  1. >space opera universe
  2. >stargate-y, use myth, theology, tied to racial groups
  3. >manipulation, willpower, identity as major themes
  4. >Molochian/Anakim + Jews as antagonists/big bads
  5. >Separation and definition, recovery of the galaxy from "Ur-Quan" overlord analogue
  6. this one was based entirely on this Savage Worlds Space Opera race I made for part of an RPG where mesoamericans and chinks were manipulated by dragon-like aliens until they had regressed into a primitive state, like in stargate

  10. My other writing project is to remake a short story I wrote for my GSCE english years back, called "More Than My Job's Worth"
  11. >Core theme: pride in work, having a place, being replaced
  12. >class definition, good and bad, merit
  13. >automation, workplace treatment, comparison to today's drones and golems
  14. >deep sea scifi with some mythology (tiamat)
  15. the story was about an underwater hotel that had been so automated only one janitor was left, and when the automation goes wrong he sacrifices his life to save the holidaymakers even they're all richfags who bullied him, the end act takes place in a submarine where he has to fight off a richfag who tries to kill him to escape, instead of trying to get the macguffin back to the hotel to save the majority

  19. the last project I've written notes about is another old idea revamped, called The Martello in the Mist
  20. >psychological, lovecraftian
  21. >characters all have problems, injuries
  22. >theme of losing contact with the world/reality, then eachother
  23. >descent into madness, unclear finale (was it real? did they imagine it? did they really escape, or did they "escape" by suiciding?)
  24. >"sphere" style initially, scientifically explainable phenomena
  25. The setting was the Napoleonic Wars, some invalids from the army/militia/navy etc are sent to garrison a remote martello tower on a tiny outcropping in the north sea. They get to know eachother and each has some backstory and trauma which make them suspect witnesses. Wierd things happen, infestations of deep sea crabs and stuff, coinciding with mist. Eventually things start getting worse, the quartermaster's boat stops coming by to resupply them, the buoy that links them to the mainland disappears one night, they row out to the chain that held it and get spooked by a horror-mermaid etc. They die off one by one or go mad, lots of infighting etc, maybe at the end they get rescued or maybe they off themselves
