  1. <@Strength> Of course, Aidan-cub. Is there anything in particular you wished to know?
  2. <Aidan> I'm just, trying to get a feel for all of the tribes. So I guess... what sets you apart from the others.
  3. <Aidan> Why someone would join your tribe over another
  4. * Tanith laughs a little but lets Strength answer.
  5. * @Strength nods to Aidan. "It is very rare for one to join the Silver Fang Tribe. We are strong believers in keeping a clear lineage."
  6. * Aidan nods and listens
  7. <@Strength> The Silver Fangs are the First tribe. Leaders of the Garou Nation. The Spirits bow to us, and follow our words. We lead other into Battle, plan those battles and provide wise judges to the nation. To know us to to know the heart of Honor. Saddly, we have....fallen from our Grace somewhat. Many of my tribe cling to old ways, and to traditions that no longer suit the Nation or the
  8. <@Strength> war it fights. We are divided into Mighty houses, and one of them strives to change our ancient ways. From my understanding, Our Alpha served one of their Mightest Ahrouns.
  9. * Tanith watches as Strength talks, though he seems to be more interested in what Aidan has to say about it
  10. <@Strength> We Silver Fangs divide the Nation into three groups. The High Tribes, The War Tribes, and the Low Tribes. This has caused a great deal of friction that in light of the modern world is more harmful than not.
  11. * Tanner pays attention not asking questions at all
  12. * Squirrel leans into Tanner once more, relaxing as she listens to Aidan and Strength
  13. <@Strength> The High Tribes, are the Silver Fangs and the Shadow Lords. King and Advisor, if you will. The War Tribes are The Get of Fenris, The Fianna, The Black Furies, and the Red Talons. The Low Tribes, The Uktena, Windego, The Silent Striders, and of course the Bone Gnawers.
  14. <Tanner> Where are the glass walkers?
  15. <@Strength> They are...also a Low Tribe.
  16. <@Strength> I have seen this to be false by my own eyes, but I am only a metis, from a small House. My voice does not carry much weight.
  17. <Tanner> Sorry.. ::nods::
  18. <Honey> ( *assassinates Strength as he insults the pure ones* )
  19. * Aidan just nods, listening. "I can see why that would cause some friction with the other tribes"
  20. * @Strength nods. "There is a great deal that my Tribe must answer for, but at the same time, We must give our strength to the Nation as we are given many gifts to lead."
  21. <Tanith> "These are old ways of thinking, and with every generation the belief in them gets weaker. Some old tropes and assumptions about where people 'belong' still have influence over the way people think and behave, so you should at least keep them in mind even if they aren't set in stone."
  22. * @Strength nods. "Our Ancestors speak to us strongly. It is difficult to ignore them."
  23. <Tanner> I'm, still alive due to mine
  24. <Tanith> Your ancestors seem very powerfully attached to you.
  25. * Kifel emerges from the lower decks, pulling his tanktop down over his chest with his mohawk laying limp and damp over his scalp. He nods simply towards Strength and Tanith both leaning against the railing as he lit himself a cigarette.
  26. * Tanith nods to Kifel respectfully.
  27. <@Strength> Brother.
  28. * @Strength smiles and bows to Kifel
  29. <Tanner> Kifel-Rhya ::bows to him::
  30. * Squirrel nods to Kifel, a little uncertain but otherwise simply taking it easy
  31. * Kifel lightly inclines his head towards Strength in turn, then to Tanner and Tanith as well. "Brother, Tanner cub, Tanith."
  32. * Aidan nods
  33. <@Strength> Does this help you, Aidan-cub?
  34. <Aidan> It does, yes. Thank you
  35. <Aidan> are you willing to share your views on the other tribes?
  36. <@Strength> Of course. Here I can only speak for myself, however, and my own knowledge.
  37. <@Strength> Who would you like me to speak on?
  38. <Aidan> I understand. I'm curious to hear your views on all of the other tribes really
  39. * Tanith grins a bit brighter now like this is a great game.
  40. * Khirsyth (khirsyth@pcr33df6vs6v0a6-il38ww1yd1r0s3.cpe.net.cable.rogers.com) has joined #is.Upper.Deck
  41. <@Strength> Very well, I will start then with the Shadow Lords.
  42. * Aidan nods and settles in to listen again
  43. * Squirrel smiles softly at something
  44. <@Strength> I have meet both sides of this coin, and I respect them both, for different reasons. They are cunning advsaries, and shrewd Judges. Despite my enjoyment, and even friendship with some, I would not trust them with my secrets, but I would not be surprised if they used them against me for the good of the Nation.
  45. * Tanner stands as he bows to Strength his stomach growling "Strength Rhya.. I hate to go but I've not eaten since before training and my body is telling me to eat now . May I be excused?"
