  1. DM_tzivos
  2. -START-
  3. While Locke continues to search for the elusive SBURB website from which he obtained the game, one of the two prompts suddenly takes up his entire screen
  4. Lunlui's screen displays a young boy sitting at his computer in his room
  5. surrounding the edges of lunlui's screen are a variety of tabs, menus, and controls
  6. in the currently open menu, there's a list of large, mechanical devices on display
  7. AntagonistsHero
  8. ah: HEy, who are yOU?
  9. unyeildingRecreationalist
  10. You squint at the screen, vaguely remembering this strange creature... Oh, that's right! It's one of your human friends! Well, acquaintances, you suppose. You wouldn't say you've reached friendship status with any of them--after all, it takes a long time to cultivate a relationship, and you haven't known them as long as some of your other friends.
  11. So he's playing too...? You move your mouse around the screen, exploring the menu.
  12. DM_tzivos
  13. You can see names listed under the devices and a small captchalogue card that appears to have holes punched in it
  14. DM_tzivos
  15. The names listed:
  16. cruxtruder
  17. alchemiter
  18. totem lathe
  19. punch designix
  20. pre-punched card
  21. AntagonistsHero
  22. AH: SPeak to me neRD
  23. unyeildingRecreationalist
  24. Interesting. You click on Cruxtruder, and bring your mouse down behind the human. Is this... wait, are you about to create something in a real environment? No way. You click directly behind the boy as a message appears on your HuD.
  25. DM_tzivos
  26. there's just enough room to -squeeze- the cruxtruder in the space behind Locke
  27. unyeildingRecreationalist
  28. UR: You rang?
  29. AntagonistsHero
  30. AH: NO, i typED
  31. unyeildingRecreationalist
  32. UR: My apolog1es, I thought that was an express1on humans were fam1l1ar w1th
  33. UR: Anyways, um
  34. UR: There's a th1ng beh1nd you
  35. AntagonistsHero
  36. You turn around, and, surprise surprise, there is a huge thing behind you
  37. AH: OH, thIS
  38. AH: I Tottally forget what this is fOR
  39. AH: CAn you put down more stuFF?
  40. unyeildingRecreationalist
  41. UR: 1'm not even sure what 1'm do1ng over here
  42. UR: Maybe?
  43. You select the alchemiter, and try to find free space for it in the human hive.
  44. DM_tzivos
  45. as you drag your mouse across the screen, the camera follows closely and you can see an empty lounge room with enough space for the alchemiter and perhaps one more device
  46. unyeildingRecreationalist
  47. UR: Before 1 ru1n the astet1c of your abode any further
  48. UR: What was your name aga1n?
  49. AntagonistsHero
  50. AH: OH, it's LocKE. YOuRS?
  51. unyeildingRecreationalist
  52. UR: Lunlu1
  53. UR: 1 mean Lunlui
  54. UR: Well
  55. UR: You get the p1cture
  56. AntagonistsHero
  57. AH: I DO
  58. unyeildingRecreationalist
  59. UR: Sorry 1f 1 don't remember you from before
  60. UR: 1 haven't spoken much w1th any of you guys s1nce the reveal
  61. You set the alchemiter down in the lounge, close to the corner of the room so that there's more free space for another crazy object
  62. DM_tzivos
  63. it lands with a heavy *THUD* and Locke can feel the floor shaking slightly
  64. AntagonistsHero
  65. AH: NOr have I, never really contact anyoNE : /
  66. I go to the loungeroom
  67. you*
  68. DM_tzivos
  69. The lounge room is unaffected by the placing of the device, and everything is still in its original place
  70. unyeildingRecreationalist
  71. UR: Hope I didn't break anything
  72. AntagonistsHero
  73. AH: DOn't worry, the more things broken here the happier I'll BE
  74. You inspect the Alchemiter
  75. unyeildingRecreationalist
  76. UR: That's an odd th1ng to say
  77. UR: Why am 1 do1ng th1s again?
  78. DM_tzivos
  79. the alchemiter is a considerably massive device with a large, flat, elevated platform taking up the majority of the device's appearance and -presumably- function
  80. there is a smaller platform with a very large mechanical arm protruding from one of the devices corners
  81. the mechanical arms appears to be in an inoperable condition
  82. AntagonistsHero
  83. You put your arm in where the mechanical arm grabs
  84. DM_tzivos
  85. you're unable to reach the mechanical arm's mechanical hand, as the mechanical arm is at least twice as tall as you
  86. AntagonistsHero
  87. AH: I did this with someone else, but I was placing htings down, I completely forget the order of things and all that thouGH
  88. unyeildingRecreationalist
  89. UR: So they have th1s game on Earth too?
  90. AntagonistsHero
  91. AH: I'D suppose they do seeing as I'm playing it right nOW
  92. unyeildingRecreationalist

