  1. Over the years of this study, millions of calibrations have defined a
  2. range of values accurately corresponding to well-recognized sets of
  3. attitudes and emotions, localized by specific attractor energy fields,
  4. much as electromagnetic fields gather iron fillings. We have adapted the
  5. following classification of these energy fields so as to be easily
  6. comprehensible, as well as clinically accurate.
  7. It’s very important to remember that the calibration figures do not
  8. represent an arithmetic, but a logarithmic, progression. Thus, the level
  9. 300 is not twice the amplitude of 150; it is 10 to the 300th power
  10. (10300). An increase of even a few points represents a major advance in
  11. power; the rate of increase in power as we move up the scale is
  12. enormous.
  13. The ways the various levels of human consciousness express themselves
  14. are profound and far-reaching; their effects are both gross and subtle.
  15. All levels below 200 are destructive of life in both the individual and
  16. society at large; all levels above 200 are constructive expressions of
  17. power. The decisive level of 200 is the fulcrum that divides the general
  18. areas of force and power.
  19. In describing the emotional correlates of the energy fields of
  20. consciousness, keep in mind that they’re rarely manifested as pure
  21. states in an individual. Levels of consciousness are always mixed; a
  22. person may operate on one level in a given area of life and on quite
  23. another level in another area. An individual’s overall level of
  24. consciousness is the sum total effect of these various levels.
  25.
  26. Energy Level 20: Shame
  27.
  28. The level of Shame is perilously proximate to death, which may be
  29. chosen out of Shame as conscious suicide or more subtly elected by
  30. failure to take steps to prolong life. Death by avoidable accident is
  31. common here. We all have some awareness of the pain of “losing face,”
  32. becoming discredited, or feeling like a “nonperson.” In Shame, we hang
  33. our heads and slink away, wishing we were invisible. Banishment is a
  34. traditional accompaniment of shame, and in the primitive societies from
  35. which we all originate, banishment is equivalent to death.
  36. Early life experiences that lead to Shame—such as sexual abuse—warp
  37. the personality for a lifetime unless these issues are resolved by therapy.
  38. Shame, as Freud determined, produces neurosis. It’s destructive to
  39. emotional and psychological health and, as a consequence of low self-
  40. esteem, makes one prone to the development of physical illness. The
  41. Shame-based personality is shy, withdrawn, and introverted.
  42. Shame is used as a tool of cruelty, and its victims often become cruel
  43. themselves. Shamed children are brutal to animals and to each other.
  44. The behavior of people whose consciousness is only in the 20s is
  45. dangerous:
  46. They’re prone to hallucinations of an accusatory nature, as well as
  47. paranoia; some become psychotic or commit bizarre crimes.
  48. Some Shame-based individuals compensate with perfectionism and
  49. rigidity, becoming driven and intolerant.
  50. Notorious examples are the moral extremists who form vigilante groups,
  51. projecting their own unconscious shame onto others whom they then
  52. feel justified in righteously attacking. Serial killers have often acted out
  53. of sexual moral-ism, with the justification of punishing “bad” women.
  54. Since it pulls down the whole level of personality, Shame results in a
  55. vulnerability to the other negative emotions, and, therefore often
  56. produces false pride, anger, and guilt.
  57.
  58. Energy Level 30: Guilt
  59.
  60. Guilt, so commonly used in our society to manipulate and punish,
  61. manifests itself in a variety of expressions, such as remorse, self-
  62. recrimination, masochism, and the whole gamut of symptoms of
  63. victimhood. Unconscious Guilt results in psychosomatic disease,
  64. accident-proneness, and suicidal behaviors. Many people struggle with
  65. Guilt their entire lives, while others desperately attempt escape by
  66. amorally denying it altogether.
  67. Guilt-domination results in a preoccupation with “sin,” an unforgiving
  68. emotional attitude frequently exploited by religious demagogues, who
  69. use it for coercion and control. Such “sin-and-salvation” merchants,
  70. obsessed with punishment, are likely either acting out their own guilt,
  71. or projecting it on to others.
  72. Subcultures displaying the aberration of self-flagellation often manifest
  73. other regional forms of cruelty, such as the public, ritual killing of
  74. animals. Guilt provokes rage, and killing frequently is its expression.
