  1. [17:26] Nerin lux Altin says, "Yes."
  2. [17:38] The young woman would slowly hear more information about the growing amounts of demons antagonizing the local area. Not only are they acting as mongers of war, but they were actually attempting to steal from other people? She saw this as a new low for the demonic entities.
  3.
  4. Nonetheless, She would slowly make her way towards the dojo. A private area for the female to learn, master, and eventually to soon take a hold upon their abilities, and placing them into a higher standard than beforehand..
  5.
  6. The young woman would slowly await her instructions, as she waits patiently for Nerin to provide their tutelage upon her. Her patience has been rewarded, with even more knowledge. With her will in check she would look towards her teacher, and smile.
  7.
  8. "I am ready."
  9. (Minerva Elinora)
  10. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  11.
  12. [17:40] Agni cos Solenne says, "It was in use."
  13. [17:40] Alessa cos Solenne says, "Oh."
  14. [17:40] Alessa cos Solenne says, "It's taken."
  15. [17:44] There is no doubt in his mind that someone would be interested in such a technique, eventually; but it's only good, is it not? After all, he knows that he's by far not eternal.. and sooner or later, he would have to pass on the torch to someone else - before he grows too old, before something terrible may happen to him..
  16.
  17. He would have to ensure that someone else would carry on.
  18.
  19. "Very well."
  20.
  21. "We're starting immediately. No point beating around the bush."
  22.
  23. As they enter the building, his gaze turns towards Minerva; it is something that he would imagine she'll have difficulty grasping, if only for a while.. but with time, it should get better for her- already he takes upon the stance, the azure flames surrounding the Exarch in vibrant colors..
  24.
  25. Far more vibrant than any Energy magi.
  26.
  27. But it's a testament to his might and prowess, is it not? It's a testament to the fact that he's gone very far- still, when they're here, he begins explaining.
  28.
  29. "The art isn't easy, because it requires precise, specific way of control."
  30.
  31. "Simply overloading with the flow of energy won't do. Repeat after me, and watch closely." Already it seems as if Nerin's shoulders relax, and an exhale follows- one in which there's a slight droop following his stance, but..
  32.
  33. There's an odd pattern to his breathing - with each inhale and exhale, the azure flames flicker.
  34.
  35. "All Energy magic comes from within, and shutting down another, landing such precise blows.. it is mastery of such."
  36.
  37. "First, listen to your heart. Listen to it's rhythm. Stabilize your breathing pattern - so that it follows your heartbeat."
  38.
  39. "It must sync."
  40. (Nerin lux Altin)
  41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. [17:59] The young woman would slowly take a small look towards the actual ability.. She would try desperately to make actual sense of what he wanted. Listening to her heart, and practicing its rhythm.. She needed to find a point in why....
  44.
  45. But then something had hit her. He wanted herself to resonate her mana flow completely. To synchronize her mana flow to match her physical movements. The explanation growing clearer after her thoughts would come forth..
  46.
  47. She would then slowly relax herself and attempt to loosen up her body for what she was preparing to do next. She would swiftly push her eyelids to close itself as she would continue her own usual stance. Fluid, and focused footwork.
  48.
  49. Shortly afterwards, the beat of her heart would grow more apparent to her. As she noticed it would beat more swiftly as usual. Small breaths would be taken, as a measure to not only slow her heart down, but to engage her focus in this state as well.
  50.
  51. She would open her eyes. Looking towards her Exarch mentor in a calm relaxed fashion.
  52.
  53. "Alright. I am ready for further instructions."
  54.
  55. She would say in a more stern tone, maintaining a more neutral expression..
  56. (Minerva Elinora)
  57. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  58.
  59. [18:03] One does not master such technique in a single day.
  60.
  61. Nor they master it in just a few months either. It requires dedication, constant work and perseverance.. something that many lacked, and thus they have fallen short in such practice. If anything, he imagines that it would be a while before anyone else truly masters such, but..
  62.
  63. It can't be helped. It does take a while.
  64.
  65. Still, where he notes the changes about her stance, about her breathing, about her form as a whole.. he inquisitively observes her, if only to finally produce a nod. It was satisfactory so far, at the very least.
  66.
  67. "Good."
  68.
  69. "Now.."
  70.
  71. The azure flames pick up - brighter than anyone else's. Already it begins to slowly shift as endeavour in which the energy is transported through his arms, from the shoulder as origin.. they do not quite travel to his fingertips, but instead, it seems that there's a steady current.
  72.
  73. "You are a flow."
  74.
  75. "A river, through which the energy must pass. Continue to listen to this heartbeat- and do not attempt to steer the energy in any significant way. Instead.. let it flow through you, and gently nudge it through your arms."
  76.
  77. "Remember, your focus must be in the technique, not raw strength. Overdo it, and you'll botch it."
  78. (Nerin lux Altin)
  79. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  80.
  81. [18:21] Flow. The feeling of being formless. Shapeless. Not defined by something singular or stagnant. To be constantly engaged and focused upon the task at hand... She was doing good so far. As proper breathing was honed after years of combat.
  82.
  83. To be the river, to direct all flow to one singular channel. A small feeling of uncertainty was masked behind a neutral expression given towards her teacher. Not only would she have to maintain her ability to control her heartbeat..
  84.
  85. She would now have to control her raw mana. To become the conduit Transferring energy. She just needed to attempt to slightly nudge the raw mana towards her arms. A task that was certainly unorthodox to her typical style of combat.
  86.
  87. As she controlled her breathing, and let her muscles loose. wisps of mana would slowly escape her own body. Her mana circuits slowly reacting to the state of control. She would softly buffet the mana towards her arms in this state.
  88.