  95. AH: CAn you placce down more thinGS?
  96. unyeildingRecreationalist
  97. UR: 1'll just
  98. UR: Yeah
  99. You try to fit the totem lathe into the lounge as well.
  100. DM_tzivos
  101. The totem lathe fits surprisingly well into an empty space in the middle of the room
  102. it lands with a much lighter *thud*
  103. unyeildingRecreationalist
  104. While you wait for Locke to inspect it, you click and drag on a random item in the lounge.
  105. AntagonistsHero
  106. You inspect the totem Lathe
  107. DM_tzivos
  108. As locke inspects the totem lounge, he can see the clamps on either end of the device, the lever sitting below an empty card slot, and a very sharp needle sitting above the clamps
  109. while he does that, Lunlui finds that his mouse cursor is now locked onto a small vase
  110. unyeildingRecreationalist
  111. You try and see if you can move the object around with the mouse, bringing it closer to Locke.
  112. DM_tzivos
  113. roll acrobatics
  114. DM_tzivos
  115. Lunlui, roll acrobatics

  120. unyeildingRecreationalist
  121. ((Well fuck))
  122. DM_tzivos
  123. Lunlui accidentally drags his mouse across the screen and sends the pot careening towards Locke
  124. It hits him in the head and smashes into tons of tiny pieces
  125. Locke, take 2 damage
  126. AntagonistsHero
  127. "Holy shit, what the fuck"
  128. unyeildingRecreationalist
  129. ... Well. Fuck. Umm, maybe he'll think it wasn't you.
  130. AntagonistsHero
  131. AH: WHat the hell did you DO!

  145. AntagonistsHero
  146. AH: OH, oh, definetly, I know it was yOU
  147. DM_tzivos
  148. down in Locke's basement, he can see a faint, orange glow coming from under the cruxtruder's lid
  149. unyeildingRecreationalist
  150. You frantically select a pre punched card and try to set it down near Locke.
  151. DM_tzivos
  152. the pre-punched card drops next to Locke
  153. unyeildingRecreationalist
  154. UR: Look, 1t's my f1rst t1me at th1s, alr1ght?
  155. AntagonistsHero
  156. You attempt to open the Cruxtruder's lid
  157. AH: IT was my first time tOO. DOn't worry about IT
  158. DM_tzivos
  159. The lid looks loose, but in reality it is sealed tighter than government secrets
  160. AntagonistsHero
  161. You deploy some russians : 3
  162. You pick up the pre punched card and rush back to the loungeroom
  163. DM_tzivos
  164. the lounge room is in the same state as before, but now with shards of a vase on the floor
  165. unyeildingRecreationalist
  166. UR: 1'll try not to click th1ngs, 1 guess

  178. DM_tzivos
  179. the clamps move closer together and begin spinning rapidly as the needle descends
  180. unyeildingRecreationalist
  181. UR: What are you do1ng?
  182. DM_tzivos
  183. it only takes a few seconds, and then the clamps and needle move to their original positions
  184. AntagonistsHero
  185. You retrieve the card
  186. AH: HAve you placed down everythiNG?
  187. unyeildingRecreationalist
  188. UR: Let me check
  189. You look around the menu and place down a punch designix close to Locke.
  190. DM_tzivos
  191. there's no more room in the lounge for any other devices
  192. the device flashes red to signify this
  193. unyeildingRecreationalist
  194. UR: There's one more th1ng, but your h1ve 1s so small
  195. AntagonistsHero
  196. AH: It's a houSE

  205. unyeildingRecreationalist
  206. You look around the "house", find the fanciest room, and drop the punch designix there.
  207. DM_tzivos
  208. The punch designix lands almost softly in between an ornate wooden dresser and a king-sized bed with four large wooden posts on the corners hoisting an embroidered silk tapestry above the matress
  209. unyeildingRecreationalist
  210. UR: There, done
  211. AntagonistsHero
  212. You run to the bedroom

