1. Come one come all to the first /ddlc/ Poetry Festival!
2.
3. To celebrate what we've learnt from the myriad of talented Anons and Posters in our short time together, we're hosting a Poetry contest!
4.
5. A shortlist of details regarding the festival are as follows:
6.
7. >Theme
8. Being the first of it’s kind, this festival will focus on something very broad, love poetry! Each anon will write a love poem for his Doki, post it in the thread on the date of the festival and share with other anons!
9.
10. >Guidelines
11. Your poem is to be dedicated to your doki, however you are allocated creative freedom in all other areas. Structurally it can be whatever you want it to be, a haiku, a rhyme or even a mess of disjointed words! It can emphasise whatever you may feel towards her, or lament her absence from your life. Sorry for bringing that up!
12.
13. >Date and time
14. The submissions will occur at 8:00 PM US Pacific time on tuesday the 16th of January. Not to worry, eurofriends, submissions are open throughout the day. A modified version of this post can be replied to with your poetry or you can just post in raw.
15.
16. >Competition
17. Once every poem is collected each Doki receive a subcategory from which a favourite poem will be voted upon. From there one poem of the best four will be selected as the ultimate winner!

21. FESTIVAL UPDATE
22.
23. First of all, I’d like to thank all the anons who lent me their advice and suggestions when it came to the formatting of the grand contest. Your advice has been helpful to say the least!
24. Now, some more details regarding submissions and the subsequent processes on the date of the festival:
25.
26. >Submission on the day
27. Starting January 16 8:00PM US Pacific time, the submission booths will open in the thread at the time! I’d ask you not to post them too early, as it would make collecting them all a little trickier!
28. In the name of creative freedom, the poems can be named whatever you want them to be, however, in order to make collection and categorisation easier, I’ll ask for you to all post your poems either in text if they fit in one post or pastebin them and link them in your post ALONGSIDE the name of the Doki it pertains to at the very bottom. This will make sorting them for the eventual contest that much easier!
29.
30. >Categorisation
31. 24 hours after the polls open (for all the eurofriends for whom 8:00 US doesn’t translate well) submissions will close and the poems will be sorted into subcategories for each Doki.
32. Essentially, I’ll pastebin every poem
Unlisted
and from then on sort them by name into 4 larger pasterns for each individual doki. These larger pastebins will all be included in the larger, festival pastern here: {Insert thread pastebin}. The thread pastebin should have all the information you need if you miss any more of these posts.
33.
34. >Voting
35. Once all submissions closed, been collected and sorted, and the larger thread pastebin completed, the completed pastebin will be posted in the thread for you all to scour through. Every poem can be viewed by every anon, and subsequently, every anon can vote for one poem from the four categories as their favourite for that particular doki!
36. When the finished thread pastebin is uploaded, a link to a poll will be included at the bottom of each Doki subcategory, from there you can vote on your favourite poem! Polling for these shall, again, remain open for 24 hours, to give every anon to read through the poems and decide on his favourite, before shutting the day after with the final numbers collected, and each Doki’s favourite poem selected!
37.
38. >The Grand Finale
39. Now that every Doki is represented by one poem, the polling shall open for the grand Finale. The winning four poems will be announced in the thread and added to the pastebin, and the last vote for the overall winner will begin with a link to the voting booths in both the aforementioned locations. Polling will remain open for 12 hours this time, before shutting with the final winner to be announced in the thread.

44. YET ANOTHER FESTIVAL UPDATE
45.
46. In light of recent events, I will be shuffling the date of the festival a little further down the line:
47.
48. The new date for the festival will be Tuesday, the 16th of January, submissions will occur at the exact same time and the submission window will remain open for again, the same amount of time. No details pertaining to the types of poetry, conditions for entry, voting system or anything else other than specific date and time are going to change. I’ll update the pastebin and thread reminders and keep you guys posted!
49. Think of it as an opportunity to reflect on what you’ve written and make any changes that you see fit/ just want to. Again, nothing except the date of the festival has changed.
50.
51. Once more, I’m very much looking forward to seeing how you express yourselves for your dokis, and I’m certain that each piece will be marvellous in its own way!
52.
53. TL;DR
54. >Submissions begin 8:00 PM US pacific time Jan 12th and last the whole 24 hours
55. >Every poem is to be submitted with the name of the doki it pertains to at the very bottom
56. >Submissions are entirely anonymous, please no tripcodes or avatars
57. >Once polls close, poems will be sorted into respective pastebins, from where voting will commence
58. >Voting for the final four will last 1 day, giving every anon chance to read over all the poems and select a favourite
59. >Once the last four are selected, they will be announced in-thread and voting will begin on the winner
60. >Polls remain open for 12 hours this time, and will close with a winner selected
61. >Winner will be announced in-thread to much praise and applause

64. POETRY SUBMITTED
65.
66. DISCLAIMER: Please, when you go to vote, don't vote for the category you yourself submitted to. For the sake of fairness the works representing one Doki will be judged by the anons of the other 3.

80. A huge thanks to you all who've begun writing for this contest!
81. I know for a fact that no matter how well written or technical your poems may be, it will be the emotional impact behind them that will carry them the furthest!
82. So once again the best of luck and happy writing to you all! I'm sure you will all create pieces your dokis would tear up to read!
