Midgardia 09: Mirai vs Pamela

 The next day the events of the night before play over Mirai's head as she lies on her bed, Mewmew and FiFi curled up on her abdomen and by her head respectively. After that very weird encounter, of which all she got was the two women she saw in the castle before had come to try and take MewMew away, she told the three queens everything that happened when she summoned MewMew. Lohln told her what she already knew, from the encounter she had clearly summoned a Dreamer, a powerful type of Eldritch beng.

    "I guess," says Mirai talking outloud to her room, "That Rhudra lady must have had MewMew in an Eldritch seal and intended to use her for some super-villain invasion plan or something..."

   She pets MewMew, "Well...whatever, lets get breakfast started."

   MewMew and FiFi are bouncing about following Mirai downstairs.

   ******

   -Days come and go, with little more distractions than Albia stalking Luke, but insisting more on his taking her on what she thinks are normal dates...he doesn't seem to be resisting her advances besides being a tad shy. The day comes at last that they have all graduated from High School.

   That night Mirai lies back on her bed, MewMew playing with a small stuffed toy Mirai got her and FiFi being silly on the floor with a little ball with a bell in it.

   Mirai looks up at the ceiling, "its all over...and now...I have no idea what I am going to do with my life...I don't even have a job..."

   The doorbell rings, outside is a woman, not much taller than Mirai with long brown hair and wearing a buisiness suit. Mirai opens the door, "Miss Pamela,"

   Mirai knows her, she is a summoner that works along side her parents, and has looked exactly the same since Mirai was a little girl...and according to her mother since she was a little girl as well.

   "Mirai Takashi," says Pamela, "I am here on behalf of Lady Lohln to offer you a job."

   "Wha...huh..." stammers Mirai.

   "Do you accept the offer?" asks Pamela.

   "I...I don't..."

   "No?" asks Pamela, "a shame,"

   "No..." says Mirai, "I...I don't know what you're talking about...I...how'd you know I was..."

   "We have been keeping tabs on you Mirai the Summoner," says Pamela still standing outside, "I should probably start again, sorry, if I could come in."

  Pamela taps on the invisible barrier, "this is impressive work."

  "Come in," says Mirai, and Pamela is then able to pass through the barrier.

  "Now then," says Pamela, "Lady Lohln has sent me to offer you a job...as things currently stand you are set up to be offered a job by Lady Shahara at the same office as your parents...however since you not only acquired a mystic creature...but two at that, as well as the unusual events that occured as a result...especially given that one Shadow Vampire apparently intending to use your mystic creature to launch another foolish attempt at a vampire apocalypse...don't worry the 13 clans have been inquired about that matter, Lady Lohln has thought it best to offer you a job as a professional Summoner. I do believe I don't need to inform you that summoning is the most ancient art on our world, and is in fact how all the other monsters have come to live here in times before mundane history and its records."

   "Uh," starts Mirai, "I...guess so...yeah."

   "However," continues Pamela, "as I understand it you only have one battle to your record, an introductory battle with your grandmother. If you accept the offer I would need to test your abilities...especially as a master over multiple mystic creatures...and not simply multiple summons. Although if you accept my offer...both to battle...succeed the test, and the offer for the job I am also instructed to offer you my tutelage in the use of combat summoning to both aid your creature in battle and for uses outside the battle zone."

  MewMew and FiFi are hanging out on the coffee table observing all this, while pretending to be looking out a nearby window.

   "Um...so fast," says Mirai, "I...I guess I have to get into the game, so...I guess I have to say yes on the battle and..."

   "Excellent" says Pamela as everything goes dark and they both appear on the red grid in the dark battle zone.

   Pamela however is wearing white robes and holding a white staff with a spider like top holding a green orb.

  Mewmew does a double take at her.

  "Now then," says Pamela, "come forth Lupachnid and Kumira!"

  A grey with with solid green eyes, and green orbs between the eyes which are eyes themselves appears, as does a yellow and black striped spider the size of a cat that lands on Pamela's shoulder.

  "Lupachnid and Kumira," says Pamela, "I have had a contract with them for...a very long time now. I imagine this won't go as easy as with your grandmother and her Shadow Vampire, these two are ancient and require little instruction in battle. Do you agree to a multi-creature battle?"

   "Yes," says Mirai as they both vanish, leaving FiFi and Lupachnid on the field.

   Pamela calls out, "Lupachnid, humanoid form, and make the fight brutal and quick!"