  221. DM_tzivos
  222. you hit the machine and your fist is sore
  223. unyeildingRecreationalist
  224. You respect the punch but find everything else about this human ridiculous.
  225. AntagonistsHero
  226. You inspect the machine
  227. unyeildingRecreationalist
  228. UR: Nice punch
  229. AntagonistsHero
  230. AH: CHeeRS
  231. DM_tzivos
  232. the machine looks like somewhat of a keyboard-piano hybrid, with slots for captchalogue cards, red and green lights, and a small keyboard situated on a small desk-space
  233. AntagonistsHero
  234. You play twinkle twinkile little star
  235. DM_tzivos
  236. the keyboard just makes a bunch of *clacking* noises as you slap the keys
  237. unyeildingRecreationalist
  238. UR: 1 am so lost r1ght now
  239. AntagonistsHero
  240. You put the card in hte slots for captchalogue cards
  241. AH: GOOD : 3
  242. DM_tzivos
  243. the card fits perfectly into the slot, and a red light starts blinking and *beep*ing
  244. unyeildingRecreationalist
  245. UR: And 1'm not gett1ng much enjoyment out of this game e1ther
  246. AntagonistsHero

  260. AntagonistsHero
  261. You notice the card slot, and pop the card inside
  262. unyeildingRecreationalist
  263. UR: And you're just as bad at phys1cal strength, 1t looks l1ke
  264. UR: Not that 1 don't apprec1ate the effort, but do you even l1ft?
  265. AntagonistsHero
  266. AH: YOu shut UP
  267. DM_tzivos
  268. you remember that you already went through the routine of inserting the pre-punched card into the totem lathe's slot
  269. AntagonistsHero
  270. You rememeber that you did
  271. You go the bedroom and inspect the Cruxtruder
  272. DM_tzivos
  273. the orange glow has gotten much stronger, and you can see a valve to turn and what looks like an inactive timer on the side of the device
  274. the lid looks like it'd be easy enough to remove with some kind of force
  275. AntagonistsHero
  276. You try and turn the valve
  277. DM_tzivos
  278. You can turn the valve a few inches before you're unable to turn it any further, and you hear a little *bump* coming from under the lid
  279. AntagonistsHero
  280. You look at the lid
  281. unyeildingRecreationalist
  282. UR: Your form 1s terr1ble
  283. UR: 1 need to send you some we1ghts
  284. DM_tzivos
  285. the orange glow, brighter than before, continues to leak from underneath the lid
  286. AntagonistsHero
  287. AH: EW, weighTS?
  288. unyeildingRecreationalist
  289. UR: You know
  290. UR: For l1ft1ng

  296. AntagonistsHero
  297. You go outside
  298. AH:YES
  299. unyeildingRecreationalist
  300. UR: Yeah, that's probably for the best
  301. DM_tzivos
  302. Locke is now outside, and he notices it's a warmer-than-average day
  303. unyeildingRecreationalist
  304. You start to look around for something to grab, then, thinking about it, try to pop open the lid with your cursor
  305. DM_tzivos
  306. the cursor is unable to lock on to the lid
  307. AntagonistsHero
  308. AH: I Haven't done weights since, well since I was born I gueSS
  309. unyeildingRecreationalist
  310. Alright, back to plan B: Find something heavy and knock it against the lid.
  311. UR: You did weights as a ch1ld?
  312. AntagonistsHero
  313. That was plan A
  314. unyeildingRecreationalist
  315. Plan C then
  316. AntagonistsHero
  317. AH: NO, I'm saying that I'v never done thEM

  320. UR: Anyways, hope you don't m1ss whatever th1s 1s
  321. DM_tzivos
  322. with a little looking, Lunlui finds a suitably heavy-looking box from Locke's parents' room
  323. unyeildingRecreationalist
  324. > Lunlui: Hit that shit
  325. DM_tzivos
  326. >Lunlui: Roll acrobatics

  331. unyeildingRecreationalist
  332. (How did I know that would happen)
  333. DM_tzivos
  334. the heavy box goes flying through the air and hits the lid perfectly
  335. AntagonistsHero
  336. (lol good shit)
  337. DM_tzivos
  338. the lid goes flying and cruxite dowels begin to follow it
  339. unyeildingRecreationalist
  340. UR: Woah
  341. UR: What's all this
  342. AntagonistsHero
  343. AH: WHat's happeniNG?
  344. unyeildingRecreationalist
  345. UR: 1 got 1t open and stuff came out
  346. AntagonistsHero
  347. AH: IS it safe to go back insiDE
  348. DM_tzivos
  349. after the dowels stop flying out, a small kernelsprite slowly floats out of the cruxtruder's now open tube
  350. a timer begins counting down
  351. 11:11
  352. unyeildingRecreationalist
  353. You click on the sprite.
  354. AntagonistsHero
  355. You stroll back inside guessing that UR has thrown opened the lid
  356. DM_tzivos
  357. you're unable to click on the sprite. The cursor flashes red and the game makes a *BEEP*
  358. unyeildingRecreationalist
  359. UR: See for yourself
  360. AntagonistsHero
  361. You go to the basement
  362. DM_tzivos
  363. Strolling back inside and into the basement, Locke can see his basement abode's floor is littered with orange cruxite dowels
  364. the kernelsprite lazily floats in the air and begins to follow Locke
  365. AntagonistsHero
  366. "Good, what is that thing?"
  367. You pick up one of the cruxite dowels
  368. DM_tzivos
  369. it's a very smooth, cylindrical object seemingly made out of some kind of crystalline material
  370. unyeildingRecreationalist
  371. UR: 1'd ask what that orb th1ng 1s, but you probably wouldn't g1ve me a stra1ght answer
  372. AntagonistsHero
  373. AH: I Actually completely forgET
  374. unyeildingRecreationalist
  375. UR: There's a t1mer, too

