  39. Hendrix: *ahem* as we last left off, you reached an impasse due to that fat old lion of yours, you met a nice group of fellows who asked you to take care of some mean ol' skeleton
  40. Hendrix: it is now the wee hours of the morning, what do
  41. Thrice: Sounds accurate
  42. Haretsu: *preparations and such* I suppose now we're off to see what this skeleton lord or what have you is all about?
  43. Tarron: Ooohh...it was a long night thanks to those people!
  44. Haretsu: After taking their money, we're somewhat locked into dealing with the thing...
  45. Arte: Made even longer by you turning it into day. I agree nonetheless, we should head out, see what the skeleton boy's really up to, and get this over with.
  46. Hendrix: you head off to the area marked off with the most lovely depiction of a skull on your map
  47. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 65 »
  48. Arte: (( check dis 1 ))
  49. Arte: (( aw ))
  50. Haretsu: *goody*
  51. Haretsu: *actually not so goody, coulda used an encounter (sad)*
  52. Haretsu: *THIS THING MAY AT LEAST PUT US AT LEVEL 2*
  53. Haretsu: *...assuming we even fight it, which I'm not convinced we should, but hey*
  54. Arte: *Welp, guess we gotta get to explorin', another day*
  55. Haretsu: *at least I have Knowledge (Arcana) to know just how much our asses would be kicked if we tried*
  56. Arte: Let's hope everything stays smooth sailing when we meet the guy.
  57. Haretsu: "Meet" it indeed... if it can talk, all the better.
  58. Hendrix: You travel on and arrive at another section of the same river you witnessed before. There appears to be a bridge here, next to a signpost that reads "Nettles' Crossing-5 coppers-ring bell for service"
  59. Tarron: Oh my! Do you think that means you must ring the bell to cross?
  60. Hendrix: This bridge looks far more wider and sturdier (reinforced with metal this time) than the bridge you came across before, though it looks somewhat worn down, like it hasn't been used in a while.
  61. Haretsu: *examines bell*
  62. Haretsu: *examines the SHIT outta this bell (D)*
  63. Hendrix: It's a rusted bell, hanging from the sign. It's attatched with a string.
  64. Arte: Well, I don't know. I mean, the bridge is right there, shouldn't we be able to simply cross it?
  65. Haretsu: We could... but it's not as if we can't afford the toll.
  66. Haretsu: Even if there isn't some mythical guardian.
  67. Hendrix: On the south bank of the river, the crumbled remains of a burnt-down wooden building are slowly being overgrown by encroaching vegetation.
  68. Tarron: Yes, we may as well support whoever collects the money!
  69. Arte: No skin off my back. That building looks worth checking out, don't feel shy about ringing the bell while I'm gone!
  70. Haretsu: *guess I'll go ahead and ring it then, and be instantly killed*
  71. Haretsu: *YOU PLANNED THIS FROM THE START (D)*
  72. Arte: *There anything to do with the building*
  73. Tarron: *and hey I'm with you*
  74. Tarron: *I can like, crit with a crossbow*
  75. Haretsu: *I appreciate the thought*
  76. Tarron: *There no map for this*
  77. Tarron: *Not complaining or anythin just asking*
  78. Hendrix: Ringing the bell causes a rubble pile downstream to shake and tumble. Out from the rubble, a dark figure crawls towards you in an almost inhuman fashion.
  79. Haretsu: *it looks exactly like Lightkeeper*
  80. Hendrix: The building is also all burnt down and useless. There's nothing left to scavange for no matter how hard you look.
  81. Hendrix: The body begins walking across the river's surface, and as it grows closer, you can make out that it's an animated dead body, what little flesh left putrescent, and a dripping ranseur clutched in it's hands.
  82. Haretsu: ...aha... guess we have our ghost. Hold there, are you the toll...corpse for this bridge?
  83. Hendrix: Once it gets close enough, it begins staring you down, and calls to you in an eerie, soggy voice.
  84. Tarron: (( aaand back ))
  85. Davik Nettles: "You are not my tormentors. Throw the Stag Lord's body into the river that I may look upon his death, or join me instead."
  86. Arte: Eh, nothing. One of these days I'll get lucky. *looks back over, well, shit, helter skelter come for us*
  87. Haretsu: The... Stag Lord. Right. See, the sign over there says 5 copper, not the corpse of the ruler of the bandits...
  88. Tarron: Stag Lord? He WAS mentioned by those bandits! But you look ragged, even for a skeleton! What happened to you, can you say?
  89. Arte: *THEY'RE NOT RUNNING, WHY ARE THEY NOT RUNNING*
  90. Davik Nettles: "Remnant from a long time's past. That damn Stag Lord paid a visit to my crossing one day and had the nerve to insist his men be granted free passage, but that I would pay the Stag Lord handsomely in return for my 'protection.' I ran the bastard off of course, but load of good that did me."
  91. Davik Nettles: "Next day, my hounds were dead from a rain of flaming arrows, and I was set aflame. I tried to take those bandits with me, but I only ended up a drowned man."
  92. Davik Nettles: "Now bring the Stag Lord's body to me so I may finally rest in peace after all these years. The blood of low-ranking buffons aren't nearly enough."
  93. Tarron: Savage... All these years? My, my. How many, can you recall?
  94. Haretsu: Low-ranking...would you maybe remember the faces of these people? Not the ones you killed, but the ones accompanying them? We're no allies of the bandits, but it seems you've definitely begun to be a problem for them.
  95. Davik Nettles: "When you walk among the dead, the only length of time that exists is 'too damn long'"
  96. Davik Nettles: "The faces of these people? Do you recall the name and face of every bee that's stung you? They come in all shapes and sizes, and I don't like a single one of 'em. I do recall one though. One wicked woman who's always the most successful at cutting me down."
  97. Davik Nettles: "It's not like she'll ever kill me for good though. She just can't get that simple fact through her skull."
  98. Tarron: Disappointing and understandable! So those last night truly were... Oh! A woman? Oleg mentioned one, did he not?
  99. Arte: *Guess I'll get on Siegfried and canter on over if you're somehow not dead yet (D)*
  100. Haretsu: ...go on.
  101. Davik Nettles: "Aye. A woman carrying two hatchets, and does she know how to use 'em. Not like you'd be able to tell how wicked she is at first glance."
  102. Davik Nettles: "She has a way of hiding her true intentions. Don't be fooled by her childish looks; behind that fair face is a ruthless demon in a lass' body."
  103. Haretsu: Fair face and a red hood...?
  104. Tarron: My, she sounds familiar indeed! We must watch out for anyone carrying hatchets.
  105. Arte: You, explain what's going on here. He hasn't threatened you, right?
  106. Arte: *To uh « 1d2 = 1 » 1 Harry 2 LK
  107. Arte: *
  108. Davik Nettles: "She often struts wearing a red hood, but enough about her. Who I really want is that Stag Lord. Throw his body in the river as soon as you possibly can."
  109. Haretsu: *turns to* Technically, yes he has. We've moved beyond that though, and have just been discerning the truth of what our visitors last night told us.
  110. Arte: Oh, you mean those...eh, can't be too sure of myself just yet. What's he said?
  111. Haretsu: It seems he used to be the tollkeeper here, before the Stag Lord killed him for not offering free passage - and that Ms. Red is one of his associates. That, and as far as I can tell, we're not allowed to cross until he's dead.
  112. Arte: Hm. I'm more amazed this turned out to be true at all. I was expecting a trap.
  113. Lightkeeper: *Strums imaginary guitar* "Sounds too silly to be a trap"
  114. Arte: Yeah, that just made it seem more like one. Stupid people come up with stupid lies.
  115. Arte: Like Boo-Boo. Now, Mr. Skeleton, you won't let us pass at all?
  116. Davik Nettles: "Not allowed to cross? Oh heaven's no, you can cross all you please."
  117. Tarron: Oh, what if that WAS his name? He seemed like a Boo-Boo.
  118. Davik Nettles: "I'll just have to dispel the illusion I cast to trap the usual bandit horde."
  119. Tarron: Illusion! My, what sort?
  120. Davik Nettles: The skeleton snaps his bony fingers, and in an instant, the once sturdy bridge dissipates into not much more than a thick, sagging rope hanging across the river.
