- Jump 228: Metroid
- >Temperance: The act of applying balanced spiritual and psychic forces to physical life.
- >Age: 21
- >Location: Zebes
- >Identity: NO DATA
- >Drawbacks: Ć̴҉̧ò͝҉͡ŗ̷̧̀r҉̢̡́u̵̶͘ṕ̴̡t҉̸i͏͢͡͞o̴ń̵̡͝, TUUUUUBES! (+100), Fire And Screams (+100), Remember Me? (+100), A Ravenous Abyss (+200), Delicious Candy (+200), Coveted (+300)
- I am a clean slate, aside from the PTSD and everyone who recognizes me and references the events in the PTSD. And a mild obsession with tubes. It's okay, though, I am actually pretty certain I can adapt tubes to do all kinds of stuff. Like putting someone in a tube full of bacta, or using tubes to shuttle around transit vehicles and raw materials and this glowing pudding which is absolutely delicious. It's just too bad that everything wants to kill me. The Federation doesn't approve of pudding, and the space pirates approve so hard that they want to take it all. Too bad I have almost none, but that's okay, I hear the pirates do. I must study it to enhance its flavor!
- >Total Choice Points: (2000)
- Oh, and I forgot to mention that there's another one of me out there, who's running around being an giant asshat. I mean, I don't think he's bothering with power armor, but that's because he's a fuck mothering vampire and is turning space pirate and Federation soldiers alike into monsters. I really hope Samus doesn't end up having to take him on.
- >Find My Way (Free, No Data)
- At least I've got a gut feeling as to where I need to go. Combine this with my other perks and I've now basically got an auto-FAQ. Where am I going? That way. Why? What will I find there? Oh, I see it all with clairvoyance. Old-and-busted-PTV ahoy.
- >Justice Will Prevail (Free, No Data)
- Diplomacy increased to INT͘E̕GĘR N҉OT̨ F̢OUN͏D̢.
- >Noise In The Void (1900, No Data)
- Man. Combine this with the abilities I've got from Creepypasta, and I really CAN hide in broad daylight in a crowd. Sweet.
- >To Touch The Stars (1600, No Data)
- This is not the reverse engineering shard, but it looks like it very well might be the next best thing. Sure, it might take a lot of time and effort, but I am a genius of hard work.
- >The Light of Aether (1300, No Data)
- Now this is what I'm interested in. A wholly different type of technology. I'll have to go find the Luminoth, assuming I CAN find the Luminoth, because there are experiments to run! I wonder if I can build a tube between universes?
- >One With The Galaxy (1200)
- No matter my body, I'll always have a soul and spiritual abilities will stay intact. No matter how overpowered my soul might be, it will never overwhelm me. Sure, this isn't a huge issue here, but elsewhere... who knows?
- >Part Of A Whole (600)
- I'm not so worried about changing my body (though it is inevitable). What I am concerned about is others getting their hands on it. Anyone who tries to clone me or manipulate my genetics will have a very bad time, unless I'm standing over their shoulder to guide them.
- >Assemble A Team (300)
- Well, of course I'm going to bring my companions along. Did you really expect otherwise? I have had to make a few sacrifices - they are why there's a dark mirror of me running about, turning space pirates into space vampires - but really, that can be dealt with.
- >Masked Identification Signal (Free, No Data)
- I actually don't think this is going to do any good since the Federation and the space pirates both want me (and probably prefer dead to alive), but hey, why not?
- >300 Choice Points converted to Suit Points
- >Total Suit Points: [1800]
- >What's Old Is New Again [1700]
- Doom. The Praetor Suit. I've used it quite a bit up to this point, and I'm pretty sure it will serve me well henceforth. And honestly, I can see it working as a power armor in Metroid - just replace Samus' helmet with the Doom helmet (they're even similar) and then get out the paint.
- >Life Support (Free)
- No extra energy tanks? That's okay, I can find my own.
- >Internal HUD (Free)
- ..I'm pretty sure I have a few of those already?
- >Suit Up [Free]
- After some deliberation, I found there was no point to paying for this. The free mode will suffice. If I am to have armor, I'm going to go all-in on a single suit rather than investing in multiple suits. I'm not Tony Stark, I'm not concerned about nursing my ego while I nurse a hangover.
- >Biosuit [1400]
- Instead, I went all-in on the biosuit. I'm not entirely certain what it means to have it seamlessly integrate with my biological form, unless it means that it basically will act as a second skin when in use. Which would be immensely helpful.