  378. AntagonistsHero
  379. You go to the Alchemiter
  380. unyeildingRecreationalist
  381. UR: And of course, all those crazy cyl1nders on the ground
  382. DM_tzivos
  383. The alchemiter is just sitting there
  384. unyeildingRecreationalist
  385. ((MENICINGLY))
  386. AntagonistsHero
  387. You fit the cruxite dowel in the mechanical arm
  388. DM_tzivos
  389. once again, the mechanical arm is currently inoperable and far too tall to meaningfully interact with
  390. AntagonistsHero
  391. You inspect the Alchemiter again
  392. DM_tzivos
  393. the small and large platform are both adorned with an identical spirograph pattern which is familiar
  394. the small platform looks like the perfect size for the dowel
  395. AntagonistsHero
  396. You place the dowel on the small platform
  397. DM_tzivos
  398. it sits there and nothing special happens
  399. Locke - roll perception
  400. AntagonistsHero
  401. !roll 1d20+-1
  402. @Tyche[Dice]
  403. (1d20+-1) [11+-1] : {10}
  404. DM_tzivos
  405. It's starting to feel even warmer than before and you think you can hear some faint noises coming from outside, but you're not sure
  406. you remember the totem lathe had an open space that's probably for cruxite dowels
  407. AntagonistsHero
  408. you place the Dowel inside
  409. DM_tzivos
  410. the dowel fits perfectly in between the clamps
  411. 8:00
  412. unyeildingRecreationalist
  413. UR: The t1mer 1s at 8:00
  414. UR: What even happens when 1t reaches zero?

  416. AH: I Know, just thinkiNG
  417. AH:NOt suRE
  418. You place the card inside the totem lathe and pull the lever
  419. unyeildingRecreationalist
  420. You look around the house, tired of these aimless shenanigans, and try to see how far you can get the camera to scroll.
  421. DM_tzivos
  422. As Locke pulls the lever, after having inserted the pre-punched card into its slot, the clamps tighten and begin spinning rapidly as the needle descends and begins to carve away at the dowel
  423. Lunlui finds that he can get the camera to follow him to just a dozen or more meters beyond Locke's house
  424. Lunlui - roll perception
  425. unyeildingRecreationalist
  426. !roll 1d20+1

  431. unyeildingRecreationalist
  432. This house is booooooooring.
  433. AntagonistsHero
  434. Can I pick up the dowel yet
  435. unyeildingRecreationalist
  436. To keep sane, you try to practice moving stuff with the box downstairs, very, very slowly.
  437. DM_tzivos
  438. after a brief moment, the needle finishes its work and the clamps loosen their grip
  439. 5:00
  440. AntagonistsHero
  441. You pick up the dowel and the card, and go the punch designix
  442. DM_tzivos
  443. Lunlui finds that the box has broken apart after using it to open the lid
  444. in its place are a slew of notes and small trinkets
  445. Locke sees that everything is still in order in his parents' bedroom
  446. unyeildingRecreationalist
  447. You try and see if you can select or read one of the notes. Maybe there's a zoom function...
  448. AntagonistsHero
  449. You inspect the Punch designix
  450. DM_tzivos
  451. There is, indeed, a zoom , however, Lunlui is unable to zoom in far enough to read the notes
  452. Locke sees that the punch designix hasn't changed since he last tried playing with it like a child
  453. AntagonistsHero
  454. You place the card in the slot again
  455. DM_tzivos
  456. the red light begins to flash and you hear the same *BEEP* as before
  457. unyeildingRecreationalist
  458. UR: 1 th1nk 1'm start1ng to hate th1s game
  459. unyeildingRecreationalist
  460. You lazily move the camera around the house, glancing at the various rooms, trying to find something interesting to look at other than Locke's mini-adventure.
  461. AntagonistsHero
  462. I go to the Alchemiter
  463. DM_tzivos
  464. It sits there, waiting to be useful