  121. Haretsu: ...well then, I'm glad we rang the bell.
  122. Davik Nettles: "I wish you good luck in taking down those bastards once and for all."
  123. Tarron: Oh. I was expecting something flashier.
  124. Arte: ...Okay, look, there another way to cross? Siegfried here, he hasn't had circus training.
  125. Arte: Don't expect he could walk a tightrope.
  126. Davik Nettles: the skeleton sinks back into the river "I can't really help you with that."
  127. Haretsu: (( *headdesk* ))
  128. Davik Nettles: www.youtube.com/watch?v=hod0WtYE4SA
  129. Davik Nettles: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hod0WtYE4SA
  130. Haretsu: *IS THIS PART OF THE RIVER ANY... LESS FAST*
  131. Arte: Aaaaaarrghg! So nothing was accomplished.
  132. Haretsu: *FUCKING HELL (D)*
  133. Hendrix: The rapids lead into the rubble of old bridge remnants. Unless you're really good at swimming, drowning looks like a very real possibility.
  134. Haretsu: ...seems that way. Dammit. Where did those bandits manage to cross?
  135. Tarron: There is still that other bridge! Or, they could have climbed along the rope. That is a possibility, only, not for poor Siegfried!
  136. Haretsu: Given the time, I COULD come up with a way to reduce his size so he would be light enough to cross the bridge... maybe. *conservation of mass ain't exist in this, deal with it* But for now, this may as well be a dead end.
  137. Lightkeeper: *Strums not-guitar* "The things we do for berries."
  138. Arte: As I said before, we could leave him on this side. We won't be gone for long, and he's a hellbeast. He can take whatever comes his way. If it's bandits he'll even have that skeleton on his side.
  139. Hendrix: You have fully explored Nettles crossing, which nets you 100 exp
  140. Arte: (( Is there a regular encounter rate for exploring it ))
  141. Haretsu: « 1d100 = 16 » *there might be, lemme roll it*
  142. Haretsu: *awshit*
  143. Hendrix: 15% chance, you're good for now
  144. Haretsu: *DAMMIT (D)*
  145. Arte: (( right we probably should mark the places we've fully explored ))
  146. Arte: (( just put a check in the box I guess ))
  147. Arte: (( probably what they're there for ))
  148. Hendrix: unprobable
  149. Arte: (( or fill it in ))
  150. Haretsu: And my donkey? I'm not sure he could cross the bridge on his own... and he's carrying the bulk of my supplies. If we made it quick, then we could get there and back again in time.
  151. Arte: *we didn't EXPLORE the berry patch yet*
  152. Haretsu: (( we didn't actually EXPLORE the indeed* ))
  153. Arte: *It was just marked on our map*
  154. Arte: *We explored the area above it though, IIRC*
  155. Hendrix: I in fact meant to mark that one
  156. Hendrix: brain fart I guess
  157. Haretsu: (( right, Tirk ))
  158. Haretsu: (( you can Ctrl+Z ))
  159. Haretsu: (( to delete things that you drew ))
  160. Haretsu: (( no more faggy erase tool ))
  161. Hendrix: uh yeah, why
  162. Arte: (( indeed, as otherwise ))
  163. Arte: (( maptool uses layer masking ))
  164. Arte: (( so "erasing" things just drops more shit on top of them ))
  165. Hendrix: Then that would erase all those other checks I made
  166. Arte: (( thus causing more lag ))
  167. Hendrix: because I made them afterwards
  168. Haretsu: (( no it wouldn't ))
  169. Arte: (( Naw, it only d--ah ))
  170. Haretsu: (( well... it's a -CHECK- ))
  171. Haretsu: (( not a complicated drawing of Cirno ))
  172. Haretsu: (( You didn't have to undo ALL of them, shit (D) ))
  173. Haretsu: (( the layer mask was like oh whatever let's go on ))
  174. Hendrix: I sorta did
  175. Haretsu: *so yeah it's like... what, early afternoon now*
  176. Hendrix: Sounds about right
  177. Hendrix: Where do you wish to go from here
  178. Arte: *I say we just go get the fucking berries*
  179. Arte: *even without Siegfried I'm no different than if I were a Fighter*
  180. Haretsu: So... they said if we wanted to meet them, we should be in that area in the early afternoon over the next three days. Let's try to... not.
  181. Haretsu: As I assume we'd be avoiding the trio for the time being.
  182. Arte: Yeah, that's right. Guess we can't leave Siegfried HERE, if we're planning to get those berries. It's already been a few days since we talked to that old man.
  183. Haretsu: *so yeah let's move back west one square for the time being*
  184. Arte: *well aight I was just going to send Siegfried this way but k*
  185. Hendrix: At this location, you can see a gigantic tree that I probably should have pointed out before because it's a landmark technically, so yeah.
  186. Haretsu: *you can do whatever you need to do, pretty sure we're still going west though hippo*
  187. Arte: (( >landmark ))
  188. Arte: (( m ))
  189. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  190. Tarron: My! How in the heavens did we miss that before?
  191. Hendrix: This 100 foot tall tree is visible for miles around
  192. Haretsu: I... have no idea. Maybe we were all looking the wrong direction.
  193. Hendrix: From what you can barely make out of the bottom of the tree, you can see a few tiny blue men dragging a small lizard-like being into one of the roots.
  194. Haretsu: (( wait why is there a drawing of the pope looking to the right ))
  195. Haretsu: (( or maybe it's a spotlight pointing to the upper left ))
  196. Haretsu: (( or a tearduct being poked at by a triangle ))
  197. Tarron: (( it's a fish ))
  198. Haretsu: *uh, hell kind of knowledge would that be to identify them*
  199. Haretsu: *Knowledge (Children's Cartoons)?
  200. Hendrix: sure why not
  201. Tarron: (( Nature, probably ))
  202. Arte: So anyone else see that?
  203. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+8 = 8 + 8 = 16 » I have Nature/Arcana, whichever applies => Invalid expression: « 1d20+8 = 8 + 8 = 16 » I have Nature/Arcana, whichever applies.
  204. You whisper to Agi: you can tell the little blue men are Mites. Descended from even smaller fey, the mites are among the most pitiful and craven dwellers of the dark. Hideously ugly, even goblins have been known to mock mites for their homely appearances, mockery most mites take to heart and nurture for weeks, months, or even years in their tiny homes, until their distress and anger finally overcome their natural cowardice and impel them forth on short-lived bouts of bloody vengeance from the doubtful safety of a spider's back.
  205. Haretsu: *yes I see it, waiting to know if I know what it is*
  206. Haretsu: *whoaaa seems I do*
  207. Haretsu: Huh. Looks like this tree is home to a Mite colony.
  208. Arte: What?
  209. Lightkeeper: *Strums air guitar* "Mites, huh? I hear they've been fightin' an awful lot with the Kobolds around here. No surprises here."
  210. Haretsu: Oh, that's just what the blue creatures are called. A subspecies of fey.
  211. Tarron: Fey? Are they good kind, or the bad kind?
  212. Tarron: the*
  213. Haretsu: The ugly kind. They typically don't attack unless provoked though. You say there's been some battles lately, Lightkeeper?
  214. Haretsu: It's definitely worth making a note of on the map.
  215. Lightkeeper: "Yep. Such ugly violence among them recently, seems to be a cute little war of some kind."
  216. Tarron: Ugly AND cute!
  217. Lightkeeper: "That's just my observation though~"
  218. Haretsu: (( Hideously ugly, even goblins have been known to mock mites for their homely appearances, ))
  219. Haretsu: (( I dunno, Tarron (D) ))
  220. Haretsu: (( I dunno (D ))
  221. Arte: (( did you not read what LK said ))
  222. Arte: (( ugly violence, cute war ))
  223. Haretsu: (( Ah, I thought those were said simultaneously ))
  224. Haretsu: (( hippo ))
  225. Arte: It's my opinion that we should keep out of their business for now. Whatever they're planning for that thing, chances are high that has it coming.
  226. Haretsu: Indeed, let nature take its course.
  227. Lightkeeper: "Let us continue on the road then~ (for as long as our rations keep up)"
  228. Haretsu: *but let's definitely make camp AWAY from these things*
  229. Haretsu: *I'm down to two days' rations, should be fine*
  230. Haretsu: *could take some time to hunt*
  231. Arte: *we can explore this hex, I guess*
  232. Arte: *and hunt while doing so*
  233. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 85 » Did somebody say exploooore
  234. Hendrix: just take your 100 exp and leave
  235. Haretsu: *we can't specifically try to find an encounter? (wary)*
  236. Hendrix: That's a good question
  237. Hendrix: I guess you can trigger an automatic encounter if you want
  238. Haretsu: *BEAR is ideal apparently, but uh, elk, deer, anything native that can put up a fight for XP purposes*
  239. Haretsu: *dunno if this counts as plain*
  240. Arte: *why do we want Exp*
  241. Arte: *we're looking for food*
  242. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 12 » too bad it's all random
  243. Haretsu: *bear = food and XP (D)*
  244. Hendrix: « 1d4 = 4 » consider yourself lucky
  245. Arte: (( no. ))
  246. Hendrix: Near a bush you can find a family of 4 boars hogging it up. Now you wait here while I wonder why I didn't make any boar tokens.
