  1. [00:11] Dun would approach the apartment building where his old workshop had lain, clicking his teeth together with an idle hum as he mulled over the matters at hand before approaching Scarlett.
  2.
  3. "Right, evening Scarlett. During our visit to Uraheim, I got a bad case of a frozen heart. There is rather severe damage of the sorcerous and frostbite sort all over what remains of my already crippled aorta. Needless to say, your grandmother did surgery on my heart once, I will need you to do it the second time."
  4.
  5. The elder of the Fireblooded would remove his cloak and armor, revealing the heavily scarred, muscled frame of the elder priest as well as the hole that went through his chest front to back. The metal casing and glass lense over his heart was clearly covered in a layer of frost, as if actually frozen to the core by the elemental powers of uraheim.
  6.
  7. "If you could give Revan some lessons here while you treat the tissue damage with some heat and tender loving care, it would be most appreciated.{
  8. (Dun Task)
  9. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  10.
  11. [00:11] {Item} You drop Trauma Kit.
  12. [00:15] Listening to his father debrief the ninja medic on his condition, he would present the tools necessary for the operation- kindly provided by Mr. Silverbane here.
  13.
  14. Hearing that her grandmother was a medic that had already worked on his heart, Revan would be amazed and find immediate trust in the woman if his Father would entrust her to do the same.
  15.
  16. "I would greatly appreciate it.. I will stay out of your way, and observe closely.. Asking questions if I do not follow your methodology." He would say, pausing as he remembered his earlier lesson, trying to think ahead of any questions she would ask.
  17.
  18. "I know little to no magic, honing my body as a weapon.. Though like Father, I do posses the ability to convert my mana into raw energy.. If that would help for this."
  19. (Revan Task)
  20. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  21.
  22. [00:18] Urist meanwhile was just standing by, watching over the old man with a surprising level of concern given his generally stony demeanor towards.... basically everyone else.
  23.
  24. "I ain't O'any use S'a medic 'less medicine involves a lot more chuckin' o'rocks than I thought it did." Urist would say. "Just here T'keep an eye on Th'elder. N'maybe witness what Y'lot actually do with them kit's o'fiddly bits."
  25. (Urist Silverbane)
  26. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  27.
  28. [00:27] "Ah.. right my mother was a great medic.. she left her little notes for me inside of a vault of things I needed to know and what not.."
  29.
  30. So she naturally had the skill of a medic and soon enough as the kit was handed over to her it was taken and opened up. Slowly seeing the tools that she would need to crave into the chest and open it up so that she could see the heart.
  31.
  32. Looking over to the others around the room she would offer them a brief smile as a greeting which followed with a singular nod of the head.
  33.
  34. "So you need a lesson pretty much? Observing will be fine just keep you're eyes peeled and what not.
  35.
  36. Energy magic? I've never seen it in action myself really but I know that: Time, nature, bone magic... and other things to aid in the human body's regeneration speed will definitely be of use for treating wounds and fatal injuries."
  37.
  38. Taking a little injection and putting it into Dun's neck so that he wouldn't feel the pain since she had to cut through many layers of the skin so that she could see the heart..
  39.
  40. Taking the scalpel and pinpointing the exact area where the heart was slowly but surely craving a little square over and over again till the layers of the skin was removed and seeing within side of the heart through layers of blood slowly leaking from the pectoral muscle.
  41.
  42. "Blood, blood, blood.."
  43.
  44. Everywhere but all she needed to see was the heart. Seeing how it was wrapped around in a shroud of ice magic and slowly taking a single finger and heating up the layer of magic around it to dispel it...
  45.
  46. Slight flames were used to melt it slowly.. but surely so that she wouldn't fuck with the heart. However after that was done? Nothing would be left but the heart itself.. the ice magic around it was gone and taking mithril lineage to connect the nerves of anything lost back onto the heart of the veins... a solid blood flow was seen with the connection of mithril keeping it together.. And slowly picking away with little metal tongues taking away the frostbites that was onto the heart.
  47.
  48. Each little shard of ice was removed carefully..
  49.
  50. Hands reached out and slowly taking a white cloth to clean away the blood that spilled slightly. After that was done.
  51.
  52. She used time magic to regenerate the layers of skin lost quickly within a mere instant of healing Dun..
  53.
  54. "There... that's.. a very long and gruesome process..
  55.
