― CUTIE : she acts cute, she says cute things, she does cute actions, and she does cute noises. She unknowingly acts cute, but when she wants to, she can be really cringy. She acts like the youngest even though she isn’t. Puppy eyes and quivering pouts are her weapons, but she doesn’t like to use them. She denies that she’s cute, but you know that she is.
― HARD WORKING : she wants to improve. Even if it means that she’ll risk her sleep and food, she’ll want to improve herself. She takes all of the reviews she gets and tries to get better using the feedback. But she will also take in bad feedback as well, but doesn’t let it affect her. Instead, she uses it to improve so that people won’t say that again about her.
― WAAAAAYY TOOOO SELFLESS : one word… SHE DON’T CARE ABOUT HERSELF. Okay that’s more than one word, but it’s true. She doesn’t care about her looks, but she tries her best to have a pretty face for her company’s reputation (btw she decided that by herself, not because of the company). If there’s no more food for the other contestants or trainees, then she’ll offer her’s up (when she’s healthy). She really cares about other people, and feels guilty whenever she becomes selfish or wants to be selfish.
― MIAN-MA! : she asks you to wait for her while she’s at a shop; she’ll say sorry right after. She’s the type of person to LITERALLY say sorry for no apparent reason. She will feel guilty even though she didn’t do anything wrong, unless she DID do something then she’ll feel extra guilty. The word “sorry” basically is the end of every sentence for her (jk, isn’t). She just doesn’t like the feeling of guilt.

― she acts the way the song is; sexy, cute, sad, etc. She captures the emotion in her dance and in her aura. She’s confident, she’s selfish whenever it’s her part, and she has sass.

― she’s so embarrassed that the one on stage is her. She’s really shy and jokes that she’ll hide under her blanket. She’s really cute about it, and says sorry for every little mistake she’s ever made during the performance to her group.

❥ BACKGROUND
― birth : She was a child who wanted to watch her older cousins perform, along with her cousins of the same and younger years. Her parents would often sing songs to put her to sleep, and watch movies with her as well. Her mother would also ask for her opinion on clothes whenever her parents are out on a date night. Her uncles who were self-producers themselves usually brings her and her other cousins over to play with some of the instruments. There would be a picture of August with her first ever played instrument: the harp.
― childhood : With the first generation of KPOP coming out, she usually watches her cousins who dance and sing during their time at her house. She would often talk to them even in the states, and in between her time with her friends. Her parents and family in the states bought her a piano (5yrs old), guitar (6yrs old), harp (got it from self-producing uncles), violin (7yrs old), flute (8yrs old), and she learned about water in cups could make music around age 9. She secretly was had a YouTube account when she was 10 years old, and was posting just videos and covers of her singing English songs.
― teenage years : Her parents decided to come back to South Korea when she was thirteen years old, and she went crazy with uploading videos because she use to do busking at parks and her school. It was then that she got scouted when she was out busking by (enter entertainment). Her parents were against it, since she was their only child and they have seen what her cousins has been through for becoming trainees, but somehow she convinced her parents to allow her to become a trainee. In between school and training, she was having a stable life-style; she would also go with her cousins and see their company’s ways of training. Her uncles would also collab with her and her cousins, and publish it together.
― adult : She soon moved out and had a stable job of busking and training to help with her apartment bills. But then her grandfather, the famous doctor, decided that her being a trainee was not a career that he wanted for her. He tried to do the same with her cousins, but they convinced him that becoming an idol was their thing. But he is determined to turn August to another side. He tried, even tried to threaten her, but eventually gave in, letting his grandkids continue their dream.

― She joined because she wanted to do make her parents proud, because her cousins are already famous, and because she doesn’t want to make her grandfather regret not taking her to medical school when he had the chance.

― Being an idol doesn’t mean that you get a pass for everything; it just means that you are more well known, more watched, and more expected.
