  1. Curious.
  2.
  3. To find himself amidst such situation, where he finds not only the man that was meant to die, but also the man that killed his own son. Is it any wonder that he would pursue them both?
  4.
  5. Especially after all that happened today...
  6.
  7. The black lightning gathers- the infamous display that has defeated countless, and killed many all the same; is it any wonder that he would react that way?
  8.
  9. After all..
  10.
  11. "Murderer."
  12.
  13. The hateful gaze is cast towards Rhesus- the Stellus that has somehow managed to avoid the Captain's wrath this far, but.. if Marcel were to be successful here, his wishes fulfilled?
  14.
  15. He will not escape again.
  16. Like he did all these years.
  17.
  18. "Come back here and fight, coward."
  19.
  20. It doesn't matter that Marcel still bears injuries- it doesn't matter that he's been unable to properly recover from having to fight myriad foes. All thatmatters is that...
  21.
  22. There's a murderer of his son in sights - and potentially, a man that would not let him reach the killer.
  23.
  24. With the gun-blade drawn, The Journey's End, Haarper only has two options.
  25.
  26. Abandon Rhesus or face Marcel for standing in his way.
  27. (Marcel Delisle)
  28.
  29. Much to her dismay, Haarper proved to be a fearsome foe, or perhaps not one to allow her to retrieve Rhesus Unscathed, and thus she floated aside in order to avoid his literally endless flurry of unnatural blows.
  30.
  31. The Sergeant is pushed back yet she is by all means not out of the fight.. Kissing her teeth as her eye narrowed towards its new target. "Tsk.."
  32.
  33. "You where warned.. Now It's time to face the consequences of your actions.." She said simply, the Captain of all people stumbled upon the area.. perhaps a motivating sight among all this madness, as she couldn't just leave things as they currently are.
  34. (Bianca Ignacio)
  35.
  36. Teagan arrives to a scene near Moxtli. What was originally a trip looking for a certain someone is immediately superseded by Haarper battling for Rhesus' life. The man he saved during the raid on Eos' temple repaid the debt he owed to save the life of the Stellus.
  37.
  38. But, more were approaching.
  39.
  40. Marcel, the Commander radiated a malice that only one who had lost one of their own could manifest. A hate that engulfed all around him, even life itself.
  41.
  42. "Rhesus!"
  43.
  44. Streaking across the ground like a comet midflight, Teagan spreads her mastery of the cosmos into wings of light. Her wounds seemed to blaze with an otherworldly incandescence; where the pain of loss did not hamper her combat.
  45.
  46. She had to clear a path for them all to get home.
  47.
  48. Johnny was the first to be in the way. Firing at all cylinders, the Radiant makes an attempt to blaze past her and prepare to aid her two comrades.
  49. (Teagan Alankrantz)
  50.
  51. Teagan Alankrantz assumes the Meteor Fist: Way of The Stars stance!
  52.
  53. Marcel is headed straight for Rhesus, but will obviously fight anyone in his way.
  54. (Marcel Delisle)
  55.
  56. There wasn't any thought behind his actions at this point. A mere embodiment to what he sought after upon arrival. To protect, Rhesus.
  57.
  58. Such devotion when driven single-mindedly? Drew out the mans fullest potential. Displaying further his rate of convergence with the synthetic weapon.
  59.
  60. Moving just as what it entailed.
  61.
  62. A hero of legend.
  63.
  64. "Marcel, stand down!"
  65.
  66. Words accompanied by nimble feet, his actions drove him to stand before the captain with blade drawn. At the ready to defend the stellus once more.
  67.
  68. "I'd rather not fight you... Not because of what occurred prior between us, but... Because this only pushes me further away from my goals." Muttered in some sense, discontent, but willing.
  69.
  70. Such were the ways of the island.
  71.
  72. Not everyone could be happy.
  73.
  74. "But if you pursue any further? Than... I'll do what I must."
  75.
  76. With a deep breathe, once more did his body begin submerging itself within pools of mana. Expanding his limbs before being condensed back. Focusing his gaze, he'd look to deliver a swift end to this. Just as he did with the woman prior.
  77. (Haarper Aertas)
  78.
  79. Johnny had his rifle unslinged, the chaos soon followed - having recently felt the overbearing feeling of emotions, the Synth was not all there just yet - he froze the moment Haarper appeared, not even then - he froze more once Teagan appeared. He wasn't afraid, he simply was conflicted if they were doing the right thing or not.