  46. <@Strength> Of course, Tanner-cub
  47. * Tanner bows again as he begins heading below deck
  48. * Tanith smiles and shrugs his little shoulders, clearly not offended in the slightest by Strength's view of his tribe.
  49. <@Strength> The Get of Fenris are warriors, pure and simple, but do not mistake that for a lack of guile. It is a foolish warror who shows all of his strength all the time, and battles are often lost and won before weapons are ever drawn.
  50. * Squirrel gets up with a stretch, nodding to everyone and heading downstairs as well.
  51. <@Strength> The Fianna are the Heart and Spirit of the Nation, calling us to celebrate and remember our noble deeds. It is hard not to like them, but there is a time and place for such...frivolity.
  52. * Kifel eyes Strength briefly with a small grin. Nodding to his words.
  53. * Aidan nods slightly, just listening for the time being
  54. * Khirsyth is now known as Argent
  55. * Argent steps up into the sun from below deck. He moves to one of the cooling pools and sits, stretching out and sighing contentedly. He smiles at the others present.
  56. * Aidan nods to Argent, though her focus is on Strength
  57. <@Strength> The Black Furies are another strong tribe of warriors. I do not alway agree with their focus, and how often it can lean into the affairs of humans, but I would never doubt their sincerity or valor.
  58. * Kifel nods lightly to Argent as he exhales smoke from his nose, idly rubbing his temples with his scabbed over fingers.
  59. * Kolya_Kosmanov (1345grimre@ael-1-031.myactv.net) has joined #is.Upper.Deck
  60. <@Strength> The Red Talons...A fierce and doomed tribe. That is all I will say about them.
  61. * SNB (SNB@228-645-259-103.mtco.com) has joined #is.Upper.Deck
  62. * Aidan nods a little at that
  63. * Echo_L{HS} (1345grimre@ael-1-031.myactv.net) Quit (Read error: Operation timed out)
  64. * Viktor makes his way up from the lower deck with a pari of guitar cases and a very small portable amp.
  65. * Ijaka (Ijaka@fq7-68-338-420-17.compute-1.amazonaws.com) has joined #is.Upper.Deck
  66. * Kifel nods towards Viktor, breathing in deeply on his cigarette.
  67. * Argent nods to Viktor as he stands up in the pool, having cooled off now. He makes his way to the ship's railing and sits on it.
  68. * Tanith smiles warmly to Viktor and gives him a small wave from his perch on the railing, he seems quite pleased with the company that is gathering.
  69. * Sweet` (Sweet`@72-480-84-597.lightspeed.tukrga.sbcglobal.net) has joined #is.Upper.Deck
  70. <@Strength> The Uktena. I have only known a few of these. One is my pack sister, and was originally my Alpha. They are a tribe of Mystics, like the Get are a tribe of Warriors. They were deeply wronged by us, but have worked to move past that, unlike their Brother Tribe, the Wendigo, who are fierce and bloody warriors, but are stuck into the hurts and past slights of their ancestors. I fear
  71. <@Strength> if they cannot join us in truth, they are as doomed as the Red Talons.
  72. * Viktor sets everything, laying the cases down on top of one another and then take the mandolin off his back, laying it on top of the cases.
  73. <@Strength> The Glass Walkers are a tribe that confounds me. I have no contact with the human society. I have no homid form. So a tribe that is so deeply emeshed in that conact, so much that they have changed their goals and even tribal idenity is something of a mystery to me. But my greatest friend and brother is a Glass Walker, and so through his actions do I judge his tribe.
  74. * Argent sits next to Tanith, also perching on the railing, and pokes the young Ragabash in the elbow.
  75. * Tanith hms and looks up to ARgent. "Yes Uncle?"
  76. <Argent> Hello.
  77. * Argent smiles.
  78. * Tanith smiles "Hello."
  79. <@Strength> The Silent Striders are often seen as wandering and disloyal trash, or bringers of Doom. I have discovered in my time here that they are intensily family focused, made all the more precious by the curse they have lived with for so long. a lesser people would have faded away into the sands. I admire their steel.
  80. * Aidan nods, mentally filing all the information away
  81. <@Strength> And lastly, the Bone Gnawers. Suriviors to the core. Maybe it is my upbringing as a metis, but I do not see them as many do. Again, a lesser tribe would have fallen to the Wrym. There is wisdom to be learned from them, but only if you treat them fairly, and with meaning. They know when they are being patronized and that is a failing of those who would treat with them.
  82. * SNB as if on cue, climbs up from the side of the boat, still wet from having had a conversation with the fish.
  83. * Aidan nods again "Thank you Strength of the Ancestors"
