[13:40] The boy stopped some feet in front of the Exarch, staring at him with a pensive expression. He didn't know whether or not to actually, actively, talk to the man, or just stand there and gawk.

Clearing his throat, he looked to the side and spoke up quietly.

"So, uh. Exarch, Sir... Sir?" How did he address this man!?

[13:41] "After your duties today...I suppose we could use today as a time to rest, perhaps? There's a lot that's going to be happening soon, so I suppose...It'd be best if we spent the day preparing and resting, rather than anything else." She adds with a nod.

"I think you deserve a bit of a break anyway, so, I'll take care of you, if you let me." She pats the Exarch before her gaze falls to Lion. Hm..

Still, with a pause, his gaze drifts towards Lion. He squints once, twice.. but already anticipates possible scenarios.

"You're not interrupting."

"And it's Exarch Nerin. How can I help?"

[13:44] The boy sighed in relief at that, before his deceptively grumpy expression took back over. He shifted, before speaking up again.

"So- My... friend, Serafim, spoke about wanting to join the Order as a Cadet. Is... Does someone need to ask a Radiant, or is- Is uh, Exarch, like, capable of doing that stuff?"

He paused, before asking next,"And-and what's the like... require...requirements, for that stuff?"

[13:47] "There are no apparent requirements, other than being dedicated to Osrona as a whole and standing guard on its defense."

Whatever other requirements someone else might've spoken of would be false- though, there's but one that he remembers, something upon which Nerin remarks rather quickly.

"Ah- and capability as a magi, in case you intend to become a full-fledged Knight eventually. If not, work as a soldier would do." There's a pause, to which he adds.

"I assume you wished to join?"

[13:48] Oh no, he asked the question. He really asked the question about whether or not he wanted to join. This was something he wasn't ready for, but-

He nodded his head slowly, going to wave his hand around, attempting to act calm despite his heart beginning to beat a bit loudly.

"Well- Yeah, I'd uh, I'd like to join. Because- Well Osrona's my home, and even if I'm not strong like, at all, I'm still a Magi, and I think I'd be able to be stronger."

Given time, anyway, and lots of training. And lots of work. Maybe a broken skull or two...

He shuddered, before smiling, forced as much as it was. "But I'd like to try, anyway."

A mere remark- something that he's used to seeing, but.. hearing of so many cadets never reach maturity and simply die before they could become full-fledged Knights was rather disheartening to the Exarch. Each time he'd see a new, aspiring youthful face that approaches him with such intent..

He can't help but remember all of the cadets that died before even becoming adults.

"Admirable."

"I'll have to warn you, however, that life of a cadet- and more so that of a Knight- is a dangerous one. It is often a thankless job too, with many finding myriad reasons to blame you for countless things you're not even guilty of - all while you subject yourself to dangers that others couldn't even dream of."

"It's not all the shiny glory either as people portray it. Quite often, it's a struggle and difficulties like no other."

"Are you certain that you're prepared for this?"

[13:58] The explanation of what it was like to be a cadet, to be part of the order... It did sound sort of scary. Learning about it was something that made him have second thoughts. Still, he didn't really show it, instead keeping up that smile, even if it twitched a tiny bit.

"... I know, I mean. I know it's not all good. Like, being a Radiant, being super strong and being amazing, that's all good and all, but most of them aren't that. They're just fighting for Osrona, right? So- So It's not that much different from doing what I already do, just uh..."

He wasn't good with words, but he was trying. "Just- I want to try and make it so I can help more. Ever since I became aware that I was a magi, I've been wanting to learn to get -better- at it. But only recently... Only recently did I even realize how to summon it, you know?"

Looking back up at Nerin, he gave a FIRM nod. "But, yes, I'mcertain. I may be young, and I may not be very smart about things yet, but those things can be like, fixed and stuff."

It's simple as that, really.. for it's not difficult at all to join the Order - it's much more difficult to survive within it, and make it anywhere far at all. In fact, it becomes an endeavor in which many find themselves lost.. if only because they fail to remain safe.

"You'll have three years to prove yourself as a cadet in order to receive promotion to a Knight."

"You should also get familiar with the rest of the Order members that you see, and update yourself on the news."

Yet, there's a pause- something that felt far more personal to him, if only because of countless dead cadets that he's discovered before.

"Good luck. Don't die."

[14:02] The boy sighed, slumping his shoulders and bowing his head awkwardly towards Nerin. His ears twitched, his tail lashed side to side, before stilling.

"I'll do my best, Exarch Nerin." He stated, simply, before looking down at his hands once more.

"Three years, okay. I'll definitely get stronger for that..." He looked around, before looking back at Nerin. "Uh- When you aren't with..." He looked at Marisol! "Your friend, maybe I can learn more. But- I think I'll let you be. Have a good day... Evening? Yeah."

Serafim questioned, only now asking the teenager next to him about their questions towards the Exarch about joining the order, interest clearly held in his tone.

[14:17] The boy rubbed at his head, seeming confused about the entire debacle. It seemed he didn't expect that to have worked.

"Well- I mean.. I was trying to figure out whether or not I should join but, well, he just- It was kind of a heat of- of the moment sort of thing? But I think it went well, and I'll be good, at the stuff, I think."

He poked his fingers together, before beaming at Serafim. "You want to join after you speak with a Radiant, right? Maybe we can grow and get stronger together."

Hand clasping onto their new friends shoulder in support, smile further showing itself with fondness at the reply. It seemed he'd have another person to train with in the coming times.

Index-finger tapped against his chin as he thought, before nodding their way at the question.

"Yes, Radiant Valero was speaking about tutorship, and so I'll request to join the Order from him again when I next see him."
