  1. "A Morning Wind"
  2.
  3. With heart alight she made her flight,
  4. To greet him on each morn.
  5. A gentle breeze she flew with ease,
  6. Her manner soft and warm.
  7. Bird of feather 'twas a zephyr,
  8. To save him from the storm.
  9.
  10. Yet through each gale she did travail,
  11. With sorrow held inside.
  12. A lonely swan with sweetest song,
  13. But one she'd not confide.
  14. For in her pain was unknown shame,
  15. A pain he could not find.
  16.
  17. Until the dawn without a song,
  18. In which she could not cry.
  19. She only stared in lost despair,
  20. A stare without "Goodbye."
  21. And with clipped wing she did still sing,
  22. But in another sky.
  23.
  24. Yet there are mornings that he hears her,
  25. Still calling out his name,
  26. And though his search is desperate,
  27. He only hears her pain.
  28.
  29. His mornings are now silent,
  30. But why he'll never know.
  31. He'd wipe away her tears,
  32. Just to bring her home.
  33.
  34. There lost upon the mourning wind,
  35. Her memory lingers on.
  36. And though he cannot hold her hand,
  37. He'll always hear her song.
  38.
  39. And though the restless nights have passed,
  40. She lingers in his dreams,
  41. And that is where she waits for him,
  42. But in a sky unseen.
  43.
  44. And now she holds his hand,
  45. And now she lets it go,
  46. And now he can but weep,
  47. For the girl he used to know.
