- >Natsuki slipped her shoe into a careful balance on her foot as she was stuck, suspended against the lamp post by tight ropes.
- >She took careful aim, brought her leg back, and unleashed a mighty kick, launching the heel at her target.
- >Clunking against the shiny green metal that was her captor's head, it bounced off and to the side.
- >Taking notice, the machine turned toward her and looked her dead in the eyes with the red LEDs that served as his own.
- >The small circles focused on her, before scrolling across the black visor towards the now misplaced shoe.
- >The robot took a few steps towards its landing spot, bent down, and retrieved the footwear before turning back to her, and beginning its approach.
- >It reached for her half-clothed foot, and grabbed it with one hand while easing the shoe on with the other.
- >All the while, the furious pink Doki slammed her free heel down on her captor's head, screaming all the while.
- >However, out here on this lonesome starlit speedway, there was no one to hear her cries. Once her shoe was securely on, the robot stepped back and returned to its original position, looking down the road.
- >She wondered why it had kidnapped her, why it had her change into those fancy clothes, and why it struck such a resemblance to her boyfriend. She also wondered where he was; he saw her get snatched, and had chased after the two only to fall behind once her captor reached top speed.
- >She hoped he had kept up the pursuit, and waited fuming for a moment before settling her gaze on the robot again.
- >Once more, one foot crept to the back of her other heel, and began loosening the shoe.
- "Hey! I don't care how cute you are, let me the fuck down! I've got somewhere to be!" You shouted, slamming your arms down on the android carrying you.
- >The thud of its chassis was the only response you got as its arm gripped itself tight around your legs. Despite being a full foot shorter than you, the robot that you quickly identified as a doppelganger of your Doki had managed to pick you up and throw you over her shoulder.
- >You struggled against the hold, but eventually, you gave up. Chasing after the clone of yourself had seriously tired you out, and it was no use. You'd just have to wait for an opportune time to escape.
- >You attempted small talk with the machine that captured you, but it was no use. In silence, the two of you traveled towards an unknown destination.
- >The destination became known shortly, however, as a small shed out on the side of a highway. There, the robot threw open the door, and placed you inside before producing a bag and handing it to you.
- >Cautiously, you opened the sack, and in the dim light of the structure you saw a pair of dress pants, a nice shirt, and some black shoes.
- >Confused, you looked back up at the silent construct who was staring into your soul.
- "Did you want me to put these on?"
- >A whirring of motors gave the affirmative as the rosy robot nodded.
- "Alright... Mind giving me some privacy?"
- >The robot slammed the door shut, and you took the moment of solace before beginning to look around.
- >Surely there had to be something in here that could help you, or an alternate exit.
- >No such luck, however. The building seemed to be constructed recently, and well. No cracks in the wooden walls, no windows aside from a small slat that also served for ventilation on the bottom of the door.
- >It was empty save for a bench built onto the wall and the clothes in your hand, as well.
- >You scoffed to yourself, and began changing. If you didn't comply, you'd just be sitting here and be no closer to saving your love. At least this would give you a chance.
- >After swapping your clothes with the ones in the bag, you opened the door. The Natsubot turned to face you, and upon seeing that you had changed, snatched you back up immediately and began moving at high speed down the road once more.
- >Finding struggling just as futile as before, you held on to the automaton and watched the road behind you disappear.
- >Before long, you heard a screaming as your ride pulled to a stop.
- >"Let me go! Hey, who the fuck are you and why are you carrying my boyfriend?"
- "Nats? You back there?" You yelled over your shoulder at the familiarly angry voice.
- >"Yeah! What's going on?"
- "No clue! Right after you got away I got snatched up. Are you okay?"
- >"Yeah, I'm fine- god DAMN IT STOP CARRYING ME!" You heard the hollow sounds of fists against metal behind you.
- >Your captors began running, the pink one following the one who looked like you.
- >Well, things didn't seem to be malicious, you thought. At least, not yet.
- >After a short period, the machine carrying you stopped and sat you down, pointed toward a building.
- >Natsuki's captor did the same, and the two of you shared a moment of confusion.
- "A fast food joint?" You looked with brow raised at the small pink android next to you.
- >It gave another nod, then pointed to all of you and then to the building.
- "And you want all of us to go in."
- >Another nod.
- >"What? No, that's dumb. Come on, Anon, we're leaving." Natsuki went to grab your arm, and in the time it took for her to get to you the Natsubot had gotten in the way and faced her.
- >The robot brought its hands up to its chin in a pleading motion, tilting its head.
- "Wait, do you guys just want us to go on a date? Is that why you had us get dressed up?"
- >The Anonbot nodded at you.
- "Huh. Well, are you paying?"
- >The green machine tilted its own head.
- "You need to pay for stuff in there. You know, with money. I didn't really have my wallet on me when you snatched us up."
- >It thought for a moment, and then sped off.
- >"Anon, this is really, really stupid." Natsuki said over the head of her doppelganger.
- "Yeah, but I mean, as long as we're not in danger, we can have dinner with our robotic selves, right?"
- >"I guess. Plus, I did want to try out this restaurant."
- "See? These guys ain't half bad."
- >She gave a small chuckle and smiled up at you.
- >"Always seeing the bright side."