  247. Arte: (( Shit four boars. ))
  248. Arte: (( If only I had a boar spear (SAD) ))
  249. Haretsu: (( Aaalways with the b_ars ))
  250. Haretsu: *might as well knowledge (Nature) roll, I have NO idea if that lets me know CR or anything useful*
  251. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+8 = 12 + 8 = 20 » But it might => Invalid expression: « 1d20+8 = 12 + 8 = 20 » But it might.
  252. Arte: (( boars have no visibly ordained clerics ))
  253. Arte: *damn these some tightly-grouped boars*
  254. Tokens dropped onto map 'Road place thing'
  255. Tokens dropped onto map 'Road place thing'
  256. You whisper to Agi: Much more ill-tempered and dangerous than their domesticated kin, boars are omnivorous creatures common to temperate forests, although they are not unknown in tropical climes. These boards look healthy, full grown, and ready to gut you at a moment's notice.
  257. Haretsu: (( These boards look healthy, full grown, and ready to gut you at a moment's notice. ))
  258. Haretsu: (( aw shit ))
  259. Haretsu: (( army of planks ))
  260. Haretsu: (( Lightkeeper continues to be mysterious ))
  261. Arte: (( as do you ))
  262. Hendrix: and of course they're tightly grouped, they're huddled around a bush, chewing on herbs and stuff.
  263. Tarron: They certainly do look ferocious!
  264. Arte: Yeah that bush never saw em coming.
  265. Arte: How're we going about this?
  266. Haretsu: I hope I don't have to act as bait for all four of these...
  267. Haretsu: .
  268. Lightkeeper: "Do you really plan on hunting a pack of boars? I hear they can be incredibly viscious around these parts."
  269. Lightkeeper: "It's not uncommon to see travellers getting impaled on a regular basis for messing with them, you see."
  270. Arte: However true that may be, we've got to eat, and these ration packs don't do much for Samson.
  271. Arte: Siegfried*
  272. Arte: *I am not Zach
  273. Arte: *I proved this just last session
  274. Haretsu: Separating them would certainly make them easier to deal with.
  275. Arte: Or we could shoot them. Thin their ranks before they know what's happening.
  276. Tarron: My, is there a way to spread them out?
  277. Lightkeeper: "*sigh* "If we really do have a death wish, I could always create a distracting image for them."
  278. Arte: Wouldn't they all see it?
  279. Lightkeeper: "Anything we do would result in them all noticing it, sadly."
  280. Haretsu: ...what about, say, an image of a wall?
  281. Haretsu: Or something preventing them from seeing us.
  282. Arte: If they can't see us, we can't see them.
  283. Haretsu: But we CAN hear them to know if they're retreating. If we readied our aim before the illusion was in place, they should still be there when the wall comes up.
  284. Arte: In theory, that might work, but in practice, I'm not so sure.
  285. Arte: We can try it, but if they charge the wall that suddenly appeared out of nowhere, we'll be in trouble.
  286. Haretsu: Well, right now they're distracted by their meal...
  287. Haretsu: A dirt wall, or maybe tangling vines? Would they really try to charge through those?
  288. Arte: I think it';s a good idea to use that to our advantage, instead of attempting a sort of double distraction. If they think it shot them, maybe.
  289. Lightkeeper: "This is something that involves an awful lot of variables"
  290. Tarron: Would a boar truly think a wall capable of shooting them?
  291. Haretsu: (( also in an hour I think I AM going to go get some of this DLC while McDonalds' wifi is still up and running ))
  292. Arte: Don't know, I'm not a boar. But they're not smart.
  293. Arte: (( you could like, wait until tomorrow to play it or something ))
  294. Arte: (( save yourself a five-hour trip ))
  295. Haretsu: (( I really cannot do that (D) ))
  296. Haretsu: (( if I put it down then I will NEVER PICK IT UP AGAIN (D) ))
  297. Arte: (( just fucking go now then (D) ))
  298. Arte: (( It's not as if one of us can't control you during a random boar battle ))
  299. Arte: (( better than waiting until we're in the middle of RPing ))
  300. Haretsu: (( it closes in two hours, so I guess once the battle's over then ))
  301. Arte: (( that...defeats the point of what I just said ))
  302. Arte: (( hippo ))
  303. Hendrix: At the rate you're going, you'll be about 3 hours late
  304. Haretsu: *well in that case I guess yeah, I'll just dubble up, mutagen and shield for 23 AC, then lob bombs when possible, crossbow when not, ain't like it's complex at the moment*
  305. Haretsu: *initiative is +5*
  306. Haretsu: *I shall make this quick*
  307. Arte: (( how many bombs do you have ))
  308. Haretsu: *all of them*
  309. Haretsu: *five*

Tarron: (( On the character's next turn, after being reduced to negative hit points (but not dead), and on all subsequent turns, the character must make a DC 10 Constitution check to become stable. The character takes a penalty on this roll equal to his negative hit point total. A character that is stable does not need to make this check. A natural 20 on this check is an automatic success. If the character fails this check, he loses 1 hit point. ))
  401. Tarron: « 1d20+2-1 = 9 + 2 - 1 = 10 » *well okay*

  447. Siegfried: *dese d8s*
  448. Arte: *DO you heal when you level up in pathfinder, as in, the same amount of HP you gained, assuming you're conscious*
  449. Arte: (( I assume we now wait for agi ))
  450. Lightkeeper: well duh
  451. Hendrix: and uh, I guess so
  452. Tarron: *damn me and my -1*
  453. Haretsu: (( that took a fair bit longer than expected due to literally thing that could go wrong going wrong ))
  454. Haretsu: (( how long has it been paused (wary) ))
  455. Haretsu: *uh*

  467. Tarron: (( um, 700 ))
  468. Tarron: (( we leveled up ))
  469. Haretsu: *oh, an even 700*

  471. Tarron: (( and everyone with a d8 ))
  472. Tarron: (( got an 8. ))
  473. Tarron: (( Arte got a 4 (SAD) ))
  474. Tokens dropped onto map 'Road place thing'
  475. Haretsu-10: I am totally keeping the rolls I already made
  476. Haretsu-10: LEVEL 2 1d8 > = 6 + 2 + FCB = 9
  477. Arte: (( huh, I did that too ))
  478. Haretsu: Let's see what I would've got
  479. Haretsu: « 1d8+2+1 = 7 + 2 + 1 = 10 »
  480. Haretsu: awww
  481. Tokens dropped onto map 'Road place thing'
  482. Haretsu: But yeah I'm sticking with what I already did
  483. Arte: ...
  484. Arte10: « 1d10+2+1 = 4 + 2 + 1 = 7 »
  485. Arte10: mip
  486. Arte10: So yeah, nothing was lost
  487. Arte10: next two levels are just 9s.

  494. Haretsu: (( Just need another formula and skills then ))
  495. Arte: *I invested in swim*
  496. Haretsu: (( Clearly ))
  497. Arte: *For when something goes terribly, terribly wrong*
  498. Haretsu: (( I should get Jump ))
  499. Haretsu: (( for the express purpose of clearing the river ))
  500. Arte: (( you uh, have more than that ))
  501. Haretsu: (( oh it's only +10 ))
  502. Arte: (( 2nd +1 +3 +3 +0 Discovery, poison resistance +2, poison use ))
  503. Haretsu: (( Yeah I know ))
  504. Haretsu: (( Already have those ))
  505. Haretsu: (( Formula and skills is just all I have LEFT. ))
  506. Haretsu: (( Could get Targeted Bomb Admixture, +4 damage to not do splash is pretty good ))
  507. Haretsu: (( particularly when it means I don't hit you ))
  508. Arte: (( I hate this fucking map so much. ))
  509. Arte: (( Fucking Berserk. ))
  510. Haretsu: *sure I'll take that- oh shit Tarron got gored, when did that happen*
  511. Arte: (( she passed her stabilize roll first round so she's fine ))
  512. Arte: (( hippo ))
  513. Haretsu: *righto, saved then*
  514. Hendrix: Right, so
  515. Hendrix: You decide to have your lovely boar dinner out here in the wild
  516. Arte: *Right I uh, should probably unmount and...how the fuck do you revive someone in pathfinder anyways*
  517. Hendrix: Heal check
  518. Arte: *IT SEEMS WE HAVE REACHED AN IMPASSE*
  519. Haretsu: (( not just... potions? ))
  520. Haretsu: (( Shit we have plenty ))
  521. Hendrix: sure, there are those too

  523. Arte: (( this ain't PTA ))
  524. Hendrix: Actually I'm...pretty sure you can
  525. Hendrix: I dunno lemme check
  526. Haretsu: (( Yeah probably good to check ))
  527. Haretsu: (( I just got Infusion, I could use one of my own ))
  528. Haretsu: (( save us the money ))
  529. Arte: *have to do long-term care hippo*
  530. Arte: *to RESTORE HP*
  531. Hendrix: >A character can carefully administer a potion to an unconscious creature as a full-round action, trickling the liquid down the creature's throat. Likewise, it takes a full-round action to apply an oil to an unconscious creature.