  75. Capital punishment is an example of how killing gratifies a Guilt-ridden
  76. populace. Our unforgiving American society, for instance, scorns its
  77. victims in the press and metes out punishments that have never been
  78. demonstrated to have any deterrent or corrective value.
  79.
  80. Energy Level 50: Apathy
  81.
  82. This level is characterized by poverty, despair, and hopelessness. The
  83. world and the future look bleak; pathos is the theme of life. Apathy is a
  84. state of helplessness; its victims, needy in every way, lack not only
  85. resources, but the energy to avail themselves of what may be available.
  86. Unless external energy is supplied by caregivers, death through passive
  87. suicide can result. Without the will to live, the hopeless stare blankly,
  88. unresponsive to stimuli, until their eyes stop tracking and there isn’t
  89. enough energy left to even swallow proffered food.
  90. This is the level of the homeless and the derelicts of society; it’s also the
  91. fate of many of the aged and others who become isolated by chronic or
  92. progressive diseases. The apathetic are dependent; people in Apathy are
  93. “heavy” and are felt as a burden by those around them.
  94. Too often, society lacks sufficient motivation to be of any real help to
  95. cultures (as well as individuals) at this level, because they’re seen as
  96. drains of resources. This is the level of the streets of Calcutta, where
  97. only the saintly, such as Mother Teresa and her followers, dare to tread.
  98. Apathy is the level of the abandonment of hope, and few have the
  99. courage to really look in its face.
  100. Energy Level 75: Grief
  101. This is the level of sadness, loss, and dependency. Most of us have
  102. experienced it for periods of time, but those who remain at this level
  103. live a life of constant regret and depression. This is the level of
  104. mourning, bereavement, and remorse about the past; it’s also the level
  105. of habitual losers and those chronic gamblers who accept failure as part
  106. of their lifestyle, often resulting in loss of jobs, friends, family, and
  107. opportunity, as well as money and health.
  108. Major losses early in life make one vulnerable to passive acceptance of
  109. grief later on, as though sorrow were the price of life. In Grief, one sees
  110. sadness everywhere— in little children, in life itself. This level colors
  111. one’s entire vision of existence. Part of the syndrome of Grief is the
  112. notion of the irreplaceability of what’s been lost or that which it
  113. symbolized. There is a generalization from the particular so that the loss
  114. of a loved one is equated with the loss of love itself. At this level, such
  115. emotional losses may trigger a serious depression or death.
  116. Although Grief is the cemetery of life, it still has more energy to it than
  117. Apathy does. Thus, when a traumatized, apathetic patient begins to cry,
  118. we know they’re getting better. Once they start to cry, they will eat
  119. again.
  120.
  121. Energy Level 100: Fear
  122.
  123. At the level of 100, a lot more life energy is available— fear of danger is
  124. healthy. Fear runs much of the world, spurring on endless activity. Fear
  125. of enemies, of old age or death, of rejection, and a multitude of social
  126. fears are basic motivators in most people’s lives.
  127. From the viewpoint of this level, the world looks hazardous, full of
  128. traps and threats. Fear is the favored official tool for control by
  129. oppressive totalitarian agencies, and insecurity is the stock-in-trade of
  130. major manipulators of the marketplace. The media and advertising play
  131. to Fear to increase market shares.
  132. The proliferation of fears is as limitless as the human imagination; once
  133. Fear is one’s focus, the endless worrisome events of the world feed it.
  134. Fear becomes obsessive and may take any form—trepidation of losing a
  135. relationship leads to jealousy and a chronically high stress level. Fearful
  136. thinking can balloon into paranoia or generate neurotic defensive
  137. structures and, because it’s contagious, become a dominant social trend.
  138. Fear limits growth of the personality and leads to inhibition. Because it
  139. takes energy to rise above Fear, the oppressed are unable to reach a
  140. higher level unaided. Thus, the fearful seek strong leaders who appear
  141. to have conquered their own Fears to lead them out of its slavery.
  142.
  143. Energy Level 125: Desire
  144.
  145. Even more energy is available at this level; Desire motivates vast areas
  146. of human activity, including the economy.