  89. Wisps of mana that would regularly exit her body wildly would slowly collect around her arms, and reach her hands. Not controlled enough to reach her fingertips, and not prevalent enough for it to become forceful and powerfull..
  90.
  91. However. The mana was apparent and under good vision, one could see small amounts slipping through her fingers.
  92.
  93. "Just...Need...To...Flow.."
  94.
  95. She would utter softly. Concentrating with all her will.
  96. (Minerva Elinora)
  97. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  98.
  99. [18:28] "That flow must be maintained by your heartbeat. With each beat you hear, allow the flow to push forth - much like the river coursing through your body."
  100.
  101. This balance is something that rarely anyone understood..
  102.
  103. Which is why many would-be students were already failing far before they could actually try their hand at such arts. If anything, most were trying to rush down in attempts to concentrate their mana upon fingertips or their hands, thinking it's that simple..
  104.
  105. But they could not be any further from truth.
  106.
  107. Instead, it took utmost precision, focus and control, one which many magi these days have lacked. Carefully observing how Minerva would be performing, his eyes narrowing, almost as if to spot out any potential mistakes. And yet..
  108.
  109. "Now.."
  110.
  111. "Slowly begin to push the flow to your fingertips. Much like the river flows, the waves must resurface somewhere- like a steady, calm ripple, rather than raging storms of the ocean."
  112.
  113. "That ripple is something you would direct. Harness it around your hand, allow the waters to surface, and.."
  114.
  115. The Exarch's hand stretches out. In his own form, it looks effortless- but the azure flames manifest upon the fingertips, already giving out the potent energy.
  116.
  117. "-- strike."
  118. (Nerin lux Altin)
  119. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  120.
  121. [18:53] Patience. In mind, and in body. To maintain the flow of her heart would prove to be more than a challenge for the young woman in question. However she would attempt to continue onwards. She didn't understand that there was another layer of understanding for this magical ability.
  122.
  123. For her. It was the feeling of unlearning, and relearning what the visual concept of mana magic was to her. To break down the feeling of mana being just plain brute force. It too was another extension of herself, just like holy magic was.
  124.
  125. To refine the flow of mana. And tune it to have a rippling effect. She had to become the pool in which the mana within would react to. A new feeling of control would have to become prioritized in order to maintain the same result.
  126.
  127. She would close her eyes once more. Gripping her hand once more to establish the control that she had. Gathering and redirecting the mana towards her hands. An envisioned feeling, of her coming into contact with the water would surface within the depths of her mind.
  128.
  129. She would throw a stringing fist. Her eyes closed, envisioning her hand traveling through the body of water. Causing the ripple effect, Simultaneously She focused her breating and resonance with her mana from within.
  130.
  131. All in one strike.
  132.
  133. A small burst of energy would be expelled. Not grand enough to be prevalent, with little bits of mana wisps expelling outwards. However, more than suitable for her to at least note what progress she has made in so little time.
  134. (Minerva Elinora)
  135. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  136.
  137. [18:58] One does not master such techniques quickly.
  138.
  139. And where the burst of energy lingers, he doesn't necessarily admonish Minerva for being on the level of a beginner in such matter.. if anything, this were to be expected, and something of this matter was most likely the case in this scenario. Yet..
  140.
  141. "You did good."
  142.
  143. "However, you must remember to harness your energy better- over time, it should improve through the practice and self discovery. You'll find it that you'll be able to channel your own flow, much like it were a freeflowing river."
  144.
  145. "At that point, you'll know that you mastered it."
  146.
  147. Until then.. there's something entirely else- something that he makes known to the young woman immediately.
  148.
  149. "I advise to take a break for the time being, however."
  150.
  151. "You do not wish to overwhelm yourself - and at this point, you should be able to pick up and progress further on your own as well. In truth.. that might be better."
  152.
  153. "Discovering yourself and a new page in your life would be better for you, rather than sitting down with me all the time and studying." Though, with a pause, he adds.
  154.
  155. "Any questions?"
  156. (Nerin lux Altin)
  157. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  158.
  159. [19:12] Mastery was far from it. It took such high amounts of concentration in order to gain value from such a single strike. The woman would certainly have to provide herself with avenues to practice and hone her art before anything else.
  160.
  161. A breath would be given towards the exarch. In fact the actual move would provide her with significant energy drain from her reserves. As if she was straining herself with a single focused blow. She would require better mana control from that of the holy paladin.
  162.
  163. Her hues would look towards the exarch. Giving a small nod. Her measures in learning this magic would be deep and prevalent. And the journey not often welcomed by the faint of heart. From this point on, she must steel herself. And march forwards with her actions.
  164.
  165. Another deep exhale would reveal its presence. As if slightly exhausted from the entire mentorship. She had done well to speak to Nerin about her path. Now burdens of both novice, and veterans are laid to rest. As she stretches herself.
  166.
  167. "Thanks for your time nerin. I appreciate you taking the time out of your life to teach me this. For now, I will plan to think on what to do with this knowledge going forwards. And complete those actions according to what I can do now."
  168.
  169. She would have a slight smile after the whole debacle. A sense of relief easing the weight upon her chest.
  170.
  171. "No questions for now. I think that learning whats best for me based on what I have given is the best for the both of us."
  172.
  173. She would slowly walk away waving towards Nerin Unless stopped by the exarch.
  174. (Minerva Elinora)
  175. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  176.
  177. [19:15] "You're welcome."
  178.
  179. There is but a nod given to her when she speaks of such, but.. it's true, it's better off for her to focus on what she was given already and simply learn from it. For now, however, he merely remarks briefly.
  180.
  181. "Let's head back for now."
  182. (Nerin lux Altin)
  183. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