  532. Arte: *Yeah should do that then*
  533. Arte: *or you can prepare one, you just got a new spell slot*
  534. Haretsu: *I only prepared Shield so far anyhow*
  535. Arte: *Move needs to not be right next to fucking impersonate*
  536. Arte: You, either of you, what can you do about this?! You've got magic, right? Hers can heal...what about yours?
  537. Haretsu: *gruffly* Let me take care of it, I've still got some of my personal supply...
  538. Tarron: *oh hey I got Color Spray I can do things besides fucking act like a RAnger now*
  539. Haretsu: Damned boars going after her... « 1d8+2 = 6 + 2 = 8 »
  540. Haretsu: *notbad*
  541. Haretsu: *was she just*
  542. Haretsu: *the only one to take damage*
  543. Tarron: *I was at -1*
  544. Tarron: *and yes, yes I was I think*
  545. Tarron: *Don't think they HIT LK*
  546. Haretsu: You alright there, Tarron?
  547. Arte: Thanks! Tarron, how hurt are you?!
  548. Haretsu: *did the hit die actually grant you HP?*
  549. Haretsu: *like, from levelling up? Or are you just at 7 hippo*
  550. Tarron: Yes and not too badly! Not to say it didn't hurt, but I will live! Especially if I heal myself! Ah, speaking of which, I thank whoever that was!
  551. Tarron: *I was at -1, we ruled you don't become conscious from leveling I guess*
  552. Tarron: *Arte's current HP went up*
  553. Haretsu: *grin* Heh, not a problem. Usually I don't like handing my own stuff out, but... well, guess it's okay with you guys.
  554. Lightkeeper: *Strums the air* "We should be thankful we made it out relatively un-deathed. Being surrounded by a pack of wild boars is rarely a good place to be in."
  555. Arte: I'll keep this in mind. Next time, we should definitely stay further out of range.
  556. Arte: Good to see you're okay, Tarron...Still, let's take it easy. Rest here.
  557. Haretsu: Let's get that fire going then. I'll bet Siegfried's just as hungry as I am, or more.
  558. Siegfried: *I'm more worried about the whole Tarron nearly dying thing but yeah I could stand to eat the boar that OHKO'd her (D)*
  559. Tarron: I wouldn't quite say "okay", but I can alleviate my own wounds! « 1d8+2 = 7 + 2 = 9 »
  560. Tarron: *yes, yes I can*
  561. Haretsu: *what's your max HP now anyway, 21?*
  562. Tarron: *20*
  563. Haretsu: *not bad*
  564. Haretsu: *hell're you putting FCB into*
  565. Tarron: *Coat of Many Stars*
  566. Haretsu: *is there just a really good favor- wha*
  567. Haretsu: *+1/3 or something to some Revelation?*
  568. Tarron: Oracle Add +1/2 to the oracle's level for the purpose of determining the effects of one revelation.
  569. Haretsu: *ah gotcha*
  570. Tarron: *So yes, let us eat our pig, did they have any tre--right guess we can sell their hides*
  571. Haretsu: *appraises the SHIT outta those hides « 1d20+8 = 2 + 8 = 10 »*
  572. Haretsu: *right it's supposed to be hidden*
  573. Haretsu: *so clearly, that doesn't count*
  574. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+8 = 20 + 8 = 28 » clearly => Invalid expression: « 1d20+8 = 20 + 8 = 28 » clearly.
  575. Haretsu: (( awww shit ))
  576. Haretsu: (( These DLC maps ))
  577. Haretsu: (( Just NES-era music ))
  578. Hendrix: what are you even doing to those hides
  579. Haretsu: (( glorious ))
  580. Haretsu: (( Trying to figure out how much they'll be worth ))
  581. Haretsu: (( for if they're worth hauling back in the first place ))
  582. Haretsu: (( hippo ))
  583. You whisper to Agi: they're each worth about 5 GP
  584. Haretsu: *during some point of the process of preparing them* Might be worth hauling these hides back as well... the lot of them together will fetch another 20 gp or so.
  585. Haretsu: (( ALSO I really need to piss so brb again ))
  586. Arte: So long as that donkey's fine with carrying them. Siegfried's strong, but he needs to be limber.
  587. Arte: Can't carry a whole lot into battle.
  588. Hendrix: So yeah get your grubby mitts over to the map screen, it's a brand spankin' new day after that yummy boar meal.
  589. Arte: *I think you heal 1 HP per night of rest or something?*
  590. Hendrix: sure let's go with that
  591. Arte: *er, 1 HP per level*
  592. Hendrix: So 2 HP
  593. Hendrix: We'll say resting at Oleg's or a similar location fully heals you
  594. Arte: *and yeah may as well throw a check somwhere on that, as we explored it*
  595. Donkey: *donkey will carry 'em sure*
  596. Donkey: *let's say 6 pounds each no real reason to be anal about it*
  597. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  598. Lightkeeper: "Where to this time, chief-o~"
  599. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  600. Tarron: We're crossing the river today, are we not? We need to get those berries sometime...
  601. Haretsu: Yeah, that's the plan. We may want to spend the night on the other side to avoid a run-in with our bandit friends.
  602. Arte: No one in their right mind would attack Siegfried, even if he was alone. So I'll agree to that.
  603. Arte: *So yeah, going to the west once more*
  604. Arte: *dat 1*
  605. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 19 »
  606. Arte: *naw*
  607. Hendrix: carry on
  608. Arte: *aaand now we gotta cross the bridge*
  609. Arte: *god help us*
  610. Arte: Let's go over this one at a time. I'm probably the heaviest. At the same time, I'm probably the best swimmer. Odds of this thing breaking?
  611. Haretsu: *DUNNO, SHOULD I APPRAISE THE BRIDGE*
  612. Haretsu: *GET US SOME ODDS HERE (D)*
  613. Haretsu: *ALSO HOLY SHIT WHY DO I ALREADY NEED TO PISS AGAIN*
  614. Haretsu: *BRB (D)*
  615. Hendrix: Prostate cancer
  616. Haretsu: *already RB*
  617. Haretsu: Odds are... *appraise roll 'cuz why not (D- or wait that'd be Knowledge (Engineering)
  618. Haretsu: *damn*
  619. Haretsu: *why is THAT not a class skill*
  620. Arte: *no idea*
  621. Arte: *does LK have--well he's a Bard, so I guess he can MAKE IT*
  622. Haretsu: *huh*
  623. Haretsu: *Expeditious Retreat might actually be useful here*
  624. Haretsu: *increase your swim speed. : |(
  625. Tarron: (( you have to have one ))
  626. Tarron: (( lol ))
  627. Haretsu: (( shaame ))
  628. Haretsu: This spell increases your base land speed by 30 feet. This adjustment is treated as an enhancement bonus. There is no effect on other modes of movement, such as burrow, climb, fly, or swim.
  629. Tarron: (( Though well, it'd increase your REGULAR speed, which in turn would increase swim speed and holy fuck maptool quit this shit ))
  630. Haretsu: *so yeah wouldn't do anything*
  631. Tarron: *Huh, you can take ten on swim checks, which would make Arte able to get past it*
  632. Hendrix: From observation, the bridge doesn't look like it's gonna collapse on top of itself any time soon, but pushing any weight limits seems to be obviously unwise.
  633. Haretsu: Just... take it slowly.
  634. Haretsu: That's all the advice I can offer.
  635. Arte: That's the plan. *do I need to make a check or anything to go over it*
  636. Tarron: Do be safe, Arte.
  637. Arte: *isn't*
  638. Haretsu: ...and we ARE going to have to carry those berries back... hopefully they don't weigh all too much.
  639. Haretsu: *do we have anything, anything at all*
  640. Haretsu: *to carry them in*
  641. Hendrix: Going over the bridge, it groans and creaks ominously every step you take
  642. Hendrix: Just don't look down and you should be fine
  643. Arte: You'd think someone would have rebuilt this piece of junk by now. Even the bandits! It's safe enough, you three.