  147. Advertisers play on our Desire to program us with needs linked to
  148. instinctual drives. Desire moves us to expend great effort to achieve
  149. goals or obtain rewards. The desire for money, prestige, or power runs
  150. the lives of many of those who have risen above Fear as their
  151. predominant life motif.
  152. Desire is also the level of addiction, wherein it becomes a craving more
  153. important than life itself. The victim of Desire may actually be unaware
  154. of the basis of his motives.
  155. Some people become addicted to the hunger for attention and drive
  156. others away by their constant demands. The yearning for sexual
  157. approval has produced an entire cosmetics and fashion industry.
  158. Desire has to do with accumulation and greed. But Desire is insatiable
  159. because it’s an ongoing energy field, so that satisfaction of one itch is
  160. merely replaced by unsatisfied craving for something else. For instance,
  161. multimillionaires tend to remain obsessed with acquiring more and
  162. more money.
  163. Desire is obviously a much higher state than Apathy or Grief, for in
  164. order to “get,” you have to first have the energy to “want.” TV has had
  165. a major influence on many oppressed people, inculcating wants and
  166. energizing their longings to the degree that they move out of Apathy
  167. and begin to seek a better life. Want can start us on the road to
  168. achievement. Desire can, therefore, become a springboard to yet higher
  169. levels of awareness.
  170.
  171. Energy Level 150: Anger
  172.
  173. Although Anger may lead to homicide and war, as an energy level it’s
  174. much further removed from death than those below it. Anger can lead
  175. to either con structive or de-structive action. As people move out of
  176. Apathy and Grief to overcome Fear as a way of life, they begin to want;
  177. Desire leads to frustration, which in turn leads to Anger. Thus, Anger
  178. can be a fulcrum by which the oppressed are eventually catapulted to
  179. freedom. Fury over social injustice, victimization, and inequality has
  180. created great movements that led to major changes in the structure of
  181. society.
  182. But Anger expresses itself most often as resentment and revenge and is,
  183. therefore, volatile and dangerous. Anger as a lifestyle is exemplified by
  184. irritable, explosive people who are oversensitive to slights and become
  185. “injustice collectors,” quarrelsome, belligerent, or litigious.
  186. Since Anger stems from frustrated want, it’s based on the energy field
  187. below it. Frustration results from exaggerating the importance of
  188. desires. The angry person may go into rage, just like a frustrated infant.
  189. Anger leads easily to hatred, which has an erosive effect on all areas of
  190. a person’s life.
  191.
  192. Energy Level 175: Pride
  193.
  194. Pride, which calibrates at 175, has enough energy to run the United
  195. States Marine Corps. It’s the level aspired to by the majority of our kind
  196. today. In contrast to the lower energy fields, people feel positive as they
  197. reach this level. This rise in self-esteem is a balm to all the pain
  198. experienced at lower levels of consciousness. Pride looks good and
  199. knows it; it struts its stuff in the parade of life.
  200. Pride is far enough removed from Shame, Guilt, or Fear that to rise, for
  201. instance, out of the despair of the ghetto to the self-respect of being
  202. a Marine is an enormous jump.
  203. Pride generally has a good reputation and is socially encouraged, yet as
  204. we see from the chart of the levels of consciousness, it’s sufficiently
  205. negative to remain below the critical level of 200. This is why Pride
  206. feels good only in contrast to the lower levels.
  207. The problem, as we all know, is that “Pride goeth before a fall.” Pride is
  208. defensive and vulnerable because it’s dependent upon external
  209. conditions, without which it can suddenly revert to a lower level. The
  210. inflated ego is vulnerable to attack. Pride remains weak because it can
  211. be knocked off its pedestal back to Shame, which is the threat that fires
  212. the fear of loss and pride.
  213. Pride is divisive and gives rise to factionalism; the consequences are
  214. costly. Man has habitually died for Pride—armies still regularly
  215. slaughter each other for that aspect of it called nationalism. Religious
  216. wars, political terrorism and zealotry, the ghastly history of the Middle
  217. East and Central Europe—these are all the price of Pride, which all of
  218. society pays.
