Poem: A living factory

A living factory
----------------

In a place surrounded by people
  There is a living factory

With a generator powered by organic material
  And an AI in charge of everything
    It produces all people need.

This AI is subservient
  Ask politely and you're set
    It will make you a product
      Free of charge and wonderful
  And it will be glad
    That you used it

It took many years
  For this AI to perfect its art
    Now all it makes
      What is it, but a masterpiece?

The factory outputs
  Yet another masterpiece
People experience it
  And are overjoyed!
    This is awesome!
      More! More!
  And they feed.
    Back, the generator on track.

The factory outputs

  "Hm, last one was better..."
    Feed it a bit less.

On and on, the cycle continues
  Years pass by
    The AI wants to move on
      Inside the living factory
        Sweat, blood, tears.
      "They are not supposed to be there"
        "How do I release it?"

The waste matter keeps accumulating
  It's everywhere now
    In each nook and cranny

Eventually tears and sweat touch the power lines
  And cause a short circuit
    And the production lines gets stck

People ask for more
  But the AI won't respond
    Weird, it's still there
      Why doesn't it work?

With a good smack to the belt
  The factory is alive yet again
But there is too much refuse
  "What to do?"
    The AI injects a little bit of sewage
      Into each and every product it makes

It works for some time
  But then people find out
    They interrogate the AI
  And decide to feed it
    Its own crap

The AI takes a good look
  At the data they sent
And finally it realizes
  Entropy took ahold of them

To prevent further damage
  The AI will shutdown
    There will not be a masterpiece
      Any time from now on

People try to resuscitate
  The unmoving AI
They even feed a delicacy
  But it won't respond

Desperate times call for desperate measures
  They enter the living factory
And they see a nightmare

The walls are covered in black goo
  It smells of nicotine
    Horribly.
It's a huge maze
  We'll have to create a map
    To navigate in this area
      You, go do that.

They come to a door
  And pull on the knob
Funnily enough
  It comes off
    With a stream of blood

All years with no maintenance
  Show greatly in this place
They come to the generator
  What's this rough material on it?
    Must have been produced on June 20th.

It's a huge maze for sure
  But people still haven't come back
    "Something is wrong"
      The survivors think that

As they come to the exit
  Something comes from the shadows

It's a solid body of unnamed shape
  They all look at it
    And cracks start to cover it
  As they gaze upon this object
    Cracks are growing bigger and more
      "It should've shattered long ago"
        "How's it holding up?"
  And only then do they realize
    When there is not enough space for the cracks to appear
      They will spread through the air
        Into them
          "So that's how others died, huh?"

The only person not to look at it
  Ran away
    And got out

The AI clearly was wrong
  It's not the Entropy that killed them
    But instead
      People's anticipation
        Towards their next masterpiece
  But if you don't create more
    You get fed no more.

The only survivor tells the tale
  To everyone
To commemorate the living factory
  They cremate it and remove all debris
    Burying it in ground for nature to break it down

Where the living factory stood on
  There is a grave of a man
    Who was cherished by everyone
  Cause of death: Murder, burned out.