  644. Haretsu: Right. I'll come across next then.
  645. Donkey: *donkey is glad he does not have to cross the bridge*
  646. Hendrix: So long as only one of you goes across at a time, everything goes swell and dandy.
  647. Donkey: *donkey has had EXPERIENCE with bridges*
  648. Siegfried: *You have me as a guard*
  649. Siegfried: *Be glad we just ate*
  650. Donkey: *DID THEY LEAVE ANY BOAR FOR YOU TO CHEW ON*
  651. Siegfried: right
  652. Siegfried: we're traveling into/exploring dat berry area
  653. Siegfried: berrea
  654. Siegfried: HOPEFULLY NOT A BEAREA.
  655. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 28 »
  656. Siegfried: No superbears around the berries?
  657. Hendrix: You go into the vast expanse of the fangberry thicket. A dense patch of rare rasperry-like berries known as fangberries grows in a long, thin valley between two low hills here.
  658. Hendrix: Much of the thorny thicket is draped in what seems to be the white gossamer silk of spider webs.
  659. Haretsu: (( well fuck ))
  660. Haretsu: (( here's hoping they aren't GIANT spiders ))
  661. Hendrix: So anyone wanna make a nature or survival check
  662. Arte: « 1d20+7 = 4 + 7 = 11 » *sure, Survival*
  663. Arte: *naw*
  664. * Agi rolls secretly to you: « 1d20+9 = 12 + 9 = 21 » Incoming nature => Invalid expression: « 1d20+9 = 12 + 9 = 21 » Incoming nature.
  665. Haretsu: *rolled*
  666. Arte: *right they have to be private, but whatever*
  667. Arte: *unless you want me to reroll I won't*
  668. You whisper to Agi: the best of the berries lie at the heart of the thicket, but harvesting must be done slowly to avoid being lacerated by the thousands of fangberry thorns. The web that infests the thicket are the product of what seem to be chew spiders- a species of aggressive spider the size of a man's thumb and with particularly large fangs.
  669. Haretsu: I hope no one here has arachnophobia. We're going to want to make sure we're covered up anyway, these fangberries were named well.
  670. Haretsu: Are any of you familiar with chew spiders...?
  671. Lightkeeper: "I didn't expect anything called 'fangberries' to be easy to harvest anyway."
  672. Arte: So even the berries bite you. It's not wonder nobody's reclaimed this place.
  673. Tarron: It IS rather wild! They sound interesting!
  674. Hotel Mario: REMEMBUH
  675. Hotel Mario: WHEN YOU PINCH WENDY'S BERRIES
  676. Hotel Mario: THEY PINCH BACK
  677. Haretsu: The best of the crop's going to be near the middle of all this.
  678. Tarron: I cannot say I've heard of the chew variety of spider! Hopefully THEY are not well-named?
  679. Haretsu: Sadly, they are. Doesn't take much to provoke them either. *are they poisonous, that wasn't really addressed in the dump*
  680. Arte: Can't set the webbing on fire, we'd burn the berries, too.
  681. Arte: I didn't think we'd be facing something like this when I left Siegfried over there... We've got to find a workaround eventually.
  682. Haretsu: *awshit Tirk died*
  683. Hendrix: I'm still here negroe
  684. Haretsu: *well're they poisonous or not*
  685. Haretsu: *kind of important*
  686. Hendrix: Yes, the bite of the chew spider is poisonous
  687. Haretsu: *dammi*
  688. Haretsu: t*
  689. Arte: We're not rushing headlong into this. First off, we need to LOOK for the spiders themselves.
  690. Haretsu: *gives thumbs up, clenches with opposing hand* You're going to be looking for something about this size, and *general description*. Watch out, they're poisonous in addition to the bite. Last thing you want is to get swarmed by a group of them.
  691. Tarron: *wait, so they're small as all fuck?*
  692. Tarron: *That's bad*
  693. Haretsu: *size of a thumb indeed*
  694. Tarron: Oh, I was expecting something larger! That may not be so bad! But poison...it seems I will get to use this before long after all! *Coat of Many Stars, +4 armor bonus to AC, so really +2 to AC*
  695. Tarron: *as armor bonuses do not stack*
  696. Haretsu: Interesting... what is that you're doing there?
  697. Arte: Forgotten you could do that! Hope it doesn't attract the spiders' attention.
  698. Tarron: Hmhmhm, those spirits are not simple bothers! They can protect me just as well. *and it's pretty much...stars surrounding me I guess, coat of starry radiance it seems*
  699. Hendrix: You don't arouse the anger of the spiders just yet, but you do catch the attention of a single one
  700. Haretsu: Seems they've been doing a fair bit more protecting than bothering! Let's hope they keep it up.
  701. Hendrix: it stares you down, looking
  702. Hendrix: watching
  703. Hendrix: waiting
  704. Hendrix: judging
  705. Haretsu: *points* That's what we're watching out for, right there.
  706. Arte: I see it. And, unfortunately, it also sees us.
  707. Arte: ...No ideas?
  708. Haretsu: Against a single spider?
  709. Arte: ONE of them, sure, but it's not the only one.
  710. Haretsu: I'd like to see the man who can shoot a spider out of its web.
  711. Arte: With these things, it's like shooting a bird that can't fly and doesn't move.
  712. Arte: It can't be too hard.
  713. Arte: I guess our best option is to try and burn the webs away, you've got those bombs, right?
  714. Haretsu: I was never really all that handy with a bow... but I guess it's about the size of a bullseye on a target?
  715. Lightkeeper: "We could always lure the spiders out and burn them right there~"
  716. Arte: Well if you know a way to do that, go ahead and say. Probably won't leave their web if we just scare them...
  717. Tarron: Um, do they dislike water? Any animals they are especially afraid of?
  718. Lightkeeper: "Hmm, I'm no expert on arachnids, so I'm not all too certain what grabs a spider's attention..."
  719. Tarron: Oh! Or light?
  720. Haretsu: *no idea, didn't get a weakness from my roll*
  721. Lightkeeper: "Hmm, I do know swarms of spiders are mostly accustomed to pitch darkness."
  722. Lightkeeper: "After all, I doubt much light gets inside these thickets."
  723. Tarron: Well then! Light may drive the beasts out! Would it be best to wait until nighttime?
  724. Haretsu: How long does that light of yours last?
  725. Tarron: That varies! The regular spell, not so long. But the powerful one, for a long while!
  726. Lightkeeper: "This thicket is dark enough, the night shade is probably unnessecary.
  727. Tarron: *Ten minutes/level*
  728. Tarron: *If we can't beat some fucking spiders in 20 minutes, we're doomed anyways*
  729. Haretsu: Right, that just leaves the problem of clearing out a path.
  730. Arte: We can do that AFTER we kill the things.
  731. Arte: The goal's to get them out of their webs.
  732. Haretsu: (( How big is this thicket anyway ))
  733. Tarron: *Right this should do*
  734. Tarron: (( it's around the size of your average everyday thicket ))
  735. Hendrix: >A dense patch of rare raspberry-like berries known as fangberries grows in a long, thin valley between two low hills here. Much of the thorny thicket is draped in the white gossamer silk of spider webs.
  736. Tarron: (( about 1 thicket by 1 thicket ))
  737. Hendrix: I suppose that should give you a reasonable estimate
  738. Tarron: (( Yeah it's kinda biglike ))
  739. Hendrix: http://ih3.redbubble.net/image.5105132.3331/poster,375x360,ffffff.jpg
  740. Hendrix: imagine this
  741. Hendrix: but with webs
  742. Haretsu: (( I can just imagine the shit smears as webs ))
  743. Tarron: Is everyone prepared?
  744. Lightkeeper: "I'm as prepared as need be"
  745. Arte: *oh right Dazzling Display is a STandard Action for me, so I can do it on a surprise round*
  746. Haretsu: I suppose so... let me just quickly prepare this, so that I can use a bomb or two without burning down the whole thicket.
  747. Haretsu: *yeah it'll be just a minute to prepare Targeted Bomb Admixture*
  748. Tarron: *Right you cannot into your mutagen anymore*
  749. Haretsu: *and it is indeed literally "a round or two"*
  750. Haretsu: (( Wait why not ))
  751. Tarron: *you...can only use it on--right this is a different day from the boar fight*
  752. Tarron: *Or well, I think it takes an hour to prepare it*
  753. Haretsu: (( ...huh, so it does ))
  754. Haretsu: (( I somehow never noticed that ))
  755. Tarron: *welp let's do this then and pray we don't die*
  756. Tarron: *takes out crossbow bolt* Daylight!
  757. Tarron: *now to fire it into the thicket*
  758. Tarron: *as it's a better option than going in there myself : |*
  759. Haretsu: *THAT'S what you're doing? Okaaaay*
  760. Tarron: *as yo ucast Daylight on an item*
  761. Tarron: *not just...anywhere*
  762. Haretsu: *I figured we were just...*
  763. Haretsu: *using it as a torch*
  764. Haretsu: *to keep them away*
  765. Tarron: *we want to kill them*
  766. Hendrix: You idiotically decide to fire a daylight bolt into the thicket, except it wasn't quite idiotic, as the spiders quite clearly didn't like it, and a swarm are now angrily storming out of the thicket.