  80.
  81. Not that he would admit it openly - after all - such things being presented by him will only lead to problems down the line. He had to do something about it, he had to believe in something else. He needed to - if not for his own wellbeing, it should be for Vincent, Dernust and Bianca.
  82.
  83. The Radiant looked more battle hardened than Valium, though that did not shake him - not at all. Quite the contrary, it made him feel excited - as if his indecisiveness was fading with each passing moment in Teagan's presence.
  84.
  85. She looked stronger than he hoped to defeat, maybe that will drive him forth to break his own limits - to be like both her and Rhesus - to use his own Light to reflect his dimmest desires, and force them to shine bright. His rifle was held in the silver hand - the sword held in his other hand.
  86.
  87. "THAT'S FUCKING ENOUGH. YOU WON'T HURT THE PEOPLE I LOVE ANYMORE." A pure surge of emotions that Johnny was struggling with simply unleashed after being bottled in for so long, his rifle fired straight at Teagan.
  88.
  89. "GET HIM, CAPTAIN!" Johnny was willing to sacrifice himself for Marcel's own vengeance, he was like a brother to him - all things considered. That was what he believed, thanks to Ksena's conversation with him the other day..
  90. (Johnny Valium)
  91.
  92. ". . .Then they trained you wrong."
  93.
  94. It was that very same outlook on things that brought this war in the first place. The fire users is as any other user of the flame, deadly, dangerous and something that he'd have a problem with no doubt.
  95.
  96. He tries to move in, but... his joints are growing weary. He has burns and scrapes from his previous two bouts with her cohorts, so it easily begins to get to him.
  97.
  98. Slowed down eventually and forced to stop, Bianca's fire eventually consumes him. The burns run through the armor, and his eyes go wide before he falls, grunting.
  99.
  100. "Ha... ha..."
  101.
  102. The Stellus was downed. Still attempting to move here and there, but.. not enough.
  103. (Rhesus DeLaurentis)
  104. (Posted 26 minutes ago)
  105.
  106. You have recovered from fighting Vitus
  107.
  108. Malice and hate.
  109.
  110. How can he feel anything else but this to someone who took away someone he raised? Someone he took care of for all these years, nurturing, hoping that he would have a life much better than Marcel's- that he wouldn't be a damned soul stuck in eternal cycle of vicious warfare and revenge.
  111.
  112. And yet...
  113. He was stolen from Marcel.
  114.
  115. Does Haarper not understand that he stands in the way of father's vengeance? That this black lightning manifests purely as result of what Rhesus has done to him?
  116.
  117.
  118. "This coward-"
  119.
  120.
  121.
  122. "He killed my son. My boy. And you defend him?"
  123.
  124.
  125.
  126. "Some hero you are."
  127.
  128.
  129. He waited for this to happen for years. Seeking, constantly on the lookout for Rhesus- in every single battle, on every single plain, and yet nowhere to be found. Now..
  130.
  131. When this chance manifests at last? He will not let it go. Even the shouts of Teagan, and her attempts to interject fall on deaf ears- if he'll have to end up battling her as well, then so be it.
  132.
  133.
  134. "Get out of my way or die."
  135.
  136.
  137. Furious. He would not stand for this anymore.
  138.
  139. He would not stand for Rhesus still living, breathing- when Sanguinius lies dead.
  140.
  141. With the Journey's End drawn, there is no other option.
  142.
  143. There is only violence.
  144. (Marcel Delisle)
  145.
  146. Everything hurts, but in the chaos, and his daze, does Rhesus find time to stand up again. The burns searing across his body ache something fierce, and his face is flushed red and beating. He pants and pants, and he looks over his shoulder too see Haarper squaring off against Marcel.
  147.
  148. This wouldn't Haarper's battle, yet he was fighting it for him all the same. Something he'd repay in full one day.
  149.
  150. He couldn't help Haarper. Not like this. If he stayed any longer, he'd be throwing away the sacrifice he made in helping him, too.
  151.
  152. ".. Survive."
  153.
  154. He doesn't know if he can hear him, but gods does he hope.
  155.
  156. A sputtering cough wheezes from him, and staving from the pain does the Stellus begin to make his retreat. Cowardly? Maybe. But he couldn't fight. Not with so many soldiers, and not with so many soldiers. It'd just be death.
  157.