- >The robot turned around to face you, and mimicked the action of chuckling and smiling, albeit silently.
- >Smiling nervously, you give a small laugh as you look at Natsuki.
- >Suddenly, a green fist was thrust in front of your face, brandishing a leather wallet.
- >Looking at it, then to the Anonbot holding it, you grabbed it out of its hand and inspected it.
- >Plain brown leather, with one side embroidered 'BAD MOTHERFUCKER.' Neat.
- >Opening it up, there was no license, but there was thirty dollars in various bills.
- "Where did you get this?" You looked up at him.
- >He shrugged.
- "Did you hurt anybody for it?"
- >He shook his head.
- "Good enough for me. Here, it's yours now." You hand the wallet back to him. "Let's head inside, Nats, Robome, and Robonats." You motioned for them to follow you, and everyone did so.
- >Natsuki locked hands with you, and looking behind you saw the two robots mimicking the display of affection.
- >"Aw, babe, they're kinda cute." Natsuki says, blushing sweetly.
- "Yeah, because we're cute as fuck." You say with bravado.
- >"Damn right." She giggles.
- >Moseying to the line at the register, you ask your mechanical companions if they want to go first. Anonbot points at you, and you take that as a sign that you're to order first.
- >"Wait, do they even eat?" Natsuki whispered up to you. You answered with a shrug, and waited in the line.
- >When your party reached the front of the line, you were greeted by the friendliest minimum wage teenager that the establishment could offer.
- >"Welcome to Borgar Kang, how can I help you?" The boy asked.
- "Yeah, I'll have the uhhh Half Pound Borgar with cheese combo, plain."
- >"One number six... hold on... alright, anything else?" You nudged your partner.
- >"Could I get the number four without mayo?" She asked, looking up at the menu.
- >"You sure can. Anythi-" Anonbot stepped beside you, and Natsubot beside Natsuki, each pointing at you. "... Uh, do they want what you're having?"
- >You looked at Anonbot, who nodded at you.
- "I think so, yeah."
- >"Alright... that'll be 24.38." You turned to help your companion with his wallet, but he had excitedly began opening itself before flinging the bills in a wad at the poor boy who gave a yelp.
- >"Jeez!" Natsuki says in shock.
- "Shit, sorry for my friend here. He's kind of, uh, not a people person?" You say to him, before turning back to the robot. "Alright, so when you buy stuff, just hand the bills to the person, and usually not all of them. You got the concept down, you just need execution."
- >The robot nods, and the clerk nervously holds the change and receipt out to your party. Anonbot looks to you, then the bills, and gently takes them from the boy before depositing them in the wallet.
- "Very good. Now, we can sit while we wait for our food." You point over to the booths.
- >"And maybe you two can find a way to explain to us why you're here."
- >Looking over the drawing on the napkin, you and Natsuki look at each other in confusion.
- >"So let's sort this out. You two were sent from an alternate timeline in which people who don't have physical forms of us can date robots of us instead, and you were sent to collect data on how we act so the robots could be good partners." Natsuki stated, looking up to her roboclone.
- >The Natsukibot nodded vigorously, its face plate smeared in ketchup from mimicking the motion of eating fries.
- >"Huh. That's crazy. I'd say impossible, but uh, it's a pretty solid explanation for all this weird shit."
- >You nod sagely, sipping on your Dr. Kang as your clone hits his straw against where his mouth would be.
- >"Are you guys going to have voices? I can't imagine trying to date somebody while mute, though I'm sure it could work."
- >Natsukibot brought her hand up to her chin in thought, then pointed as if she had an idea.
- >"-possible-we-could-collect-voices-data-" Natsuki's own voice played back to her through a speaker within the robot's face plate.
- >"Huh, that could work." She acknowledged. "Is that what I sound like?" Natsuki said, almost to herself.
- "Yeah, you sound nice." You said, taking the opportunity to drop a compliment on your cute pink girlfriend.
- >"-cute-as-fuck-" Your voice repeated, and you looked to your robotic self while laughing.
- "Don't think I'm gonna be able to get used to that. Well, anyway, I don't mind helping you guys out if it just means you tag along on dates. Do you mind helping em, Nats?"
- >"Nah, not really, as long as they can tell when we need some alone time."
- "That cool with you guys?" You ask to the two robotic beings, who nod in quick succession while giving cut-up 'yes'es from both of your voices. "Rad. I guess you guys can also stay with us, too."
- >"What? Anon, is it a good idea to let them in so soon?"
- "I think so. I don't think they have a place to stay here, and look at em." You gesture vaguely to the robots, and Natsuki observes the two tincans covered in various sandwich bits and condiments, holding crayons and blankly looking back at her. "They're harmless."
- >"I guess. Plus, they do have to give us a ride home. Oh, and another couple things, guys-" She turned back to the bots. "First off, you didn't have to come across town just for a Borgar Kang. There was one like, a block away from where you nabbed us. Second, you don't have to dress as fancy as this for it, either." She gestured to you and her. "That's more for fancy restaurants, like Olivia's Garden."
- >Once again, the robots nodded vigorously while taking the data happily. Snorting at this, you ask if your party is ready to leave, and the four of you get up and exit. Hopping onto the metal Anon's back, and Natsuki onto her own cybernetic selves, the four of you rode towards home.