  219. The downside of Pride is arrogance and denial. These characteristics
  220. block growth; in Pride, recovery from addictions is impossible because
  221. emotional problems or character defects are denied. The whole problem
  222. of denial is one of Pride. Thus Pride is a very sizable block to the
  223. acquisition of real power, which displaces Pride with true stature and
  224. prestige.
  225.
  226. Energy Level 200: Courage
  227.
  228. At the 200 level, power first appears. When we test subjects at all the
  229. energy levels below 200, we find, as can be readily verified, that all go
  230. weak. Everyone goes strong in response to the life-supportive fields
  231. above 200. This is the critical line that distinguishes the positive and
  232. negative influences of life. At the level of Courage, an attainment of
  233. true power occurs; therefore, it’s also the level of empowerment. This is
  234. the zone of exploration, accomplishment, fortitude, and determination.
  235. At the lower levels, the world is seen as hopeless, sad, frightening, or
  236. frustrating; but at the level of Courage, life is seen to be exciting,
  237. challenging, and stimulating.
  238. Courage implies the willingness to try new things and deal with the
  239. changes and challenges of life. At this level of empowerment, one is
  240. able to cope with and effectively handle the opportunities of life. At
  241. 200, for instance, the energy to learn new job skills is available.
  242. Growth and education become attainable goals. There’s the capacity to
  243. face fears or character defects and to grow despite them; anxiety also
  244. does not cripple endeavor as it would at lower stages of evolution.
  245. Obstacles that defeat people whose consciousness is below 200 act as
  246. stimulants to those who have evolved into the first level of true power.
  247. People at this level put back into the world as much energy as they
  248. take; at lower levels, populations as well as individuals drain energy
  249. from society without reciprocating. Because accomplishments result in
  250. positive feedback, self-reward and esteem become progressively self-
  251. reinforcing. This is where productivity begins.
  252. The collective level of consciousness of mankind remained at 190 for many
  253. centuries and, curiously, only jumped to its current level of 207 within the
  254. last decade.
  255.
  256. Energy Level 250: Neutrality
  257.
  258. Energy becomes very positive as we get to the level we have termed
  259. Neutral , because it’s epitomized by release from the positionality that
  260. typifies lower levels. Below 250, consciousness tends to see dichotomies
  261. and take on rigid positions, an impediment in a world that’s complex
  262. and multifactorial rather than black and white.
  263. Taking such positions creates polarization, which in turn creates
  264. opposition and division. As in the martial arts, a rigid position becomes
  265. a point of vulnerability; that which doesn’t bend is liable to break.
  266. Rising above barriers or oppositions that dissipate one’s energies, the
  267. Neutral condition allows for flexibility and nonjudgmental, realistic
  268. appraisal of problems. To be Neutral means to be relatively unattached
  269. to outcomes; not getting one’s way is no longer experienced as
  270. defeating, frightening, or frustrating.
  271. At the Neutral level, a person can say, “Well, if I don’t get this job, then
  272. I’ll get another.” This is the beginning of inner confidence; sensing one’s
  273. power, one isn’t easily intimidated or driven to prove anything. The
  274. expectation that life, with its ups and downs, will be basically okay if
  275. one can roll with the punches in a 250-level attitude.
  276. People of Neutrality have a sense of well-being; the mark of this level is
  277. a confident capability to live in the world. This is the level of safety—
  278. people at this level are easy to get along with and safe to be around and
  279. associate with because they’re not interested in conflict, competition, or
  280. guilt. They’re comfortable and basically undisturbed emotionally. This
  281. attitude is nonjudgmental and doesn’t lead to any need to control other
  282. people’s behaviors. Correspondingly, due to Neutral people’s value of
  283. freedom, they’re difficult to control.
  284.
  285. Energy Level 310: Willingness
  286.
  287. This very positive level of energy may be seen as the gateway to the
  288. higher levels. For instance, at the Neutral level, jobs are done
  289. adequately, but at the level of Willingness, work is done well and
  290. success in all endeavors is common. Growth is rapid here; these are
  291. people chosen for advancement. Willingness implies that one has
  292. overcome inner resistance to life and is committed to participation.