  158. He slips away.
  159. (Rhesus DeLaurentis)
  160.
  161. Marcel shouts- all the way to Rhesus.
  162. (Marcel Delisle)
  163.
  164. Marcel Delisle exclaims, "GET BACK HERE, MURDERER!"
  165.
  166. Bringing both hands to clasp tighter around the hilt of Chameleos, listening with an attentive ear to the pain spewing out of marcel's lips. "I never claimed to be a hero... I'm just a man." Reaffirmed once more as the storm began swarming around the two.
  167.
  168. "And yet, what I can tell you? Is that I've seen a man lose his son... I've seen a man lose his wife... I'll see children lose their lives and people being only concerned with themselves. With their inner circles! Never concerned for their actions, so as long as it brought them peace of mind."
  169.
  170. It was a first for the man, to feel so vile & bitter for things that weren't in his control. For finding himself somehow thriving under the tension, even now. As the soliders of achyon all cheered for their captains safety.
  171.
  172. His own mind was blank, without a thought. He was simply too far gone into the moment. Speaking truthfully from the heart, without any remorse for what would come should he fall.
  173.
  174. "You may think killing him will give you peace, but it won't... It'll only drive you further into a corner. Until nothing can satiate your hatred."
  175.
  176. Between baited breathes helping keep the mans trembling to a still. His final words would resonate behind an explosive show of mana. Steam rolling out between his armor. Blood boiling.
  177.
  178. "I'll show you... The true strength of humanity. And prove your methodology is flawed!"
  179. (Haarper Aertas)
  180.
  181. "..."
  182.
  183. Preaching. He hated preaching.
  184.
  185. The holy words that fall upon the ears of men with concerns and suffering all too different from the ones who preach it. They would rather turn a blind eye to the evil around them, thinking they can save everything.
  186.
  187. Once, Marcel thought that he can save everyone too..
  188. That everyone could have a better, happier ending.
  189.
  190. It's a lie. As long as there are people who will commit such acts and get away with it, there will never be peace. As long as there are people like Rhesus...
  191.
  192. How is he supposed to find inner peace?
  193.
  194. The black lightning takes charge- potent as Haarper may be, Marcel never found himself afraid of what may come for him - instead, the shredding winds and black lightning was quick to gather around his form.
  195.
  196. Turned right to Haarper.
  197.
  198.
  199. "YOU KNOW NOTHING!"
  200.
  201.
  202. Why bother talk about it? Why bother explain it... when he simply wouldn't understand.
  203.
  204. Instead, he comes to him with his weapon.
  205. (Marcel Delisle)
  206.

  298.
  299.
  300. You have received an INJURY from Haarper Aertas:
  301.
  302. {RP BATTLE} YOU HAVE ROLLED 3 OR OVER: You have evaded capture by your enemy! (Unless otherwise specified, your character may escape captivity)
  303.
  304. Teagan Alankrantz has engaged Johnny Valium in Dangerous combat, with a capture roll of 1
  305.
  306. Ariel Cirque whispers something.
  307.
  308. Name: "Slient Slice"
  309.
  310. Desc: "Across his chest, could a tamed strike be seen. Running down from their right shoulder to left waist. The backside of Chameleos had struck, delivering its brutish blow behind catastrophic strength. Though lightly caved in, the mans armor staved off any further damage. Likely to heal in sometime. "
  311.
  312. Rhesus is taking the time to get away, but he does bother to look back at him. A sigh is heaved, and nothing more.
  313.
  314. The Steluls continues turning away. Surely Haarper knew where to find him after his bout. Today was a long day.
  315. (Rhesus DeLaurentis)
  316.
  317. Johnny was made to see the difference between Teagan's might and his own. She truly outclassed him, that much was obvious. Though, the young Synth had a lot to learn - he knew one thing. Her light shone from her stars, but his own? Deep within, it shone brightly from his wish to protect those of Achyon.
  318.
  319. His light was his emotion, the only connection he'd made along himself, a gateway to his soul - that existed within him. Such forces him to draw upon his own willpower - a grunt escaped his lips as his silver arm began to glow slightly - his mana going through it and into his blade.
  320.
  321. The other keeping the rifle pinned at her, throwing about orbs of light - massive bombardments, in order to keep her at bay - the way he moved with his own light was not human to say the least - being a synthetic he had the higher processing power humans couldn't dream of - split second decisions were done in less than that.
  322.
