48. 5000 years after a great war of Gems, gemstone-like beings from a planet called Homeworld, we meet Steven, a half boy half gem who lives with the "Crystal Gems" Garnet, Amythest, and Pearl, who live on earth after they rebelled against Homeworld. The story follows Steven's adventures, whether he is fighting monsters or learning to control his own powers.
 49. A team of intergalactic warriors fights to protect the universe, but the combination of three highly trained beings and one quirky young boy leaves the team struggling to overcome the dangerous scenarios that are put in front of them.
 50. The art of the show is pleasant to look at and adds to the sense of wonder in the show appreciated by and interacted with all the characters. The characters are all complex and with the potential to develop. The sense of wonder is parallel to but perhaps better than Adventure Time. Every character is unique and the interactions with each other emphasize this all the more. Then, there is the team dynamics which is intriguing to watch with the various clashes of ego and passivity. Lastly, there is the social positives with a strong cast of female characters, different ethnicities, and different body types. Steven Universe is a great show and worth watching.
 51. When you start this show, you might find it to be kind of a superhero/sidekick/gag reel sort of affair. Let me tell you this right now: put the time in.

This is a show with brilliant writing and an engaging and emotional story. Even if you dislike the first few episodes, complete season one before you write it off. This show gets up on its feet, clears its throat, and then roars over the course of the first season.

I want to write a thank-you note to Rebecca Sugar and team for bringing this into my life (and my kids love it too).

If you have younger children (my youngest two are five), they may get a little weirded out by a few things. In particular, preview the episodes "Cat Fingers" and "Horror Club" before letting the little ones loose on it - some will handle it and some won't like it. Beyond those episodes, I'd say you've got a pretty clear shot straight through.