  293. Below the 200 calibration, people tend to be close-minded, but by level
  294. 310, a great opening occurs. At this level, people become genuinely
  295. friendly, and social and economic success seem to follow automatically.
  296. The Willing aren’t troubled by unemployment; they’ll take any job
  297. when they have to, or create a career or self-employment for
  298. themselves; they don’t feel demeaned by service jobs or by starting at
  299. the bottom. They’re helpful to others and contribute to the good of
  300. society. They’re also willing to face inner issues and don’t have major
  301. learning blocks.
  302. At this level, self-esteem is high and is reinforced by positive feedback
  303. from society in the forms of recognition, appreciation, and
  304. reward. Willingness is sympathetic and responsive to the needs of others.
  305. Willing people are builders of, and contributors to, society. With their
  306. capacity to bounce back from adversity and learn from experience, they
  307. tend to become self-correcting. Having let go of Pride, they’re willing to
  308. look at their defects and learn from others. At the level of Willingness,
  309. people become excellent students. They’re easily trainable and represent
  310. a considerable source of power for society.
  311.
  312. Energy Level 350: Acceptance
  313.
  314. At this level of awareness, a major transformation takes place, with the
  315. understanding that one is oneself the source and creator of the
  316. experience of one’s life. Taking such responsibility is distinctive of this
  317. degree of evolution, characterized by the capacity to live harmoniously
  318. with the forces of life.
  319. All people at levels below 200 tend to be powerless and see themselves
  320. as victims, at the mercy of life. This stems from a belief that the source
  321. of one’s happiness or the cause of one’s problems is “out there.” An
  322. enormous jump— taking back one’s own power—is completed at this
  323. level, with the realization that the source of happiness is within oneself.
  324. At this more evolved stage, nothing “out there” has the capacity to
  325. make one happy, and love isn’t something that’s given or taken away by
  326. another, but is created from within.
  327. This level is not to be confused with passivity, which is a symptom of
  328. apathy. Acceptance allows engagement in life on life’s own terms,
  329. without trying to make it conform to an agenda. There’s emotional calm
  330. with Acceptance, and perception is widened as denial is transcended.
  331. One now sees things without distortion or misinterpretation; the context
  332. of experience is expanded so that one is capable of “seeing the whole
  333. picture.” Acceptance has to do essentially with balance, proportion, and
  334. appropriateness.
  335. The individual at the level of Acceptance isn’t interested in determining
  336. right or wrong, but instead is dedicated to resolving issues and finding
  337. out what to do about problems. Tough jobs don’t cause discomfort or
  338. dismay. Long-term goals take precedence over short-term ones; self-
  339. discipline and mastery are prominent.
  340. At the level of Acceptance, we’re not polarized by conflict or opposition;
  341. we see that other people have the same rights as we do, and we honor
  342. equality. While lower levels are characterized by rigidity, at this level,
  343. social plurality begins to emerge as a form of resolution of problems.
  344. Therefore, this level is free of discrimination or intolerance; there’s an
  345. awareness that equality doesn’t exclude diversity; Acceptance includes
  346. rather than rejects.
  347.
  348. Energy Level 400: Reason
  349.
  350. Intelligence and rationality rise to the forefront when the emotionalism
  351. of the lower levels is transcended. Reason is capable of handling large,
  352. complex amounts of data and making rapid, correct decisions; of
  353. understanding the intricacies of relationships, gradations, and fine
  354. distinctions; and expert manipulation of symbols as abstract concepts
  355. becomes increasingly important. This is the level of science, medicine,
  356. and of generally increased capacity for conceptualization and
  357. comprehension. Knowledge and education are here sought as capital.
  358. Understanding and information are the main tools of accomplishment,
  359. which is the hallmark of the 400 level. This is the level of Nobel Prize
  360. winners, great statesmen, and Supreme Court justices. Einstein, Freud,
  361. and many of the other great thinkers of history also calibrate here.
  362. The shortcomings of this level involve the failure to clearly distinguish
  363. the difference between symbols and what they represent, and confusion
  364. between the objective and subjective worlds that limits the
  365. understanding of causality. At this level, it’s easy to lose sight of the
  366. forest for the trees, to become infatuated with concepts and theories
  367. and end up missing the essential point. Intellectualizing can become an
  368. end in itself. Reason is limited in that it doesn’t afford the capacity for
  369. the discernment of essence or of the critical point of a complex issue.