  323. His sword swung wide, his rifle would soon follow - his unique fighting style was overall complimented by his connection to the illusionary prowess he'd uncovered the more he delved into his own fears - utilizing his illusionary potential.
  324.
  325. His willpower only grows, his sword picking up the mana from his midst - warming it up - aiming to converge into something better.
  326.
  327. He was not backing down just yet.
  328. (Johnny Valium)
  329.
  330. There is a part of her that is always observing what her opponent does during a fight. It is the nature of her almost complete control of the high density specs of stardust that fall from her wings; an extension of feeling that permeates the battlefield.
  331.
  332. But perhaps, fighting against someone who's light shined as brightly as hers put a pause on this fight. To see the determination of this synthetic person burn hot enough to shine a light on the battlefield?
  333.
  334. "Just... stop it!"
  335.
  336. There was no glory in this battle. She displayed power well beyond his own, and Johnny did not back away from it. She was to clear a path so that her own could return to safety.
  337.
  338. But doing so, she deprived a father from vengeful justice.
  339.
  340. "There is no honor in this. In any of this. I don't want to hurt you, if you're just trying to defend the people you care for. I'm just doing the same."
  341.
  342. She hovers across the groundfor just a moment, stopping her near-lightspeed assault.
  343.
  344. She would wait for his response.
  345. (Teagan Alankrantz)
  346.
  347. Teagan Alankrantz has emerged victorious!
  348.
  349. Johnny Valium has sustained an injury in battle...
  350.
  351. Johnny Valium has rolled 2 or over: they may escape capture attempts (unless otherwise specified)!
  352.
  353. Rushing forward, bracing his body with mana whilst trudging through the pain of storm. Its winds once more reminding him of the pain he'd endured in their prior battle. One where he couldn't stand to climb a mountain, beside the natural disaster that was, Marcel.
  354.
  355. "Then tell me, Marcel!? Or i'll forever be ignorant to the your pain!"
  356.
  357. Words shouted as the man took flight in pursuit. Luckily for the swordsmen? He'd drunk a true flight potion, some time ago. Now taking advantage of such meager ability to be the deciding de-facto in this battle.
  358.
  359. "We've all suffered... Nobody has the right to use it as claim for taking the life another!"
  360.
  361. Amidst the conflict, where arcanium met magic. Where bullets were deflected off the tip of Haarpers blade. Did his resolution begin shinning through. A synthetic weapon forged with the memories of Achyon's greatest swordsmen. Now, a beacon of hope in the hands of the Married in Aertas.
  362.
  363. Drawing out its strength, unleashing destructive blows as a once mind devoid of thoughts were now consumed with chanting's in the voice that wasn't his own.
  364.
  365. On--skeshhhhhh... Mor... skesssshhhhStrength.skesssshhhh
  366.
  367. In a flash of light, above the ground where the two fought. A decisive moment was had. Struck still and exhausted. He unleashed his final technique, unleashing everything he'd had behind it and then some.
  368.
  369. "Swordstyle!: Silent Night"
  370.
  371. Swinging his blade into a full circle before the man. Haarper drew back his arm, stabbing forward to propel a devastating shockwave filled with kinetic energies.
  372.
  373. (Haarper Aertas)
  374.
  375. A feeling that he's forgotten.
  376.
  377. Defeat? It almost felt impossible. Perhaps something held him back all this time- something intangible, something that he couldn't quite put his hand on.. but perhaps, in a way, it only means that there's time for him to do more.
  378.
  379. If these weapons, these magics aren't enough to execute his vengeance, then he'll need more.
  380.
  381. "You.."
  382. "Abhorrent.."
  383. "Putrid.."
  384.
  385. Scum. Defending the murderer of his son.. does Haarper not understand that Marcel will be out to have his head now? That much like the Osronans that have soured his life, he'll ensure that there will be reckoning for this.
  386.
  387.
  388. "You preach the holiness of the most unholy people."
  389.
  390. "You save those that do not deserve it."
  391.
  392. "And with them, you will fall for that."
  393.
  394. "I swear it."
  395.
  396.
  397. A hero? No. Before him is a man that is so caught up in looking at the false things that there is no point, no reason to explain him anything.
  398.
  399. Just like the rest, he has to die- and with a strike that wounds Marcel, the Captain will be made to recover.
  400.
  401. Perhaps, for once..
  402. In a very, very long time.
  403. (Marcel Delisle)
