Restrict environmentally destructive methods of fishing, and for connected purposes.

*BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—*

**1. Definitions**
a) Bottom Trawling is defined as the towing of a trawl/fishing net along or close to the sea floor.
b) A Gill Net is defined as vertical panels of netting normally set in a straight line, designed to catch fish by their gills.
c) Gillnetting is defined as the usage of a Gill Net to catch fish.
d) A long line is defined as a deep-sea fishing line from which many baited hooks are suspended.
e) Longline fishing is defined as the usage of a long line to catch fish.

**2. Restrictions**
a) Gillnetting shall henceforth be illegal.
b) Posesion of a Gill Net shall henceforth be illegal.
c) Longline fishing shall henceforth be illegal.
d) Posesion of a long line shall henceforth be illegal.
e) Bottom Trawling shall be illegal starting from a depth of 600 metres.
f) Posession of a trawl designed to trawl at a depth of below 600 metres shall be illegal.

**3. Punishments**
a) Failure to comply with Section 2a, 2c, and 2e shall result in

a) This bill may be cited as the "Bottom Trawling, Gillnetting, and Long-Lining (Restriction) Bill"