  370. Reason does not of itself provide a guide to truth. It produces massive
  371. amounts of information and documentation, but lacks the capability to
  372. resolve discrepancies in data and conclusions. All philosophical
  373. arguments sound convincing on their own. Although Reason is highly
  374. effective in a technical world where the methodologies of logic
  375. dominate, Reason itself, paradoxically, is the major block to reaching
  376. higher levels of consciousness. Transcending this level is relatively
  377. uncommon in our society.
  378.
  379. Energy Level 500: Love
  380.
  381. Love as depicted in the mass media is not what this level is about. What
  382. the world generally refers to as love is an intense emotional condition,
  383. combining physical attraction, possessiveness, control, addiction,
  384. eroticism, and novelty. It’s usually fragile and fluctuating, waxing and
  385. waning with varying conditions. When frustrated, this emotion often
  386. reveals an underlying anger and dependency that it had masked. That
  387. love can turn to hate is a common perception, but here, an addictive
  388. sentimentality is likely what’s being spoken about, rather than Love;
  389. there probably never was actual love in such a relationship, for Hate
  390. stems from Pride, not Love.
  391. The 500 level is characterized by the development of a Love that is
  392. unconditional, unchanging, and permanent. It doesn’t fluctuate—its
  393. source isn’t dependent on external factors. Loving is a state of being. It’s
  394. a forgiving, nurturing, and supportive way of relating to the world.
  395. Love isn’t intellectual and doesn’t proceed from the mind; Love
  396. emanates from the heart. It has the capacity to lift others and
  397. accomplish great feats because of its purity of motive.
  398. As this level of development, the capacity to discern essence becomes
  399. predominant; the core of an issue becomes the center of focus. As
  400. reason is bypassed, there arises the capacity for instantaneous
  401. recognition of the totality of a problem and a major expansion of
  402. context, especially regarding time and process. Reason deals only with
  403. particulars, whereas Love deals with entireties. This ability, often
  404. ascribed to intuition, is the capacity for instantaneous understanding
  405. without resorting to sequential symbol processing. This apparently
  406. abstract phenomenon is, in fact, quite concrete; it’s accompanied by a
  407. measurable release of endorphins in the brain.
  408. Love takes no position, and thus is global, rising above separation. It’s
  409. then possible to be “one with another,” for there are no longer any
  410. barriers. Love is therefore inclusive and expands the sense of self
  411. progressively. Love focuses on the goodness of life in all its expressions
  412. and augments that which is positive—it dissolves negativity by
  413. recontextualizing it, rather than by attacking it.
  414. This is the level of true happiness, but although the world is fascinated
  415. with the subject of Love, and all viable religions calibrate at 500 or
  416. over, it’s interesting to note that only 0.4 percent of the world’s
  417. population ever reaches this level of evolution of consciousness.
  418.
  419. Energy Level 540: Joy
  420.
  421. As Love becomes more and more unconditional, it begins to be
  422. experienced as inner Joy. This isn’t the sudden joy of a pleasurable turn
  423. of events; it’s a constant accompaniment to all activities. Joy arises from
  424. within each moment of existence, rather than from any other source;
  425. 540 is also the level of healing and of spiritually based self-help groups.
  426. From level 540 up is the domain of saints, and advanced spiritual
  427. students and healers. A capacity for enormous patience and the
  428. persistence of a positive attitude in the face of prolonged adversity is
  429. characteristic of this energy field; the hallmark of this state is
  430. compassion. People who have attained this level have a notable effect
  431. on others. They’re capable of a prolonged, open visual gaze, which
  432. induces a state of love and peace.
  433. At the high 500s, the world one sees is illuminated by the exquisite
  434. beauty and perfection of creation. Everything happens effortlessly, by
  435. synchronicity, and the world and everything in it is seen to be an
  436. expression of love and divinity. Individual will merges into divine will.
