  1. Rules and Stuff.

  3. wєlcσmє tσ єstєllє!
  4. єstєllє is a high-fantasy roleplay incorporating elements of steampunk and, to a lesser degree, science fiction. While continents and kingdoms are defined, the virtual landscape in which all play occurs is very open. The word 'Estelle' actually refers to the realm in which we write, our Earth, that has to some extent been given a template to better orient the RPer. Beyond that, I like to think of this world as 'open.' There is no underlying plot that directs characters, but a shared history that is acknowledged, giving life to the past that breathes life into modern-day interaction.
  5. In short, you create your own plots that are driven by character connections. While I do make an effort to give you the option to go on quests and earn RP-currency as a part of the Lunar Torc Guild (as all members are guild-members or potential guild-members unless otherwise specified), your travels are essentially your own. You can even make your own quests and earn your own money at your leisure. What does or does not happen for your character is entirely up to you. If you want to create connections with other players, similarly it is up to you to speak with them about a unifying story.

  7. ᴅɪsᴄʟᴀɪᴍᴇʀ: This roleplay is 18+, rated 'M' for Mature. If themes of sex, gore, racism, slavery, abuse (physical, sexual, emotional), cannibalism, and radical religion bother you? You probably shouldn't play here. We are a room that does not shy away from controversial writing discussion, and our characters may even engage in heinous acts. It is on you to set your boundaries. But AGAIN, if any of the aforementioned themes are triggering? I wouldn't make Estelle a go-to roleplay.

  10. oo. Estelle uses DISCORD as a primary means of communication among the admin staff and fellow members and the sharing of ideas also takes place through this medium. While the room may be present to post in on RPC, the bulk of the information about the roleplay can be found on Discord. If you do not have a Discord, I recommend it. It's not a requirement to join, but you will likely miss out on vital information if you do not have some means of communicating with other players.
  11. o1. Estelle is a drama-free roleplay zone! That means all personal drama is not to be discussed in the main discord chat OR the RPC room. I realize Discord is a place IC and OOC can get blurred, and many people operate perpetually in a semi-IC state... If something somebody says bothers you, approach them in DMs. Nobody is interested in public fights and I will strike for this.
  12. o2. The strike system is a one-two-done base. You get two chances - if you break in any major way the rules in this list or commit actions viewed as intolerant or extremely-out-of-bounds but are not specified, you get a strike. Do it twice? You're done. Warnings are different than strikes - but if you accumulate too many warnings in a short period of time, I will give you a strike. I try to be a kind person, and am perhaps too lenient at times... but if you find a way to earn yourself two strikes, I'm kicking you.
  13. a) It should be noted that I will listen to the offending side of the story, as well. Innocent until proven guilty, and all that. Strikes can be dropped to warnings if I feel the act committed is something that has room for discussion or may be a misunderstanding. However, the admin's word on this is FINAL. If I deem it a strike after negotiations, it is a strike. If you don't like it, you're free to leave.
  14. o3. We are a room in which IC racism and hate-crimes are completely expected. There is a lot of tension between the races of Estelle. However, I do not in ANY WAY tolerate blatant racism or any other form of attack on a person based on their gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or other factors essential to one's identity. I will not stand for it. If I see it said, or it's logged, I will not even ask before kicking you from the server/roleplay. If it is reported, I will follow up with the offender about this and go back through conversation myself if need be.
  15. o4. IC isn't OOC. That is to be stressed. I find that people can easily blur this in a Discord setting; you have to remember that in these situations, it is better to stop and think before reacting. Is the character saying this, or is the typist? And in writing, it should also be noted that a typist's feelings DO NOT in any way reflect their character's. People get this confused often. If this is the case, please deal with it yourselves. Unless you feel there are grounds to claim personal attack, do not bring these instances to the moderators or admin.
  16. o5. You may be curious as to why I've chosen Estelle's set-up to be so loose. In truth? I get tired of having obligations to roleplay partners to meet plot or partake in events. It gets demanding, and I'm a busy person. Estelle was originally a small roleplay between friends that interest caught and spread in. It's still rather small. I have many an obligation. If you aren't bound to a plot and events, you are free to do as you please and move at your own pace. I've never been a fan of leading people to water and forcing them to drink it. It works for nobody. Take initiative if you want results.
