  28. ► mingming was born in the heart of the shaanxi province; xi'an. she lived a pretty normal life as it was equivalent to the lives of pretty much the entire student body in her school. a majority of her peers had their future decided upon before their actual birth. it was the same for her. due to the multiple generations in her family having the career of a doctor, mingming was also expected to go into the field of medicine-- even if it was not directly said to her. the only choice she was able to make was what type of doctor she became. by the beginning of her freshman year, she settled upon the career of a general surgeon. however, she developed an interest that would unknowingly change the path she took in the future-- whether her parents liked it or not. during one of her classes in the middle of the year, mingming was introduce to various forms of poems. her favorite poems to create were with the gu xi form and the modern freewriting. she later became infatuated with her (now) hobby and even began to set it to a beat. her interests in poems slowly became an interest in rapping. mingming had even begun to idolize a chinese underground hip-hop group, in3. in 2012, word spread like wildfire about the sm entertainment global auditions taking place in another city. without knowing too much about what the event actually was, she cut school to audition.
