  1. Before Issue
  2.
  3. I was attempting to download an app I just bought from the microsoft store (wouldn't have considered it, but it's only available there.), but it threw an error every time (0x80073cf9) and refused to install the product.
  4. -After searching around and trying the potential fixes, I decided to do an in-place upgrade of Win10, since i had a couple of other bugs (bugged wifi system tray icon) that would probable be solved with one.
  5. -I downloaded Windows Media creation, downloaded & Mounted the ISO.
  6. -Before I began the upgrade, I decided to create a system restore point, in case windows decided to throw a fit. Then I began the upgrade. -Some time into the upgrade, i noticed it quit and hadn't restarted like I would've expected,
  7. -so I started the upgrade again (I wasn't paying attention to the upgrade, rather talking with friends in a discord until the update decided to take over).
  8. -Around 30 into that upgrade, my PC Restarted, and I sat back & played on my phone, assuming the upgrade was in full swing at this point.
  9. -After probably 30 minutes, I realized nothing was actually happening, and I was stuck in a bootloop

  12. After Issue/Troubleshooting Steps
  13.
  14. -I immediately attempted to boot into startup repair, but was unable to regardless of how many times i power cycled when the loading circle appeared. From a different computer, I downloaded the Windows Installation Media and created a brand new installation flash drive. After plugging it in and restarting the machine, it booted straight back into the boot loop.
  15. -After disconnecting my HDDs and managing to boot into the UEFI, I changed my boot order to prioritize flash drives over HDDs, reconnected my HDDs, and booted from my flash drive. Immediately upon booting, I am greeted with a dialogue box titled "Windows Setup", saying "It looks like you started an upgrade and booted from installation media. If you want to continue with the upgrade, remove the media from your PC and click Yes. If you want to perform a clean installation instead, click No." Clicking Yes sends me back to a boot loop, however clicking No allows me to get to the installation window, and then into the "repair your computer" screen.
  16. -I decided to make sure that my HDDs were still recognized in CMD prompt by checking a couple of directories in each, and also saw that the windows 10 installation ISO was still mounted.
  17. -After that, I attempted to use the "Startup repair" option, which I terminated after ~30 minutes, as it seemed to just be stagnating at the same loading screen "Attempting Repairs."
  18. -Finally, I decided to just revert to the system restore point I made before the upgrade, However upon clicking the System Restore option, I was informed that I'd never made a restore point on the machine. While I don't think I've made one before this point, I swear I made that one last night and watched it complete.