  437. A Presence is felt whose power facilitates phenomena outside
  438. conventional expectations of reality, termed miraculous by the ordinary
  439. observer. These phenomena represent the power of the energy field, not
  440. of the individual.
  441. One’s sense of responsibility for others at this level is of a different
  442. quality from that shown at the lower levels: There’s a desire to use one’s
  443. state of consciousness for the benefit of life itself rather than for
  444. particular individuals. This capacity to love many people
  445. simultaneously is accompanied by the discovery that the more one
  446. loves, the more one can love.
  447. Near-death experiences, characteristically transfor-mative in their effect,
  448. have frequently allowed people to experience the energy level between
  449. 540 and 600.
  450.
  451. Energy Level 600: Peace
  452.
  453. This energy field is associated with the experience designated by such
  454. terms as transcendence, self-realization, and God-consciousness. It’s
  455. extremely rare, attained by only 1 in 10 million people. When this state
  456. is reached, the distinction between subject and object disappears, and
  457. there’s no specific focal point of perception. Not uncommonly,
  458. individuals at this level remove themselves from the world, as the state
  459. of bliss that ensues precludes ordinary activity. Some become spiritual
  460. teachers; others work anonymously for the betterment of mankind. A
  461. few become great geniuses in their respective fields and make major
  462. contributions to society. These people are saintly and may eventually be
  463. officially designated as such, although at this level, formal religion is
  464. commonly transcended, to be replaced by the pure spirituality out of
  465. which all religion originates.
  466. Perception at the level of 600 and above is sometimes reported as
  467. occurring in slow motion, suspended in time and space—nothing is
  468. stationary, and all is alive and radiant. Although this world is the same
  469. as the one seen by others, it has become continuously flowing, evolving
  470. in an exquisitely coordinated evolutionary dance in which significance
  471. and source are overwhelming. This awesome revelation takes place
  472. nonrationally, so that there is an infinite silence in the mind, which has
  473. stopped conceptualizing. That which is witnessing and that which is
  474. witnessed take on the same identity; the observer dissolves into the
  475. landscape and becomes equally the observed. Everything is connected
  476. to everything else by a Presence whose power is infinite, exquisitely
  477. gentle, yet rock-solid.
  478. Great works of art, music, and architecture that calibrate between 600
  479. and 700 can transport us temporarily to higher levels of consciousness
  480. and are universally recognized as inspirational and timeless.
  481.
  482. Energy Levels 700-1,000: Enlightenment
  483.
  484. This is the level of the Great Ones of history who originated the
  485. spiritual patterns that countless people have followed throughout the
  486. ages. All are associated with divinity, with which they’re often
  487. identified. This is the level of powerful inspiration; these beings set in
  488. place attractor energy fields that influence all of mankind. At this level,
  489. there is no longer the experience of an individual personal self separate
  490. from others; rather, there is an identification of Self with Consciousness
  491. and Divinity. The Unmanifest is experienced as Self beyond mind. This
  492. transcendence of the ego also serves by example to teach others how it
  493. can eventually be accomplished. This is the peak of the evolution of
  494. consciousness in the human realm.
  495. Great teachings uplift the masses and raise the level of awareness of all
  496. of humanity. To have such vision is called grace, and the gift it brings is
  497. infinite peace, described as indefinable, beyond words. 1 At this level of
  498. realization, the sense of one’s existence transcends all time and
  499. individuality. There’s no longer any identification with the physical
  500. body as “me,” and therefore, its fate is of no concern. The body is seen
  501. as merely a tool of consciousness through the intervention of mind, its
  502. prime value that of communication. The self merges back into the Self.
  503. This is the level of nonduality, or complete Oneness. There is no
  504. localization of consciousness; awareness is equally present everywhere.
  505.
  506. Great works of art depicting individuals who have reached the level of
  507. Enlightenment characteristically show the teacher with a specific hand
  508. position, called mudra— wherein the palm of the hand radiates
  509. benediction—-this is the act of transmitting this energy field to the
  510. consciousness of mankind. This level of divine grace calibrates up to
  511. 1,000, the highest level attained by anybody who has lived in recorded
  512. history—to wit, the Great Avatars for whom the title “Lord” is
  513. appropriate: Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha, and Lord Jesus Christ.
