Osprey and Yang Episode 1

Apr WK1 2021

Today was the day which Ruby set off on her career as a Monster Trainer and she could barely contain her excitement as she walked into the Shrine in Ylisse with her friends, Rhiannon and Edelgard. Ruby is wearing a red/black cloak that covers her body with a beige jacket and a red shirt underneath it with blue jeans and black boots. Rhiannon, being a bit taller than her friends here, wears a black leather jacket with a white shirt that have a bright blue R on it with black jeans on that show off her curves as a 19 years old. Edelgard, being as short as Ruby is, wears a red hoodie and red jeans on with a black undershirt on and white sneakers. Each girl have a round object in their arms called disc stones. Ruby's stone was bright pink with green ridges, Rhiannon's stone was brown with red dragon scales on it here and there and Edelgard's stone was rocky grey with parts of it having some armor on it.

"GUYS THIS IS SO COOL, WE FINALLY GRADUATED AND A WEEK LATER HERE WE ARE IN THE YLISSTOL SHRINE TO UNLOCK OUR MONSTERS!!" Always the loud and cheerful one, Ruby couldn't take it much longer and begin to shake in place near the entrance as Rin chuckles and place a hand on her shoulder. "Easy there, short stuff. Let's take it down a notch." She look around and see some people there, some of which were their peers from the Altea Academy, staring at them. To which she glared back at them with some of them looking away in fear, lest they incur her wrath on them. She turn back to Ruby and Edelgard with a small smile. "People tend to stare too long..." She replies which Edelgard nods. "Agreed, it's rather rude..but I suppose everyone else here is nervous in their own way."

True to her word, many of the other new trainers here were doing things to keep them occupied before they were called up to get their monsters from reading books, to talking to others or even just pacing around. All of them holding their own disc stones with their own monsters locked inside. "I just can't take it anymore..." Ruby clutches her disc stone close to her body. "I wanna get started now!" "Wish we were born into royalty so we didn't have to wait so long..." Rhiannon mutters which her friends look at her confused where she glance at them with a raised eyebrow. "Oh, you guys didn't know? Royalty or nobles with enough status to their names can skip the waiting time and get their monsters early in the morning. It was all on the news this morning for our princess's first monster being a Centaur..."

"Just like the Hero-King of lore..." Edelgard whispers which Ruby's eyes widen as she continues.. "Can't say I'm shocked tho. Must had been a very long process to getting a Centaur disc stone." "Bah.." Rhiannon roll her eyes "Knowing her, she must had her daddy give her one from his connections as king..."

"Oh man...she got such a rare monster..." Ruby sighs as Rin continues on her with triade against the rich. "And to make matters worse, I bet she have tier-3 gadgets to use which make her monsters so much stronger...stupid bitch.." She sighs and breath in to control her anger as she adjust her glasses. "Sorry girls...I just get so heated thinking about Lucina.." "Understandable..she's...quite a person." Edelgard nods with a frown of her own, thinking back to her many encounters with the princess as Ruby shakes her head to remove the souring mood. "Hey girls, let's not think on the past and look towards the future! That future being our careers as great trainers!" She point towards the room that hides the Unlocking Machine where the doors finally opened up to let the trainers within out and to usher in the next ones.

Said trainers look like punk rockers with their attires and scowls on their faces as they walk out with 2 bipedal lion monsters known as Garu. The female have a pure one with red hair and blue fur covering his chest, wrists, and ankles with a tail that ends with a puff of red fur. The black male on the other hand had a black one called a Zabel that's mixed with a Zan. Giving it a more cyborg-like appearance with grey fur and black armor on it's body with deep red eyes as opposed to the pure one's blue eyes. Both Garues walked close to their trainers as they all went to the entrance. Before long, they got closer to it as the male stop and suddenly look at Ruby with a pondering look.

"....Um..." Ruby would admit that his glare was making her uncomfortable as her friends step in front of her with their own scowls. "Yes, how can we help you?" Rin speaks up with an edge to her voice as the male stopped the female with a hand on her shoulder and point to Ruby. "You're Ruby Rose, are you?" "Ye-yes...?" How did they know who she was? Who were they? "....Allright, just checking.." The male nods and tried to walk out before Rin call out to him. "Hey, who the hell are you?" The twins(Ruby only now noticed how similar they looked together) stopped and glanced at them as the female speak up while pointing between her and the male. "I'm Yang..and this here is Osprey." And then they walk out to the public with their monsters.

"What a bunch of jokers.." Edelgard shakes her head as she soon hears Ruby's name being called along with hers and Rin's. "Well, let's forget about them and go get our monsters!" Rin grin widely and fistpumps as Ruby continue to look out the door in her thoughts. "(Her name is similars to Dad's..and the male kinda look like him as well...what gives?)" "Ruby?" Rin call out to her with a confused look which Ruby shakes her head and smiles. "Nothing, let's go!" And the girls head on out to unlock their monsters.
Outside of the shrine, the twins are sitting down on a bench in the park with their monsters eating some slabs of meat on bones they brought while they themselves drink some bottles of water. ".....I think that was our sister, Yang." Osprey finally speaks up as Yang gulps down her drink and nods. "I think so too...which means dad was nearby."

"We could had spoken to him." Osprey lean back on the bench and crosses his arms with a frown. "Had we seen him, that is..." Yang grunts with agreement as she look around the park. "Oh well...we will get a chance to one day. Anyway..Mom said we need to buy some gadgets for our ranch." She gets up and toss her empty bottle to the trash can behind them as she snaps her fingers. "Kyo, let's go." Her Garu finish up his bone and throw it in the can and get up as Osprey look at his Zabel. "Iori, you ready?" Iori nods as he gets up along with Osprey as the twins walk off to find the gadget shop. "Sandbag, Tub, and Target." Osprey speaks out to Yang as they get to an intersection and wait for the cars to stop driving. "Yup..." She answers.
And thus, their adventure begins...