- >Power Insulation System [Free, No Data]
- If the suit is basically another part of me, then you'd better believe I'm going to make sure I am careful about how much energy I channel through it. I don't need to accidentally pull a Meltdowner and blow one of my arms off.
- >Nano Repair System [1300]
- Appearances are important, far more important than most would consider. Sure, this only repairs cosmetic damage, but I've got other means for that - this just handles the small stuff, like being covered in blood or oil or mud, and frankly that's more of a good thing than most people might think. I'm considering this Evercleansed on steroids.
- >Coffin System [1200]
- Being able to read nerve impulses sure sounds handy, but using my brain to move the suit no matter how crippled I otherwise am? Definitely a major improvement.
- >Energy Transfer Module [1000, No Data]
- Immunity to possession and corruption? Energy storage and transfer? Sounds pretty darn useful to me. Where did I leave those emeralds...
- >Light [700, No Data]
- Remember when I said to get out the paint? This is why. This would reskin to a lighter version, probably, but that's honestly not the worst thing I've ever heard. Actually, I expect it would look similar to the Orokin aesthetic. Hm, where did I leave that Syandana kit?
- >Legendary [100]
- Now then, let's combine everything else with this lovely modification. And let's take into consideration that this armor is now a part of me, that I can choose to make my body grow indefinitely at will, that I can be larger on the inside if I choose, that I can gain all the benefits of being a cyborg without any trouble biologically. And combine that with the fact that I can now seamlessly integrate any and all technology not only with myself with a bit of work, but explicitly with this armor.
- >Arm Cannon System [Free]
- >Power Beam [Free]
- Arm cannon, power beam? Reminds me an awful lot of a buster. I have a couple and I think I'll add them onto the armor here - most of the local weaponry won't have a lot of use elsewhere, and frankly, if I need to destroy something I already have the means to do so.
- >Scan Visor [Free]
- Scanning things, cataloging them, that's handy- wait, assemble a dossier with access to a network? I am pretty certain I've got some sort of instant planetwide internet connection I can add to this armor... perhaps not quite as good as the Intel Connection, but I'm sure it'll work just fine.
- >Dark Visor [0]
- Now then, seeing things that aren't necessarily HERE but can interact with local space... and seeing rifts and portals? All of my yes. Which means I have a target I can tune the portal gun to.
- >Thruster System [Free]
- Kind of useful, if I need to shift my momentum. If I don't feel like using the ability to fly at will, I mean.
- So I met Samus briefly. She seems cool aside from the part where she's trying to take me in for a bounty, so I kind of ran. She sort of threw her hands up in the air after a while and wandered off, saying something about not being paid enough for this shit and birds being insane. I'm not certain why.
- The space pirates and the Federation both started chasing me, so I gave them something to chase - I used the beaten-up frame of what's left of Sajuuk to start building spaceships until I felt I had enough empty shells to keep up appearances, and then the Nomad Fleet travelled throughout space, attracting attention and otherwise not really doing a whole lot. Whenever anyone tried to board any of the ships, they just found a bunch of tubes that go to nowhere. The entire ships ran on tubes and nothing but tubes.
- I built hyperspace engines out of tubes. I don't know how I did this. My brain hurts when I think about it too much.
- More importantly, though, there was a darker version of me. We met. We talked a lot, actually. Fighting one on one was kind of pointless because we both had multiple ways to survive death, though I arguably had more because I had warehouse access. The long and short of it is that he, as a mirror of me that's been chasing me through my jumps, is better than me because he at least embraced his dark side, whereas I decided to play God by turning to the side of angels.
- I shrugged at him, and then pointed out to him that I may be playing God, but just because the position is taken doesn't mean I can't put in an application for the job.
- And then I shoved him in a tube of pudding I mean phazon.
- And then when he dragged himself out, screaming bloody murder, I shoved him in a tube of kool-aid I mean Dip.
- And then when his inert corpse came out of THAT, I shoved it back in the phazon.
- And then when he respawned on a nearby planet, I dumped phazon on him from orbit.
- By the way, to answer the question everyone is wondering: Phazon is every bit as delicious as anti-corruption perks are important. Which is VERY. If only my companions would let me actually EAT it.
- mmm. delicious glowing pudding- no, no, give that back! IT TASTES LIKE MANDARIN ORANGE GELATO!