  767. Tarron: *So that Bokken can do this shit himself*
  768. Tarron: *and they'd probably just get pissed and begin to attack*
  769. Tarron: *like that*
  770. Haretsu: ...that's NOT EXACTLY WHAT I HAD IN MIND, OKAY
  771. Haretsu: *YEAH MUTAGEN HOLY SHIT WOMAN*
  772. Haretsu: *WAIT WHERE IS THIS WE NEED A MAP*
  773. Tarron: Oh, it's more fun this way! And much more visually appealing.
  774. Haretsu: *WHAT IS YOUR WIS*
  775. Arte: (( 14 ))
  776. Haretsu: *IT CANNOT BE MORE THAN LIKE*
  777. Haretsu: *3*
  778. Hendrix: *Makes random filler last-second map with no bearing on anything, spawn where the kitty is
  779. Tokens dropped onto map 'random filler map'
  780. Arte: Tarron, I'm not sure that was a good idea!
  781. Arte: *wouldn't they be a Swarm*
  782. Haretsu: *YOU BECOME MORE AND MORE QUESTIONABLE EVERY DAY, TARRON*
  783. Chew Spiders: well duh
  784. Arte: *well shit there's two swarms*
  785. Haretsu: *wait that's all really*
  786. Chew Spiders: THAT'S HOW FUCKED YOU ARE
  787. Arte: *So shit we were that close to the thicket*
  788. Haretsu: *fortunately, I already had my potion in hand*
  789. Haretsu: « 1d20+5 = 12 + 5 = 17 » guess we init now
  790. Arte: « 1d20+1 = 1 + 1 = 2 » *welp*
  791. Arte: *WELP*
  792. Tarron: « 1d20+1 = 11 + 1 = 12 »
  793. Chew Spiders: The spiders are crawling out and boy are they PISSED! « 1d20+3 = 5 + 3 = 8 »
  794. Tarron: *WE REALLY DOIN THIS FAPTOOL*
  795. Chew Spiders 1: « 1d20+3 = 12 + 3 = 15 »
  796. Arte: *et tu, Lightkeeper?*
  797. Haretsu: *ductah righto*
  798. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+4 = 9 + 4 = 13 » I don't think so
  799. Haretsu: *this is where Accelerated Drinker comes in handy*
  800. Haretsu: *move action, drinks Targeted Bomb Admixture that I JUST prepared*
  801. Arte: *we had better go all-out with the hero points*
  802. Chew Spiders: Harry, Chew1, Lightkeeper, Tarron, Chew0, Arte
  803. Arte: *Yeah you bastards*
  804. Haretsu: « 1d20+7 = 13 + 7 = 20 » *tosses localized bomb at Chew Spider 1*
  805. Haretsu: « 1d6+4+4 = 4 + 4 + 4 = 12 » *pretty sure swarms are weak to fire, eat a dick*
  806. Arte: (( dunno if they are or not ))
  807. Arte: (( don't you have throw anything ))
  808. Arte: (( add one to that ))
  809. Haretsu: « 12+1 = 12 + 1 = 13 » right how did I miss that
  810. Haretsu: need to update it, forgot about that in the listed roll
  811. Tarron: *haw*
  812. Chew Spiders 1: You take out a bunch of spiders!
  813. Haretsu: *whew* Came up with that one just in time!
  814. Tarron: *You're up Lighty*
  815. Haretsu: (( A swarm takes half again as much damage (+50%) from spells or effects that affect an area, such as splash weapons and many evocation spells. ))
  816. Haretsu: (( well a'ight ))
  817. Tarron: (( sadly, yours didn't affect an area ))
  818. Tarron: (( So that didn't apply ))
  819. Haretsu: (( ...so it did not ))
  820. Haretsu: (( nevermind ))
  821. Tarron: *You better hope LK kills you*
  822. Tarron: *Because what awaits you from me is far worse*
  823. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+4 = 14 + 4 = 18 » I am unsure of the effectiveness of firing at a swarm of spiders, but stranger things have happened.
  824. Lightkeeper: « 1d6 = 1 »
  825. Tarron: (( don't you have point-blank shot yourself ))
  826. Tarron: (( and also base attack bonus is +! now ))
  827. Tarron: (( +1* ))
  828. Lightkeeper: (( hurp ))
  829. Haretsu: (( there's also this Traits: A swarm has no clear front or back and no discernible anatomy, so it is not subject to critical hits or flanking. A swarm made up of Tiny creatures takes half damage from slashing and piercing weapons. A swarm composed of Fine or Diminutive creatures is immune to all weapon damage. ))
  830. Tarron: (( PBS is also +1 damage ))
  831. Haretsu: (( >immune to all weapon damage ))
  832. Tarron: (( well, ass ))
  833. Lightkeeper: Hmm, not effective, not effective at all.
  834. Tarron: *naw nigga you slower than I am*
  835. Tarron: Maybe THIS will be! Um, watch yourselves!
  836. Tarron: *Color Spray*
  837. Tarron: *Save is 15*
  838. Tarron: *Cones are fucking weird*
  839. Chew Spiders: « 1d20 = 7 »
  840. Chew Spiders: aaaa colors anything but that
  841. Tarron: *how many HD does it have*
  842. Haretsu: *proobably not many*
  843. Tarron: (( 2 HD or less: The creature is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round. (Only living creatures are knocked unconscious.) 3 or 4 HD: The creature is blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, then stunned for 1 round. 5 or more HD: The creature is stunned for 1 round. ))
  844. Chew Spiders: 2
  845. Tarron: (( because it's kinda fucked either way ))
  846. Tarron: (( woo ))
  847. Tarron: « 2d4 = 5 » « 1d4 = 3 »
  848. Arte: What the hell was that!
  849. Chew Spiders: whatever describes getting unconscious and shit
  850. Haretsu: ...Wish you'd told me you could do THAT. Could've saved a mutagen.
  851. Tarron: Very, very alluring! They're happier now, I'm sure, painted as such.
  852. Arte: *Guess we better...kill...yeah it's up to you Harry*
  853. Haretsu: Flame on! Eh heh. « 1d20+7 = 14 + 7 = 21 » *wish I could CDG*
  854. Arte: *You could if you were right next to them, I think*
  855. Haretsu: « 1d6+5+4 = 4 + 5 + 4 = 13 » *let's just clean these niggas up*
  856. Arte: *Unless you just specifically cannot with splash weapons*
  857. Haretsu: *pretty sure you can't, no*
  858. Chew Spiders: the swarm entirely breaks apart, all burnt and shit.
  859. Haretsu: *I hope we can assume they're dead*
  860. Chew Spiders: 200 exp
  861. Arte: *let's like, I dunno, crush them and shit*
  862. Arte: *can't be too hard to kill a bunch of spiders*
  863. Hendrix: Doesn't seem to be any more spiders left for now, so it should be safe to pick some berries.
  864. Haretsu: *you really wanna clean your shoes off of that*
  865. Arte: *Could just walk around stabbign them*
  866. Haretsu: *sounds tedious*
  867. Tarron: *I'm going to go get my bolt back now*
  868. Tarron: *I "missed", so it didn't arbitrarily explode*
  869. Tarron: *and it cannot be hard to find*
  870. Arte: Right, so. Let's pick some berries.
  871. Arte: *oh, 50% chance of being destroyed or lost*
  872. Haretsu: Alright, let's work our way in then. Er... does anyone have a sickle? Something?
  873. Arte: *though seeing I CAN'T lose it it's probably 25% chance to be destroyed*
  874. Tarron: « 1d100 = 59 »
  875. Tarron: *naw*
  876. Hendrix: To properly harvest the berries, one must make a survival check.
  877. Arte: I don't even have a sword. Look like we'll have to pick them.
  878. * Thrice rolls to you: « 1d20+7 = 19 + 7 = 26 » => Invalid expression: « 1d20+7 = 19 + 7 = 26 ».
