"He was older than me, though not by much; stronger than me, able to best me in all forms of combat. He was fair, kind, and gentle. He was going to be the perfect Knight. The next Lightbearer if he hadn't been injured like he was." She explained. Elise's expression seemed to remain.. Still, There was no smile, nor was there a frown. She just stared at the egg.

"So, everything that I do now is to protect him. It's to make sure that he never has to fight again.. When we were younger, the village of Hraethe bordering our farm came under attack." She explained. "He lost his hand to a demonic creation. I can't even remember if it was Achyon or the Witches, but I wouldn't expect anything less from either of them."

Her tone seemed to get more somber, and more quiet as she continued. But something began to well up inside her.

"I got the monster off of my brother. But he was never the same after that. Everett didn't deserve it- but he became a Cadet at 13. He was so proud of himself. He was so ready to go out and face the world.. He doesn't even desire to fight again. He doesn't want to wield Caledfwlch."

Her grip on the egg tightened. Almost enough to break it for a moment as she shook her head.

"So I'll do it for you, Everett!" She shouted. In the empty classroom, her words echoed. In the empty halls, the words of the Soleis reach out into the empty pathways. "I'll wield Caledfwlch in your name! I'll be your light! I'll become the next Lightbearer!

I'd only hope you could join me one day when I'm at the top. When there's nothing to worry about."

Her palm released, and from her fingertips came an arcane light, golden and warm in all respects no different from the light that Caster had brought forth.

"I'll never let that happen again. Not to anyone. It's why I jumped in to save Krom. Why I tried to fight Marcel off so everyone else could escape. Why I'd never let my friends fall before I do!"

The light, wrapped in golden light, had an outer membrane of mana.

"So if you fall.."

She'd hold her palm out, allowing it to drop on the ground. As it makes contact with the ground, bounces- not as high as Caster's, before a gust of wind sends it flying back up into her palms; formed of light, two tiny sets of feathered, arcane wings sprouted from it that faded immediately.

"I'll catch you. I'll catch you every time."

Hairline fractures presented themselves on the egg, though as the light continued to surround it, her gaze on it narrows.

"Fortify!"

The words that Gareth had spoken to her; in an instant, the shell began to reform, allowing the cracks to be filled with a light that seemed to stay as her spell finally faded.

Though, she says nothing. She felt emotional; drawing on memories was the hardest part.
