Reasoning: The growth of the Arcane Beast Crow is seethed in his buildup for destruction. There are many folds to this destruction that he can explore, which he has done in the past. However; today, he was the one who had something else destroyed for him.
He learned this day that his comrades, his fellow Arcane Beasts, had fought a hard battle against someone, who they had killed. But costing the life of Feanor.
This shattered him. Destroyed his pride in a sense that was unacceptable to him. And in truth, he couldn't take it as easily as he thought he'd be able to handle such an ordeal.

He was out on a search. And come back to the destruction of one of his fellow beasts.
And his rage, would most likely fuel more conflict in time. The growth within him and Freea is born of destruction. And this was a huge blow to him.
Their bond has deepened even further, with the accumilation of such a loss.
