Background. Monika is the fifth child, third daughter, of Marquis Lukasz Czewinski, a noble of the Third Imperium. Given her lower rank on the line of inheritance, Monika had few expectations on her as she grew up. Free from the close scrutiny her elder siblings faced, she instead followed her own pursuits, attending schools to learn art, swordsmanship, and trade. She would soon leave her home planet and begin the life of a noble dilettante, drifting around the galaxy and making appearances at the highest echelons of society. She learned much in this time away from her planet, making an ally in Baroness Hoda Okhovat, but enemies in her elder half-brother Kazmierz and a former suitor, Heinrich. As she entered into her third decade, however, she began to turn her mind back to legacy. With her being extremely unlikely to inherit (especially in light of Kazmierz's machinations), she hatched a scheme in her mind. A plan to make her own legacy, her own dynasty, based on a trade empire within the Imperium. With an investment in a ship and some loose change, she's determined to have her name echo across the Imperium.

Personality: Monika is somewhat naive and sheltered from the struggles most Imperial citizens face, having spent her entire life in the highest levels of privilege. She is not necessarily cruel or malicious towards those below her station, but she lacks a lot of context to deal with such people without being insulting or callous to their problems. A cultural tie to her planet gives her a fondness for fine art in all forms, and she's something of a painter herself.
