Underneath a not too impressive run down mansion, Hopeful Research Institute's testing chambers run deep underground. Birth place of at least two marvellous new technologies: The first is the portal gun, a device that can link two holes in the fabric of space together, the applications of which haven't even been fully explored yet. The second is advanced sentient AI's created from templates of real people. The applications of which also haven't been fully explored leading to almost wasteful uses. Perhaps this was why the most powerful AI responsible for the whole facility rebelled and killed nearly everyone with neurotoxin. The neurotoxin wasn't a new marvellous new technology. Nobody knows why they had so much of it stockpiled. Now there are only a handful of survivors, almost all from a group of students on the special "Super highschool enriched learning" program.

--Robots--
Jilldos: Robotic overseer of the test facility with a seemingly nurturing care for the AI's and test subjects under her care but not as benevolent as she first seems.
Preston: Idiotic personality core created in one of the attempts to restrict Jillians growing power. Jillian is hardcoded not to harm him but had no probablems ejecting him from the core and putting him in his place.
Zeke: Morality core created to stop Jillian from pumping neurotoxic gas only her standards were too high and judged everyone guilty. Neurotoxic has output increased.
Savannah: Resident Turret AI! She loves her job! Being a turret and getting to shoot stuff is the best! She hates the cold sterile walls of the centre, painting them red is so much better!
Furby: Companion cube given to many of the test subjects. Also used to keep Preston entertained and out of Jillian's way.
D Bonney: Defective Turret AI that got phased out, although like savannah loves her job.
Donna: AI of the radio that isn't noticed until one of the test subjects carries her through the spray of a burst water pipe.


--Test subjects--
Astrid: Responsible for paranoid writings on wall. Found holded up in a safe spot thinking everyone else is just part of the death trap test. Way too good at surviving the tests.
Roy: Responsible for poetry written on the walls. Also holed up in a spot near Astrid. They send each other regular notes with their portal guns but refuse to leave their spots and have thus never met in person.
Rocky: Responsible for encouraging writings on the wall and a large number of broken machines around the place. Current whereabouts unknown.
Abel: Actually enjoys the tests and may be the favorite test subject except he isn't as fun to torment as some of the others
Kaydence: Good physical condition and hand to eye coordination makes her good at completing some tests but ends up giving up on others. Easily led around by Jillian.
Kichirou: Oh boy does not like the tests at all and is probably only alive because of sheer hatred towards Jillian and a determination to end her.
Joel: Similar to Kaydence as a test subject
Clarisa: How good is a Portal Gun for someone in a wheelchair? Pretty good it turns out. It's a good job the place is so deserted so nobodies bothered by her lack of an indoor voice
