- [22:43] Calael E. Kang says, "OK what."
- [22:44] Ethan Hawke says, "I've got a project I'm workin' on."
- [22:44] Ethan Hawke says, "I just need to know if it's possible, in theory."
- [22:44] Ethan Hawke says, "It involves stars, so I figured you'd know."
- [22:45] Calael E. Kang says, "Go on."
- [22:54] Ethan nodded before he walked over to the blackboard, picking up a piece of chalk near it and drawing a rather crude representation of what he was about to explain.
- "So, you know how the lighthouse tethers someone to a star so they remain alive or something? I don't really get that part - but the principle is what matters. I thought of a way that we could purify a Nethradin. It's... I think the theory makes sense and I've already got one willing to test it out.
- Since they're literally spirits that have been corrupted or what-you-will, sending them to a star won't kill them, it'll just cleanse them. Obviously if they stay too long they'll be reborn, but... With the right timing, if they're pulled out, they could live on as spirits, right? Without all that taint.
- I thought about using Wayfinding to send the Nethradin to a star and have a second point set in the commands topath them right back into the physical world when it's the right time. Of course, I know that Wayfinding alone won't be enough, so my idea is to bind them to my staff, which is connected to the spirit world at all times, and send them from there and then back into our world. It... probably will take away all of their magic for a while and leave them powerless. Destroy the sort-of body they've been given, you know? But with enough power - a spire shard - I could do the whole process and skip the waiting at the end part, yeah?
- Right now I think, according to what I've calculated, that the Nethradin would get their spirit purified and come back a bit like the spirit I've got in my staff already; weak and not at full power at all, better off living in a staff. But with a spire shard a proper form could be given— just like Sera's.
- .. Yeah?"

- [23:02] Cal assessed the diagram only for a second until Ethan mentioned sending spirits to stars. Almost instantly he shook his head, though he let the explanation continue on. There was something he had to correct.
- "Spirits don't go to stars." he said flatly.
- "Souls do, which is how they are purified, yes, but the soul and the spirit are two different entities. Consider it like..." Cal took the chalk and wrote on the other side of the board. There he outlined what looked like a stick figure.
- "This is you." he said, tapping it with the tip of his chalk. He then started drawing another, faded stick figure and then drew a line between the solid one and the faded one. "And this is you and your spirit. As you live and create memories, your spirit is being created in the Spirit World. Consider it a copy, if you will. While you are here, and your soul is here, when you did your body remains behind and your soul passes on to the next life via the stars and their cleansing. Your spirit remains in the Spirit Realm where it was created, and depending on how you lived, it goes to different layers of it. Helheim being the... worst, of course."
- Cal set the chalk down. "Nethradin are the spirits of the evil folks. Or spirits who are twisted and corrupted by the nethradin in the Spirit Realm. They'll have to be cleansed by the powers of the Spirit Realm, not the stars." The Starkeeper crossed his arms. "It's a good idea, but I don't think it's one any sort of cosmic power will help with."

- [23:10] Ethan listened to the explanation that was given for a few moments, nodding from time to time before he spoke up, trying to make sense out of it all.
- "Then the key to purifying them really is Wayfinding. Elisheva said it was possible, though I still can't figure it out. Since the stars are like huge masses of lifestream, essentially, do you think going through a sort of high-intensity-lifestream highway would do the trick?"
- He thought, pausing for a moment before picking up another bit of chalk, drawing a large tree, tapping at its roots.
- "If I send a Nethradin right up to Yggdrasil and have them come in contact with one of the roots it should cleanse them, right? Unless it'd take them completely away and make them turn into nothing more than mana to add to the lifestream..."
- In his head it made sense. Yggdrasil was good, the mother of all mana and the center of the spirit world. If anything could make a spirit 'normal', it would be it.

- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:18] "Maybe? I don't really think the stars will help either way. I would suggest perhaps creating some sort of... Spirit Realm thing here in this world. A fountain or a concentration of its power or something. You could talk to Thera about the mirrors, that's what I have set up here in the Lighthouse to bring memories back from the spirits to the living."
- Cal shrugged. "I'm not the one to ask. Ohtli and Thera would be able to help more."
- (Calael E. Kang)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:23] A few more moments of thought were given before he nodded, ultimately coming to a certain conclusion.
- "Having a second structure to purify stuff sounds sort of redundant. If anything getting the spirit world here is way more dangerous than getting them out there, then back here. It'd have to probably some place that's super dense with...
- ... I'm gonna say lifestream."
- (Ethan Hawke)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [23:24] Calael E. Kang says, "Maybe find a place in the Spirit Realm itself that could do it? I'm certain wardens can deal with nethradin somehow."
- [23:25] Ethan Hawke says, "Yeah."
- [23:26] Ethan Hawke asks, "... Do you know anyone who's been there a lot?"
- [23:26] Calael E. Kang says, "Thera."
- [23:26] Calael E. Kang says, "Ohtli."
- [23:26] Calael E. Kang says, "Malentine Invidia."
- [23:27] Ethan Hawke says, "... Alright. I'll figure something out."
- [23:27] Calael E. Kang asks, "Have you talked to my sister recently?"
- [23:28] Ethan Hawke asks, "Which one?"
- [23:28] Calael E. Kang says, "The one that lives here."
- [23:28] Calael E. Kang says, "She's been... sort of unhinged, from what I hear."
- [23:29] Ethan Hawke says, ".. Yeah."
- [23:29] Ethan Hawke says, "I had to speak to her. I tried calming her down."
- [23:29] Calael E. Kang asks, "And?"
- [23:29] Ethan Hawke says, "It worked, from what I could tell."
- [23:29] Ethan Hawke says, "She mellowed out."
- [23:30] Calael E. Kang says, "I see."
- [23:31] Ethan Hawke says, "Well, I should find someone who can help."
- [23:31] Calael E. Kang says, "Yeah I'll be around."
