  1. It was a calm and peaceful night... It was dark with all the candles and light gone from the room, but the moons shined brightly in through the shattered stained glass windows, the sound of the bells rang in my ears, they seemed to consume the city, the bells felt as though they were a part of me being...
  2.
  3. “I've been waiting for the chance to kill you...” Zophiel snarled, letting his scythe go, it hung in the air; suspended on his power.
  4.
  5. The birds chirped outside, my power having stirred them from their sleep. I could feel the cool night breeze blowing into my wings, rustling my long hair and carrying the scent of the natural world outside with it...
  6.
  7. “You... You are the one prophesied by Cele'Ra'Cria! Your arrival portends the beginning of the end!” His voice shakes the room as the scythe spins in the air.
  8.
  9. Deep inside me I felt a deep calm, something almost like dreaming. Deep inside I felt strength welling up, surging in my veins and filling me with confidence...
  10.
  11. “Arkn of Light! Harbinger of doom! An Arkn cloaked in light will burn the city to the ground!” He shouted, righteous rage in his eyes.
  12.
  13. I didn't feel afraid, or weak. I felt like I finally had everything I wanted, I felt like I had all the answers I needed.
  14.
  15. “After all my prayers, a god came to me! Told me exactly where the Harbinger would be! So I went and killed everyone... and took the Harbinger into the choir.”
  16.
  17. Zophiel narrowed his eyes as flames erupted from my hands, I glared him down.
  18.
  19. I… felt my heart fill with power.
  20.
  21. Zophiel charged, trying to rush me. Doing as Uriel had shown me, I danced around him as he attacked, rearing up, I threw all the power I had at him, causing a massive explosion when it collided.
  22.
  23. I stood almost breathless as I stared at the smoke and dust from my magic attack. I felt suddenly lighter, and strength surged through me like fire in my veins. My entire body hummed and I felt it more and more as an illumination came from me, growing brighter and brighter until my entire form was a surging, golden silhouette.
  24.
  25. “I should have known…” Zophiel rasped walking out of the smoke and flames, scythe clutched tight in his hand. “You’re one of the abominations created by the Arknmagus… Tell me, how many more did I miss? I’m certain after I’m done with your execution, I can hunt down the rest of his heretical brood. “
  26.
  27. I responded with a roar and another gout of flame directed at Zophiel’s head, which he met with a air shaking shout, causing another explosion. “Just look at yourself! Look what sort of monster you are!”
  28.
  29. I saw it then; vines were coming from my feet, winding up trees that had come up through the marble floors. They stretched their branches overhead, cloistering me in. “I...” I never imagined I had the power to do magic like this…
  30.
  31. “You are an insult to the Arkn race, and you and all your kind need to be destroyed!” He lifted off the ground almost faster than I could follow. “I SMITE YOU BY THE WILL OF GOD!” He shouted, raising his scythe to strike.
  32.
  33. “AMBRIEL, NO!” A new voice shouted to my side as I was grabbed and pulled into a white light.
  34.
  35.
  36. The white shifted to gold and the sound of Zophiel’s voice came back as if I had been woken form sleep. A hand covered my mouth and an arm wrapped around my waist. The fog cleared and I was back in the crowd, listening to Zophiel’s speech. “Stay quiet.” Raziel’s voice whispered in my ear. I could only cry helplessly as the scythe was brought down on the whimpering human.
