I think it depends on the niche. Bodybuilding or new year party niche will drive crazy traffic IMO.
Everyone is out partying even those who don't do it normally on other days of the year. The traffic drop is pretty normal, no need to overthink it. It will correct itself soom.

People are out celebrating NYE, of course it's bound to drop. Generally it should start picking up again next week.
One of my stores are showing similar to Christmas day traffic. Nothing crazy slow but still a healthy number of sales.

Yes experiencing a 10% drop as well. Seems like there are lesser people on Christmas and New Year, and some of the Sundays also experience low traffic as well.
But November has an aweful number of Google updates - 6 to be exact! Which are too many. December also has some shopping update - I think these updates also somehow affected the traffic in the process. I think the reversal of the shopping update will happen anytime soon on Jan.
