Other Metas is a community hosted by Smogon and Pokemon Showdown dedicated to the creation and development of metagames that change specific game mechanics. Popular metagames include Balanced Hackmons, Almost Any Ability, and STABmons, among many other metagames with smaller playerbases. Every month there are two other metagames given a spotlight, one “Other Metagame of the Month” which is voted on by community and one “Leaders’ Choice of the Month” which is picked by the moderators of the Other Metagames community. These metagames, along with the aforementioned metagames, are given a ladders each month for players to enjoy. Despite changing mechanics, these metagames adhere to the Smogon's standard tiering policies to keep them competitive. Other Metas also has an official Tournament Circuit, as well as two major team tours every year.
