  1. Sigismund cos Gardios says, "Well, er, forgive me for asking but I wanted to ask a favor of you."
  2.
  3. Myrine exclaims, "Sure, go ahead. It's fine!"
  4.
  5. Sigismund cos Gardios says, "A lesson in Holy Magic."
  6.
  7. Myrine exclaims, "Oh!"
  8.
  9. Myrine says, "Certainly."
  10.
  11. Sigismund cos Gardios says, "Julius started me of, but I'd like to learn from many other experienced Magi."
  12.
  13. The Keeper offered a nod, before clasping her hands in front of her and giving it some thought.
  14.
  15. "Well, what is holy magic to you, Sigismund?" She decided to begin with. It was the easiest way to start this off she figured.
  16. (Myrine)
  17.
  18. Julius crosses a leg over the other, quietly watching the lesson at hand.
  19. (Julius Domenico)
  20.
  21. Sigismund inclined his head in a grateful nod and took but a moment to collect his thoughts to answer.
  22.
  23. "Strength. All Magic is capable of protecting in the most obvious sense. You can burn your enemies with fire, you can douse those same fires with water provided you are stronger." And many other examples of such things.
  24.
  25. However, to him there was a difference between strength and power. Most would say that it was the same thing and they wouldn't be incorrect.
  26.
  27. But he saw it differently.
  28.
  29. "It's strength to protect. Specifically, one capable of aiding those that you care about and keeping them safe. The ability to heal. The ability to ward off evil. The ability to protect those you care about."
  30.
  31. He withdraws the small amulet that was given to him by Julius and channels his emotions and mana into it, producing a small golden glow. It may be weak- nary a spark in comparison to thepowers he and the rest of those of the Faith wielded.
  32.
  33. But to Sigismund, it was a sign of his progress.
  34.
  35. His composure breaks for a moment, showing that while he did try to make himself appear more serious and stoic as benefiting both his Nobility and will to become a Knight, he was still a child.
  36.
  37. "...I just want to keep my family, Aris, Julius and everyone else in this city safe..."
  38.
  39. Especially with how the Ebonblooded were becoming more and more a threat.
  40. (Sigismund cos Gardios)
  41.
  42. The Crown's Guard listened attentively to the Squire's attempt to describe what holy magic was to them specifically, Myrine nodding every so often to show she was still paying attention. A pleased smile crossed her lips.
  43.
  44. "You're right, in that holy magic is typically linked to protection, whether it's an ideal, an object or even a person. But you also have to keep in mind that holy magic comes from the angels directly, and to me there's no higher form of showing one's heart than by utilizing holy magic," She explained, that smile not wavering in the slightest.
  45.
  46. Now she took a few steps closer!
  47.
  48. "But there's also something else. Holy magic allows you to be the light within the darkness, a bulwark of defense unlike anything else. You need to have a strong resolve against injustice. Against anything which threatens that which you find important enough to protect," Myrine went on further to explain. It was the same thing that Merlin had told her and it was certainly nothing she'd ever forget anytime soon.
  49. (Myrine)
  50.
  51. Marcius has sent out a message...
  52.
  53. The young Gardios's eyes widened. Of course, he almost- no, he possible forgot about it. Holy Magic was directly linked by the blessings of the Angels. While one capable of wielding it didn't necessarily mean that they were blessed by them directly, it meant that their heart was pure.
  54.
  55. He had to also keep in mind that such a thing could change. While the emotions for holy magic were positive, life could always break ones spirit and will to the point that even a holy magi would commit injustices.
  56.
  57. "A light within the darkness..." He parroted the words back to himself in a whisper, his mind flashing back to the events a year and some quarter months ago.
  58.
  59. He closed his eyes, inhaling.
  60.
  61. He'd open them a heartbeat later, his eyes determined and his posture stronger. He could feel a sense of warmth as his cosmic energies resonated with Phos's approval.
  62.
  63. "...Who taught you, Holy Magic, ma'am. If I may know, that is."
  64.
  65. As Myrine spoke and as Sigismund's determination rose, the glow of his amulet- or more specifically that green ore that Julius had lent him increased in intensity, as his feelings empowered his magical strength.
  66. (Sigismund cos Gardios)
  67.
  68. "Oh."
  69.
  70. It was easy to remember those who had earnestly assisted her on her path to where she was now, even just starting out. As Sigismund's power and mana flowed through that amulet and the glow grew just that much more, the Keeper nodded.
  71.
  72. "Eos' Champion, Merlin, as well as someone who is no longer with us," She responded. Micheal Lucio specifically, had helped teach her the fundamentals of the art. But then he had turned traitor and ended up dying. Myrine's smile was whisked away at the memory.
  73. (Myrine)
  74.
  75. Juliet Domenico exclaims, "Marcius!"
  76.
  77. Marcius asks, "'Ey. What's up?"
  78.
  79. The young Squire visibly winced at that. Ah, he may have opened up an old wound. Or perhaps just reminded Myrine of something unpleasant when he saw the smile fade from her. In all honesty, he didn't know what he was expecting.
  80.
  81. She didn't seem that much younger than his cousins, but he should not have assumed.
  82.
  83. "I am sure he is resting well in Avalon." Where else would such a revered man be but there after his death? Still, he needed to work on his tact. Or at least not to pose such questions even if he was curious.
  84.
  85. He glanced down at the amulet in his hands and readjusted his grip so that he wasn't squeezing down too hard.
  86.
  87. "...My apologies, ma'am. Thank you for the lesson."
  88. (Sigismund cos Gardios)
  89.
  90. Myrine says, ".... No, no I don't believe he is."
  91.
  92. Myrine exclaims, "But it's quite alright!"
  93.
  94. Myrine says, "I'm glad I could be of any assistance."