  879. Arte: (( damn it that was supposed to be secret ))
  880. Haretsu: *was thinking more like cleaning out the damned webs*
  881. Lightkeeper: It's not like any of them would be precise enough~
  882. Tarron: *just...grab a stick*
  883. Tarron: *to clear the webs*
  884. Haretsu: *right*
  885. Haretsu: *I keep thinking this is like*
  886. You whisper to Thrice: in about 10 minutes of work, you get enough berries for one potion/a day's meal.
  887. Haretsu: *giant spider webbing*
  888. Haretsu: *incredibly strong*
  889. Tarron: (( even if it were you don't have to cut it ))
  890. Tarron: (( just..wrap it around the stick ))
  891. Haretsu: (( Does the survival check need to be secret ))
  892. Hendrix: no, it really doesn't
  893. Haretsu: (( or wait did Thrice already roll it ))
  894. Tarron: (( It probably should be, but wasn't ))
  895. Tarron: (( it was a 26 (TIPSY) ))
  896. Haretsu: (( nooot bad ))
  897. Hendrix: quite
  898. Tarron: (( I rolled to the GM instead of secret ))
  899. Arte: How many'd the old guy ask for?
  900. Haretsu: As many as we could haul back.
  901. Lightkeeper: "Hmm, enough for a month's supply I recall. We'll need to be here a while~."
  902. Arte: ...Yeah. You got that right.
  903. Arte: *I don't even HAVE a backpack*
  904. Tarron: *neither do I, let's just stuff our pockets/pouches*
  905. Hendrix: So everyone who's gonna contribute to the picking should make survival checks
  906. Tarron: (( said it didn't need to be secret ))
  907. Haretsu: « 1d20-1 = 4 - 1 = 3 » weeeeell ass
  908. Tarron: (( guess they can SEE how well we're doing ))
  909. Tarron: « 1d20+2 = 3 + 2 = 5 » *welp
  910. Haretsu: I almost invested in survival this level
  911. Haretsu: you told me not to
  912. Haretsu: you bastard
  913. Tarron: (( would not have helped ))
  914. Lightkeeper: « 1d20+1 = 14 + 1 = 15 »
  915. Tarron: *damn you and your thinking to wear gloves*
  916. Hendrix: Literally everyone besides Arte takes « 1d6 = 5 » damage after the picking is finally done.
  917. Tarron: *Damn, a 15 wasn't enough*
  918. Hendrix: DC20
  919. Hendrix: quite brutal
  920. Tarron: *Jesus*
  921. Haretsu: ...eesh, sliced myself pretty bad there... at least I got a nice bunch of them. *huh, I think I actually DID get a backpack*
  922. Haretsu: *yep, totally did*
  923. Haretsu: *and it's pretty empty too*
  924. Lightkeeper: *Rubs gloves* "You'd think these would provite ample enough protection, but noooo~"
  925. Tarron: Ouch! You weren't kidding about these!
  926. Tarron: « 1d8+2 = 3 + 2 = 5 » *Fine have it your way Maptool*
  927. Tarron: *Great, heal exactly the same as what I took, why not*
  928. Haretsu: *may as well just do the same* « 1d8+2 = 3 + 2 = 5 »
  929. Arte: Huh? ...Wow, they got ALL of you?
  930. Haretsu: *mip*
  931. Haretsu: They didn't get YOU?
  932. Arte: Nope! Guess they know better.
  933. Lightkeeper: "Now, are we gonna get a move on back? I wouldn't wanna keep our pets waiting for too long after all~"
  934. Arte: We won't be back here for a long while, take solice in that.
  935. Lightkeeper: "I just cannot wait to return to the comfort of the marketplace."
  936. Arte: *turns to Kira* Sure, let's get out of here. They'll be just fine, I bet, but worth being safe.
  937. Tarron: *oh, right*
  938. Haretsu: *wait who the hell is Kira*
  939. Tarron: « 1d8+2 = 1 + 2 = 3 » *should heal you too*
  940. Lightkeeper: Lightkeeper
  941. Tarron: *mmmm*
  942. Lightkeeper: because y'know Light
  943. Haretsu: *ah*
  944. Lightkeeper: I'll be fine
  945. Tarron: Was...was that enough? It didn't look very strong...
  946. Haretsu: Thought we were spending the night on this side, getting another day of charting in to keep the bandits off our trail?
  947. Tarron: (( the picking probably took all day ))
  948. Tarron: (( lol ))
  949. Hendrix: it totes did
  950. Haretsu: *ah*
  951. Tarron: *so whoo I heal 2 HP*
  952. Haretsu: *I'll retract that statement then*
  953. Tarron: *from slepping*
  954. Haretsu: *down to a day's rations*
  955. Tarron: *and we get 100 Exp from exploring this place right*
  956. Haretsu: *guess I planned that well*
  957. Arte: *....*
  958. Arte: *HAHAHA*
  959. Arte: *My rations are with Siegfried (HIPPO)*
  960. Haretsu: *YOU MORON*
  961. Haretsu: *WELL I'VE TWO DAYS ON ME*
  962. Arte: « 1d20+7 = 10 + 7 = 17 » *A-HUNTING I SHALL GO I GUESS*
  963. Arte: *THAT'S ENOUGH TO GET SOME FOOD*
  964. Haretsu: *is it enough to provide for two*
  965. Arte: *I THINK SO*
  966. Hendrix: Oh, yes, you get 100 exp
  967. Arte: (( 10 Get along in the wild. Move up to half your overland speed while hunting and foraging (no food or water supplies needed). You can provide food and water for one other person for every 2 points by which your check result exceeds 10. ))
