Did Christianity promote individual freedom?

I would like you to expand on your respect for Christianity, because I have none and you don't really make arguments for it.
You just assert that Christianity magically created a resistance against socialism, I have many arguments against this.

1. Christianity's rise correlates strongly with the rise of socialism in Rome. You can say this is an accident, but we have no evidence either way and Christianity is the element that changed. Also the Roman leaders didn't care about religion, they only persecuted Christians in response to mass protest. The people of that time understood the evil of Christianity.

2. It took Christians hundreds of years to organize a resistance against Muslims conquering their lands. Only after 2/3 of their land had been conquered and the Pope himself was seriously threatened, did they finally manage to start driving back Muslims. I don't see how that performance is something we should look forward to.

The reason science rose in Christian cultures was that it was so horrible, people lost faith in the establishment and started looking for their own solutions. Like Newton who wrote many books on religion, because he was looking for his own solutions to problems, rather than accepting the given answer. The difference with other religions is that they did successfully keep control of their population.

4. The reason Christians nowadays behave is that their beliefs aren't respected. So they don't feel justified to force their interpretation on others. Muslims commit far more terrorist attacks against other muslims, people who respect their beliefs. So the solution is to disrespect Islam, flood them with criticism and ridicule, we don't need another religion. In fact, being indoctrinated into a stupidity like that just weakens the mind to accept another one.

5. Many of the settlers to America where fanatical Christians aiming to spread Christianity. Yet they implemented communism (long before Marx) and as a result starved to death. When they abolished socialism, suddenly they got massive crop yields. Of course, as good Christians, they thanked god for this plentiful: thanksgiving.