  Lupachnid transforms into an athletic woman with short spikey grey hair, green eyes, a wolf's tail, and wolf claws and feet up to the elbow and knees. She focuses an electric blast between her claws and yells out, "Thunder Slash!"

   As she comes down, FiFi vanishes and in her place standing before Lupachnid is a naked attractive woman with a blue glowing aura around her, long blue hair waving about as though it were made of waves, and a stoic stare in her unblinking electric eyes.

   FiFi holds up four fingers, little blue dots on each tip and with the wave of her hand throws them before her. The slowly approach Lupachnid,

   "Electron Screen!" yells out FiFi, causing the blue dots to expand into large ball lightning spheres. Lupachnid leaps back.

   "Electric type," thinks Lupachnid, "Wander what order the child has given this elemental spirit...no matter, guess its time for...."

   There are alot of blue dots everywhere, and Lupachnid looks up to see FiFi in the air her palms out sending out thousands of them.

   "Sea of Electrons!" yells out FiFi as thousands of orbs appear forcing Lupachnid into the air.

   "Fast," says FiFi, "however,"

  She aims her palm out, "Thunder Cannon!" an electric beam like blast sends Lupachnid back.

  "Pamela," says Lupachnid telepathically, "she's holding back, she's very strong, may I suggest."

  Lupachnid calls forth a great grey electric sphere around herself and emerges as a house sized spider with wolf tail like blades along its side and back, with the head of a wolf with several green eyes. Its legs are like those of a tarantula.

  "Ew..." says Mirai, "wish I could just step on that."

   "Understood," says FiFi, "order to go easy taken back...order now...step on the bug."

  "What?" asks Lupachnid, "did you just repeat your summoner's order in the battle...hah...pathedic and..."

   She looks around, "where did you...oh shit!"

  Lupachnid barely dodges a giant blue boot like foot crashing down, a foot the size of a building. Looking up she sees a gargantuan blue armor bodies woman with glowing electric eyes, and hair like blue flames cascading down her back, with a pair of demon like horns floating about where her temples would be.

   "What...what is that?" asks Lupachnid.

  She leaps into the air and spews out a massive energy beam from her mouth, it has no effect.

  "Bug," says FiFi smacking Lupachnid into the grid from mid-air.

  Lupachnid is clearly hurt and vanishes in a green flash, the safety system of the battle zone. FiFi also vanishes, returning to her ferret form inside Mirai's command sphere (Perfect Sphere with additions for the battle zone).

   Pamela remarks for all to hear, "Okay...that was...unexpected, you have one of two battles won. At least you can have a half victory, I heard from Miss Yuki that this second one was something powerful...but wouldn't tell me more than that. Impressive. But the next battle...will be against your primary summon."

   MewMew appears in the grid and curls into a ball as if going to sleep, Kumira appears and quickly transforms into a giant spider with a white human mask like face ontop of the head with several red orb eyes along with the normal human placed ones.

   Kumira spews out a green acid that splashes around a forcefield around MewMew who just *yawns*.

   "Looks...weird," says Mirai, "also ew...MewMew...I think we need fire...and lots of it."

   MewMew smiles and transforms into her Shadow Vampire like form.

   "Now Kumira!" yells out Pamela.

  "Solar Bomb!" yells out Kumira spitting out a blue sphere.

  MewMew opens her cloak wings and engulfs the solar bomb, and nothing happens.

  "What?" says Kumira and Pamela together.

  "No vampire could..." starts Kumira.

  "Ancient Powers beyond the Stars," sings out MewMew, "in my true name I call forth the Dimension Walker!"

   A massive yellow and gold armored man appears, whose head is like a cylinder of metal plates and red slits, atop this thing that would be his head is a metal plated cow boy's hat. A red fiery galaxy appears in his hand, palm down, it spirals into a single point and turns into a giant red six-shooter gun.

   "Super Nova Six Shooter!" yells out the giant man as he cocks the fun and shoots out six rapid fire explosive red energy blasts. The coommand spheres muffle the sound and protect the occupants, Pamela however notices that MewMew has erected a Perfect Sphere around herself to withstand the blasts. Everything goes dark.

   They are in Mirai's house, a woman in a kimono with long black hair is beside Pamela, as is a fit woman with short shaggy grey hair wearing a pants suit.

   Pamela looks down at the table where MewMew appears to be *snickering*. Pamela looks down at it and says, "A summon...that performs summoning...rarely seen...and also.."

  She scowls at Mirai, "a cheap trick, I understood you were eager to learn how to summon and unsure of your talents...so you summoned a summoner...disapointing. I can teach you proper summoning..."