  968. Arte: (( it's enough for 4 ))
  969. Hendrix: yum
  970. Haretsu: *oh not bad*
  971. Arte: *So yeah, let's head on back to the thing with the stuff*
  972. Arte: *Unless we're ending here*
  973. Hendrix: We can try heading back to base I guess
  974. Tokens dropped onto map 'Import 1 of Grasslands'
  975. Arte: *welp, best start rollin, rollin, rollin*
  976. Arte: *I guess five times, shit*
  977. Haretsu: (( I don't think we get an encounter at home base ))
  978. Hendrix: « 1d100 = 52 » « 1d100 = 54 » « 1d100 = 43 » « 1d100 = 32 »
  979. Arte: (( woo ))
  980. Arte: (( I didn't know if we'd get one there ))
  981. Arte: (( Or in the current hex ))
  982. Arte: (( Oleg's post isn't 12 miles wide though. ))
  983. Haretsu: (( sure it is ))
  984. Arte: « 1d100 = 76 » we'da been fine anyhow, watch this 1
  985. Arte: naw we good
  986. Hendrix: We are now back at Oleg's hooray.
  987. Haretsu: *yeah that'll do for the end I guess*
  988. Arte: *guess next session we go give the old man his berries before they go bad hippo*
  989. Haretsu: *see now, if this'd been PTA, the bandits would have cut the bridge down while we were on the other side*
  990. Haretsu: *and we'd be dead
  991. Arte: *Friggen fraggen as much HP as the oracle and less than the bard*
  992. Siegfried: AND FAR LESS THAN ME (D)
  993. Siegfried: >Cut down the bridge
  994. Siegfried: Good luck
  995. Siegfried: I was there (D)
  996. Donkey: Oh right
  997. Donkey: YOU'RE not tied to a tree
  998. Donkey: (sad)
  999. Siegfried: Also I thought those spiders were going to rape us
1000. Hendrix: Siegfried would be impaled on a pike made of hippos
  1001. Siegfried: offscreen no less
  1002. Chew Spiders: yes
1003. Chew Spiders: I shall rape you with all of my 1 CR
  1004. Donkey: exactly
  1005. Arte: mip
  1006. Arte: Well it's CR2 since there were 2 of you I think (D)
  1007. Arte: Or no, just
  1008. Arte: CR3
  1009. Arte: something like that
1010. Arte: To date the only fight anyone has been hit in was against the boars I think
1011. Arte: Bandits, bears, boars, chew spiders
1012. Arte: we goin in alphabetical order
  1013. Donkey: >dire alligator
  1014. Arte: exactly
  1015. Arte: crocodile though
1016. Arte: could be REGULAR croc, too.
  1017. Donkey: Whichever
1018. Arte: Which is somewhat likely.
1019. Tarron: Oh wait no LK was shot in the bandit fight I think
1020. Tarron: Cause I had to heal him
1021. Tarron: And we are just going sporadically as all hell too aren't we
  1022. Tarron: with exploration
1023. Tarron: Three up here right next to each other
1024. Tarron: THEN FORTY MILES SOUTH.
1025. Tarron: And we just have MORE explored down there
1026. Tarron: Huh seems either I died, you lot died, or you both had to piss at the same time
  1027. Hendrix: come awn
1028. Donkey: we've been doing an insane amount of walking
  1029. Tarron: yes we have
  1030. Tarron: or well
  1031. Tarron: you have
1032. Hendrix: It's like I'm really watching Lord of the Rings
  1033. Tarron: I have
1034. Tarron: Arte a bit less
1035. Tarron: due to hell lion
1036. Donkey: When's donkay gonna get a break
1037. Tarron: you signed up for this job
1038. Tarron: with your little donkey hooves holding the pen
  1039. Donkey: (FEDUP)
1040. Tarron: that couldn't have been easy, you ahd t oreally try
1041. Tarron: And it;s also your fault for choosing an owner who wouldn't just leave you at Oleg's (D)
1042. Tarron: you and your playing that thing you never do
1043. Donkey: My 3DS is indeed almost out of power
  1044. Donkey: and as such
1045. Donkey: is plugged into the wall
1046. Donkey: alllll the way over tehre
  1047. Donkey: *there
1048. Haretsu: Hey, he's carrying the bulk of my supplies (D
1049. Siegfried: At least I'm trained to kill things
1050. Siegfried: And move aorund a lot
1051. Siegfried: That thing not so much (D)
1052. Donkey: I'm trained to carry things
  1053. Donkey: it's what I do
1054. Haretsu: Oh and I was totally going to Enlarge Person on Arte
1055. Haretsu: so he could clear the place out
1056. Haretsu: Either way, he gets to look forward to that
1057. Arte: Huh, it DOES make my weapon larger
  1058. Arte: So it'd deal...1d10 I think
  1059. Arte: Huh, nope
  1060. Arte: 2d6
  1061. Arte: 1d8 1d4 2d6
  1062. Arte: tiny, then large
1063. Haretsu: The target gains a +2 size bonus to Strength, a -2 size penalty to Dexterity (to a minimum of 1), and a -1 penalty on attack rolls and AC due to its increased size.
  1064. Haretsu: So...
1065. Haretsu: Attack roll cancels out then
  1066. Arte: Indeed
  1067. Arte: just -3 AC.
  1068. Haretsu: uh
  1069. Haretsu: -2 you mean?
  1070. Haretsu: (wary)
  1071. Arte: no
  1072. Arte: -2 dex penalty.
1073. Haretsu: that'd... be to the score
  1074. Haretsu: wouldn't it
  1075. Arte: Yes?
  1076. Arte: Which...factors into AC
  1077. Arte: you hppo
1078. Haretsu: So -1 AC from dex
  1079. Arte: i*
  1080. Haretsu: -1 from size
  1081. Haretsu: it's not -4 to dex (D)
  1082. Arte: Oh
1083. Arte: I thought it was -2 from size
  1084. Haretsu: naw
1085. Haretsu: Is Siggy's AC wrong then
1086. Arte: Don't think so, no
  1087. Arte: As...his was listed
  1088. Arte: I didn't stat him totally
  1089. Arte: he's a horse
1090. Arte: He has 2 more AC than he should because you don't need Light Armor PRoficiency to wear leather armor
  1091. Arte: (TIPSY)
  1092. Haretsu: hippo
  1093. Arte: Though uh
  1094. Haretsu: >2nd 1,000 gp
1095. Haretsu: We're already behind the curve
1096. Arte: Enlarge Person doesn't exactly always work for me.
1097. Arte: Because...I have to be at least one size category smaller
  1098. Arte: to ride Siegfried
1099. Haretsu: Well I can hand it off to you to use when you think the time is right
  1100. Haretsu: I think
  1101. Arte: You can yes
1102. Haretsu: How the hell are we even expected to REACH these GP levels
  1103. Haretsu: it seems absurd
  1104. Arte: treasure and shit
  1105. Arte: I'm at...
  1106. Arte: alotta
  1107. Arte: 587
  1108. Arte: 287 gp, and that longbow's worth 400
  1109. Arte: 300*
1110. Haretsu: Well you took the 250 gp from those bandits
1111. Haretsu: oh right the longbow
  1112. Haretsu: you bastard
1113. Arte: Like to see you use it
1114. Arte: With the -4 nonproficiency penalty
1115. Haretsu: Why would I bother
1116. Haretsu: it's composite, meaning I can add UP to my strength
1117. Arte: because move action to reload a crossbow
1118. Haretsu: my strength is -1
  1119. Arte: You always subtract
1120. Arte: Even if it's not composite
1121. Arte: Just can't ADD if it's not
  1122. Haretsu: You...
1123. Haretsu: subtract from a ranged weapon? (hippo)
1124. Arte: From a BOW, yes
  1125. Haretsu: Since when
  1126. Arte: Not a crossbow
  1127. Haretsu: ah
1128. Arte: Cause you know, you have to pull it back and shit (D)
1129. Arte: If you ain't strong enough, you can't very well do it all that greatly (D)
  1130. Haretsu: « 1d20+5 = 9 + 5 = 14 » (D)
1131. Haretsu: that ain't even a hit is it
  1132. Arte: dunno
  1133. Haretsu: against you?
  1134. Arte: Oh, hell no
  1135. Arte: 17 AC
1136. Haretsu: Oh god when did that happen
  1137. Arte: Scale Mail
  1138. Arte: And 2 Dex
  1139. Haretsu: impressive (D)
  1140. Arte: Not really
  1141. Arte: charge is -2
1142. Arte: challenge is -2 to anything but the target of the challenge
1143. Arte: Next level charge has no penalty though
1144. Arte: And also I was going to use Dazzling Display against those spidahs (SAD)
  1145. Arte: I get a +2 morale bonus against demoralized foes (D)
  1146. Arte: on attack rolls
1147. Haretsu: Can you even intimidate spoidahs (D)
  1148. Arte: Yep
  1149. Arte: « 1d20+8 = 12 + 8 = 20 » PRetty decent at it too
1150. Haretsu: I love how they're just IMMUNE TO WEAPON DAMAGE
1151. Tarron: Not my pretty, beautifuly, absolutely horrifying colors though (SINISTER)
  1152. Tarron: -y
1153. Haretsu: I also have like the best visual for the Targeted Bomb Admixture
1154. Haretsu: It's cool and awesome and no you can't know what it is (D)
  1155. Tarron: k
  1156. Haretsu: Good (D)
  1157. Tarron: I just imagine a pillar
1158. Haretsu: But yeah, uh, we've been pretty shockingly competent
  1159. Haretsu: somehow
1160. Haretsu: it's a nice change of pace
1161. Tarron: says the guy who didn't get one-shotted by a boar
  1162. Haretsu: Of course not
  1163. Haretsu: I had AC
1164. Haretsu: And you were immediately healed (D)
1165. Haretsu: WithOUT using resources (D)
1166. Haretsu: 'sides you've been plenty competent anyway
1167. Haretsu: Crit crossbow, and now you have Color Spray
  1168. Tarron: You know
1169. Tarron: these aren't exaclty limited resources (D)
1170. Tarron: You DO have Brew Potion (D)
1171. Tarron: It costs money, sure, but hey (D)
1172. Haretsu: Hell DID I take Splash Weapon Mastery for
  1173. Tarron: the uh
  1174. Tarron: range adjustment
  1175. Tarron: er, misfire adjustment
1176. Haretsu: That's not nearly as powerful as I thought it was
1177. Tarron: and basically being farshot
1178. Haretsu: It's kinda farshot yeah
1179. Haretsu: Guess I should try lobbing from a longer distance
1180. Haretsu: And hey, at low levels?
1181. Haretsu: Brew Potion is expensive as shit : |
  1182. Tarron: ...oh
  1183. Tarron: and another thing
1184. Tarron: When you hit with a splash weapon, select one additional square adjacent to the splash area; creatures in this area also take splash damage.
  1185. Tarron: you can uh
  1186. Tarron: yeah
  1187. Tarron: do that
1188. Tarron: That's part of SWM
1189. Haretsu: ...right I could've done that against the bandits
  1190. Haretsu: but forgot to
  1191. Tarron: or the spiders
  1192. Haretsu: ...
  1193. Haretsu: Dear god
1194. Tarron: so as to hit them both instead of using TBA
1195. Haretsu: does that work with Targeted Bomb Admixture
  1196. Tarron: Well, no
  1197. Haretsu: ...er
1198. Tarron: you don't HAVE a splash area
1199. Tarron: When you use that
  1200. Haretsu: if I HADN'T used TBA
1201. Haretsu: then the whole place would have burned down
1202. Tarron: ...no, it would not have
1203. Haretsu: and they were right next to eachother
1204. Tarron: as that's kind of why we LURED THEM OUT OF THE WEBS
1205. Haretsu: So Splash Weapon Mastery would have done nothing
1206. Tarron: they were one space away
1207. Haretsu: They were adjacent, pretty sure
1208. Tarron: I remember them having a square between them
1209. Tarron: But it don't relaly matter
