  1. Welcome back to yet another Charms lesson everyone!
  2.
  3. As you might know, according to our in game date, it's that time of the year, when one starts sending love letters to the boy or girl we likes, and hope that the special day is on a Hogsmeade visit weekend so we can take them on a date *winks*. Yes, you probably guessed it, I'm talking about Valentine's Day! And, I know probably many of you want to get that special person to like you, and maybe even take them to Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop. So, for the occasion, we have a lesson that fits perfectly.
  4.
  5. Today we are going to be talking about.. anyone have a guess? (Optional to let them answer or not) Yes, exactly! Today we are talking about Amare!
  6.
  7. Amare is a spell that pulls a target towards you, also making heart particles. This is ideal to surprise your crush and pull them to you, if you decide that's what you want to do.
  8.
  9. 'Amare’ is a word related to love, derived from Latin forms such as 'amor’ and, consequently, words with the same meaning in Latin derived languages like Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and French.
  10.
  11. The spell was created back in 1889, the opening year of Eiffel Tower, in Paris. As you might know, the Eiffel Tower is a French monument, in the city of Paris.
  12.
  13. Nearby, not only Muggles lived, but also wizards, as one might expect. So, when the tower's construction started, both communities were interested in the monument, watching as it grew, in the 2 years it took to be built.
  14.
  15. One of the wizards living around there was an artist, trying to live off the success he made amongst others. His name was Louie Linos. He would sit everyday by this or that shop near Champs Élysées, playing any instruments he felt like bringing along that day. He was very good at playing, and, of course, had a little help from his magic.
  16.
  17. When the Eiffel Tower opened to public he loved to go play there. On one of those days, he saw a beautiful woman who was looking off into the distance. He thought she was gorgeous. They started talking and got to know each other quite well. He ended up discovering that her name was Anabella, and she came from Spain. Their friendship was strong, and Louie started having feelings.
  18.
  19. When there was nearly no one else around, they wanted to meet up for a small picnic. She was the first to arrive and stepped close to a border to look at the view. It only had one metal bar as railing, with space between it and the floor. She decided to sit down with her legs to the outside while waiting. In the meantime, Linos repeated in his head the Spanish sentence he'd practiced to tell her, but he kept saying “amare” instead of “amarte”.
  20.
  21. He wanted to surprise her, so he sneakily approached her, but she was scared and slipped, holding on with both hands just in time. She screamed for help as Linos hurried over. He tried to reach her hand, but was unsuccessful, so he looked around for something. He had no option but to take out his wand and use it. She was mad at him. “I can't believe you did this to me!” she said. As an apology, he repeated the phrase he'd practiced while swinging his wand to try to reach her. “Anabella, me gustas mucho y quiero amare-” he said, making the same mistake he usually did, but he was cut off before he could correct himself as a spell shot out of his wand and pulled his love up and back to safety.
  22.
  23. As you can expect, the Ministry heard about this and arrested him a few days later, also needing to erase the girl's memory (she hid at home for those days, in fear. All of this story, as well as the spell’s movements and the incantation he presumed he used, were found in Linos’s diary by the Ministry, shortly after his arrest. After revising the spell, the Ministry released it to the public.
