself, Big Boss, shortly after Shadow Moses. I gave him a treatment that didn't technically de-age him so much as it gave him back the capabilities of a younger man, as well as dealing with the persistent aches and pains of aging. He mostly dealt with the logistics and long term planning, dealing with the operations to come, immensely complicating things in unpredictable as time went by; the incident with Big Shell a few years later saw them all making cameos in the appropriate places, for example, which screwed quite a bit with the Patriots' plans.
- Of course, every single time I popped up outside of the home-away-from-home that was the FOB made of oil platforms, I attracted all the worst attention. If I was trying to blend in, the Patriots would send SWAT teams as soon as they realized I was out and about. If I wasn't... military "drills" happened several times in several locations. And instead of Solid Snake getting blamed for the tanker sinking, it was me.
- Thanks, Obama. I mean, George Sears.
- Anyways, things still went similarly to the broad strokes, aside from the Big Shell showdown being a three-way fight between all three Snakes. And then once Solid and Liquid had punched Solidus, I popped in and attached a weather balloon to Solidus, who disappeared into a portal in front of a very, very confused Raiden.
- I cured Solidus' aging issue as well. He and Liquid bonded over how badly they got screwed over.
- The whole issue with the various PMCs fighting each other was shortcircuited pretty handily in between Solid Snake running around causing chaos in 2014, though, and with the rest of Fox-Hound coming out of hiding in order to confuse the hell out of everyone. Some guy named Drebin tried to add a new strain of Foxdie to Snake, but didn't expect to be interrupted by Liquid and Solidus double-teaming him out of nowhere before it could happen. At which point, everything became absolute chaos as all the sons of Big Boss took to the field and worked together for the first time.
- The Patriots never stood a chance.
