Snow Day

> Luna tried to think but found it hard with her daughter eyes burning a hole into the back of her head.
> "So, how are liking Alaska Freebird?"
> "I'd like it more if we weren't snowed in."
> Luna tried to keep her smile as she looked back out the window, watching Chunk was still hard at work trying to dig through 10 feet of Alaskan Weather's hospitality.
> "I'm sorry okay, I just wanted to do a show in Alaska, Meet the people, see a real life Moose."
> "And the Salty Dawg Saloon?" Lyra added
> "...The what?" Luna tried to pretend she didn’t know exactly what that was.
> "The Bar you and Sam were going to ‘hit’ after the show?" Whelp, there goes the lying route.
> "Girl your so bright, my eyes are burning." She tried to laugh but her little girl never laughed at her references. "Well as long as were stuck out here, how about we make a snow day out of it."
> "Snow Day?" Right, she's never been to school.
> "Its just a day where you just goof off in the snow, you know what." Luna walked into the back of the bus and came out with hairy little baby. "This is the perfect chance to introduce your little bro to what snow is."
> "Mom no, it’s too cold outside, he might get a fever." Luna smiled, setting Lemy down and kneeling down to hug her protective little girl.
> " Just five minutes, that’s all I’m asking. Just to get his feet wet… snowed… you know what I mean."
> The little angel muddled with her thoughts until she felt something hugging her Leg.
> "Liya." Lemy cooed, hugging his sisters Leg.
> "...Okay, but only five minutes."
> Lyra had second thoughts the moment she saw the sea of snow that surrounded their mobile home.
> "Maybe only 2 minutes." She pleaded to her mother who was holding a bundled up Lemy in her arms.
> "Aw c'mon girl, no need to be afraid, we got Love to keep us warm."
> "And God."
> "Yeah him too." Luna said as she set Lemy down on the front step of the bus entrance. "Aw look at him, he looks like Kenny from South park."
> "Whose Kenny?"
> "He was this kid from a cartoon I watch, every episode he'd go on adventures with his little friends and he'd end up… You know what, don’t worry about it."
> "That makes me worry more."
> "Well today isn't about you, this is about your little brother. Go on Rockstar, go get your snow day on!"
> "YA!" Lemy yelled as he waddled over to the side of the step and dove into the snow.
> Luna and Lyra watched for a moment as they noticed how the snow didn't move from the spot he fell into.
> "This might have been a mistake."
> "LEMY!" Lyra ran into the snow frantically digging for her brother. "Please oh merciful lord, help me find my brother, I just got him."
> Luna tried to dig around the spot her little man had fell into noticing a little tunnel.
> "Lyra-"
> "I don't want to hear it! You ruined this day and it hasn't even started." Luna shook off the comment and followed the tunnel.
> "Freebird, you know I was just trying to make this day fun for you."
> "Bull!" She kicked the snow. "Everything you do is because YOU wanna do it. The Tour, Alaska, this whole stupid snow day!" She looked at her mother right in the eye with a scowl. "You don't care about us at all."
> Luna looked down at her daughter and raised her hand. Lyra didn't know what she was doing until her hand came down.
> Plunging wrist deep into the snow before pulling it back up with a familiar face, hugging her arm.
> "Mama!" Lemy smiled nuzzling into her arm.
> Luna scooped him up and held him close. "We should go inside. It's getting cold out here."

> Hour passed and Chunk had finally managed to get the snow out of the way and get them back on the road.
> Luna and Lyra hadn't talked since they got back in the Van. Lyra was sitting in her bunk thinking about the day. Part of her regretting what she while the other part argued she was in the right.
> Like with most of her problems, she looked toward the good book for answers. And in plain text, it said right there in black and white.
> Honor thy mother. Even if she was selfish, she was still her mom and she needed to do her part and apologize for her disrespect.
> Didn’t she was going to be happy about it, dragging her feet to her mother's room in the back of the bus and knocking on the door.
> "Come on in.”
> Lyra walked in to see her mother holding her fuzzy little brother asleep in her arms. "Mom, I'm sorry."
> "For what?" Luna said never taking her eyes of her little tumbleweed.
> "For today, the snow day, yelling at you. It was like 5 hours ago."
> "Nah, I know what you're apologizing for, but you don't need too." Luna set her baby down on the pillow and patted her lap.
> Lyra walked over and climbed up her leg, afraid to look her in the eye.
> "Lyra, you were right. I did wanna go to the bar, but I also wanted you and your brother to see Alaska. To see the whole world. But I should have told you first, I never think before I leap"
> Luna laughed a little "This one time, I was trying to get your aunt Lily into Rock and I almost did a stage dive on top of her."
> She laughed but stopped when she saw the look on her Lyra face.
> "What I'm trying to get at is, I'm pretty selfish like that. And I forget you’re not into the same stuff I'm into. So after were done here, you can pick the next spot."
> "...Thank you, Mom."  Lyra was so caught up in the moment she didn't know what else to say.
> Luna hugged her little angel. “I love you.
