Canterlot High Library

Upon entering the library, you look to the checkout counter for Twilight. But she's not there today.

You walk between the stacks and check the tables, but no sign of the girl anywhere.

As you look around again, your phone chirps. A message from Twilight

Twilight: Hey [Player]! I don't know if you're stopping by the library today, but something's come up.

Twilight: I could actually still use some help. Can you come by my house for a study session?

Twilight: I'm looking forward to it!

You've received Twilight's home address. You can visit her in the evenings.


The Sparkle Family House

Using the address Twilight gave you, it's rather easy to find your way to her home.

You knock on the door and are quickly greeted by a woman who bears a more than slight resemblance to Twilight.

???: Hello, how can I help you?

You introduce yourself, and the woman's face brightens up immediately.

???: Oh, you're [Player]? Our little Twily's told us about you! I'm Velvet, her mother.

The older woman's silver and purple hair swirls around her as she turns and walks inside.

Velvet: Please, come on inside. I'll let Twilight know you're here.

You follow Velvet into the wide open entryway. As you look around, Velvet disappears from sight.

A few seconds later, there's a loud trampling sound as Twilight hurries into the hall.

Twilight: [Player]! Hi!

She's clearly red faced from the sprint, wearing a smile that lights up the room.

Twilight: I'm so glad that you could come and see me.

Velvet comes back and stands beside her daughter, wearing a coy smirk.

Velvet: I was wondering when I would get a chance to meet your boyfriend, Twilight. He seems quite nice.

Twilight: He's not my boyfriend, Mom.

As Twilight rolls her eyes, Velvet's expression shifts to one of surprise.

Velvet: Oh? Then what exactly are you two?

>Option 1 - Twilight's study partner.

	Twilight smiles and bobs her head in agreement, while Velvet looks a little disappointed.

	Twilight: Right, [Player]'s been helping me prepare for the exam portion of the McGuffin Program requirements.

	Velvet: Oh, I see; well that's very nice of him.

	The older woman smiles politely and looks you over.

	Velvet: It's good to see that Twilight is spending time with her friends again. So, thank you for that, [Player].

	Leaning in a bit closer, so gives a loud, but conspiratorial whisper.

	Velvet: Make sure she stays out of trouble, OK?

>Option 2 - We're just friends.

	Velvet makes a disinterested sound, while Twilight averts her eyes.

	Velvet: Is that all? Honestly, I was hoping for something a little juicer than that.

	Twilight: Well, nothing like that going on here.

	Twilight gives a strained smile to her mother.

	Twilight: [Player] and I are just two friends spending time together.

	A smile smile works its way onto Velvet's face.

	Velvet: Well I guess I don't have to worry about any frisky business going on in your bedroom then.

>Option 3 - I'm the one who's going to win your daughter's heart.

	Twilight's eyes widen in shock, while Velvet clasps her hands in front of her and grins.

	Twilight: [Player], what are you-

	Velvet: Oh how exciting! I can see why you fell for him, Twilight; he's a charmer.

	Turning on her mother, Twilight shakes her head and tries to explain.

	Twilight: No, Mom, he's just-

	Velvet: No need to hide your feelings, dear, they're written all over those cute, blushing cheeks of yours.

	Velvet: Oh I can't wait to tell your father and brother; they're going to be so excited!

Twilight's jaw drops.

Twilight: MOM!

Looking thoroughly pleased with herself, Velvet places a hand on her daughter's back.

Velvet: Well, I won't keep you any longer. Have fun on your date and let me know if you need anything.

Twilight: It's not a date!

The girl sighs, and then leads you to her room.

Twilight: Sorry about that [Player], my Mom can be a little nosy at times. Thanks again for coming by tonight. Ready to get started?

Sitting down on the floor, she pulls out her materials and the two of you begin a review session.

The questions and responses are coming a little easier for the both of you now, and the result of Twilight's studying is really beginning to bear fruit.

Twilight: Eighteen out of twenty!

Twilight laughs, throwing her arms up in the air and letting loose a delighted laugh.

Twilight: It's such a relief to see improvement after so long.

Fixing you with a smile, she grabs your hand.

Twilight: Thank you, [Player], for all your help.

	Twilight grins and nods.

	Twilight: You're right, and I probably should have asked for help sooner.

	Twilight: Your persistence is really something, you know. I couldn't get rid of you even when I tried.

	Twilight ...But I've come to appreciate that about you.

	Twilight: Oh...

	Despite her best attempts to avert her eyes, Twilight continues to glance between you and her suddenly very interesting fingers.

	Twilight: Well, thanks, [Player].

	Twilight: That actually makes me really happy. Thank you.

>Option 3 - No big deal, happy to help.

	Twilight laughs.

	Twilight: I thought that you would say something like that, but it means a lot to me.

	Twilight: Spending time with you, it's been really nice.

	Twilight: I'm looking forward to being able to spend time with my friends again soon as well.

After taking a moment of silence, Twilight smiles.

Twilight: Hey [Player], I- I think I'm ready...

Twilight's breathing is heavy and labored as she looks at you with an excited but slightly fearful smile.

Twilight: I think I'm just about ready, to take the McGuffin exam.

Completely oblivious to what the previous statement might have implied, Twilight continues to glow with excitement.

Twilight: It would really mean a lot to me, if you came with me to the exam center; could I count on you for that?

You nod your head and Twilight sighs in relief.

Twilight: Great, thanks. Come by the library later; I'll let you know when I'm ready.