   Barking interrupts her, a small yellow puppy comes out from under a chair, it *whimpers* and then a small brown cowboy's hat materializes on its head, with holes for the dog's ears.

   It jumps up on the couch where it is tackled by FiFi and MewMew. Mirai sits down and the puppy walks over and licks her hand.

  "Hmm," says Mirai, "I think I'll name you....how about...Gene?"

  The puppy barks and licks her hand.

   "What is this?" asks Pamela surprised, "Is that?"

   She looks at Kumira who has a worried look in her eyes, "Yes...that is the attack summon..."

  "Mirai," says Pamela in less professional, more natural to what Mirai is used to from her tone, "How...what is going on here?"

   "My prize," says Mirai, "You know we can get new summons as prizes."

   Pamela watches the three mystic creatures playing in the girl's lap, "Yeah....you learn spells..for attack summons, assist summons, Mystic Monster temporary summons....not...new mystic creatures...how..."

   She looks at MewMew, "Hold on...Mirai...did you acquire FiFi the same way?"

   "Yep," says Mirai examining Gene's hat.

   "A summon...that not only summons others," thinks Pamela, "but can place them as mystic creatures linked to its own contract...like a minion master summon...only...these are clearly powerful summons themselves. So...that may be what the vampires were after...using a summon that can by pass the normal rules to bring more powerful creatures to this world...maybe even sneak them by as rogue Kaiju...sneaky vampires."

   A deep man's voice rings in her head, "You are a fool who thinks foolish things."

   She looks directly at the dog whose eyes were like swirling flames in darkness for a split second.

   "At any rate," says Pamela tapping her staff on the floor causing her clothes to return to normal as well as causing Lupachnid and Kumira to vanish...along with the staff its self, "I will leave my buisiness card with you Miss Mirai, you can rest on the offer."

   "No time for tea?" asks Mirai disapointed.

   "Afraid not," says Pamela with a weak smile, "I was ordered to have Lupachnid and Kumira overwhelm your summons and make you feel obligated to take up Lady Lohln's offer...she...I have to report back at once...I was kind of supposed to teleport you right to her office after your resounding loss to these two incredibly strong mystic creatures...they ended up coming across as weaklings...she probably won't be happy. Better to get this over with quick. Next time though."

   With that Pamela vanishes into thin air.

   ******

   Not long after in Lohln's office, the goddess Lohln has her hands on Pamela's head, reading her mind, viewing her memories of the battle and the aftermath. Nearby Echidaria and Shahara await the verdict.

   "Dear Goddess above all," whispers Lohln letting go.

   "Well," says Shahara, "what's the verdict?"

   "The Shadow Vampire," says Lohln, "is indeed a summoner...somehow by passing the summong laws to give the girl her heart's desire...small fluffy companions...in...I need to sit down this is beyond insane..."

   "Lady Lohln," says Pamela, "Lupachnid and Kumira...and myself, under-estimated their abilities....they didn't use their strongest attacks and..."

   Lohln puts up her hand, "Sahralia and Zahnon," says Lohln, "It is Sahralia and Zahnon,"

  "What?" asks Echidaria practically shaking, "You mean....avatars of them? Like in the attack spells, Sahralia Star Blast and Zahnon Solar Bomb...not..."

  "The entities themselves," says Lohln, "at least that's what it looked like...looked like I hope...otherwise..."

  She looks between them with a somber tone, "that means the very things even the Hexian War fools would never day have tried to summon, even in their darkest hour...are here on our planet...sitting in a girl's house...as a ferret and a dog....great goddess that sounds insane to say out loud, even for us."

   "calm down," says Shahara, "I sat on a beach just a few weeks ago watching that ferret playing around...I've seen both it and the girl's other pet. Don't forget, they have their full power in the battle zone, but not here, thanks to the obelisks."

   "Of course," says Echidaria, "Chaos destroyed one of them...to get at that fool Frad who had one of her Mana stones in his chest, powerful beings couldn't even enter our world...down by one it seems they can enter...but its likely their powers are weakend...after all...my father has been making some more apperances lately...and more solid than normal...but not really powerful...complaining in fact that his avatars are weaker than he likes, but as weak as those apparitions he had to use before."

   "come to think of it," says Lohln, "that Rhudra...she is Chaos' daughter according to Gel...I wander...Chaos may have destroyed one Obelisk...but they adapt to attacks...and she only was here while a portal was open...I wander if this summoner...if it was Rhudra's plan to use it to by pass the summoning laws and bring Chaos to this world."