  56. However for a frozen heart not much can be done about this... luckily my fire magic and time magic aided in this process heavily.."
  57. (Scarlett Kurokaiyo)
  58. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  59.
  60. [00:42] Golden hues would be fixated on her hands as she worked, listening closely to the words she said. Picking out his pen, he would begin taking notes on the school of magic that would aid most in his journey to become a medic- sadly, none of them were ones he possessed.
  61.
  62. He would observe as she applied an anesthetic, or that's what he assumed. Make your patient comfortable. He would remember from his earlier lesson. Watching as she made the initial incision, he would cant his head to the side curiously as she just let the blood flow, not attempting to stop it.
  63.
  64. He was curious as to why she did this, but he didn't want to stop her to ask the question as she mumbled blood over and over to herself, as she searched for the heart. Peering into the window she had created in his Father's chest, he would begin making diagrams of what he saw, sternum, ribcage, lungs, ah, there was the heart, coated in ice just as his father said.
  65.
  66. Watching her conjure her fire magic to dispel the ice, he would remember that Bo had told him he could potentially use his energy magic to run hot- potentially being able to substitute it in this situation- or one similar.
  67.
  68. Though it seemed excessive damage was done to the heart that would call for the mithril prosthetic to be attached. he would take a detailed, step by step instruction of how she attached it, leaving plenty of detail for him to draw at a later date.
  69.
  70. As she wiped off the blood and was nearing the end of the surgery, his jaw would drop as Scarlett turned the hands of time back, making it like she never made an incision at all... So that's why she was so direct with her methods. That was something the young task would not be able to replicate.. And probably why his Father came to her specifically.
  71.
  72. ".. I see." He would say, a very gruesome process indeed. ".. I suppose for me I would have to be quick handed inopening his chest, dealing with the ice and replacing the heart.. Then cauterizing as needed to close him up." He would offer an alternative for a less-magical approach.
  73. (Revan Task)
  74. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  75.
  76. [00:48] Dun would remain passive and silent with steady grimaces of pain throughout the process of the heart surgery, his nerves well experienced to such immense injury before. In a way, this was catharsis, a literal way to channel his heartache for Rinn's demise. It would never cease to haunt him.
  77.
  78. "Fine work. Just a bit more frozen tissue around the heart, and I should be somewhat less closer to dying. A smidgen."
  79.
  80. The elder would nod steadily, remaining static as his heart was heated and cut as need be for the great good of his cardiac function. He might be mostly metal, but he did still have a pretty reasonable use for blood.
  81. (Dun Task)
  82. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  83.
  84. [00:55] "Next.."
  85.
  86. It seemed that Dun's skin was suffering from more frostbitten damage as well. Halting his movements speed as well which was such a terrible fate for an Oldman.
  87.
  88. Though with more methods that wouldn't really need a kit.. but rather instead just some basic work to remove the little shards that stuck out of the skin.
  89.
  90. Work.. it definitely was a draining and time consuming process.
  91.
  92. "And yes.. those that lack the sufficient magic to deal with things to like this would have it much harder.. you must be quick and accurate with ever move as time counts and its ticking on you're side.."
  93.
  94. For Scarlett? She could perhaps make a few mistakes here and there since Time magic was on her side. More muscle work and first since that the injection was still flowing through his veins.
  95.
  96. He wouldn't feel the pain.
  97.
  98. Craving, and craving into the skin once more and removing more of the slight crystalsherself..
  99.
  100. A more quick handed method was shown by hand for him.
  101.
  102. Just like what Dun had said.
  103.
  104. More work that needed to be done so that he was less closer to death. Scalpel work being shown at its finest cutting through areas that were clearly blue on the body.
  105.
  106. Heating up small areas as well to ease the skin and rewind it back into its original form.
  107.
  108. "More scalpel work.."
  109.
  110. And finally? She'd close up the wounds by hand Stitching them rather than using her time magic to instantly closing it up. She didn't mind it right now.
  111.
  112. The needle went through the skin, going over and under sealing away the opened wounds of the muscles that were tended to on the body. Another cloth was taken as shw wiped away the blood as well from the parts of his body. Arm, chest, shoulders.. all the area's that suffered till he was as good as new.
  113.
  114. "You should all good now... How do you feel.."
  115.
  116. A question was asked and a glance to Reven seeing if he understood or had anything to ask.
  117. (Scarlett Kurokaiyo)
  118. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  119.
  120. [01:08] It was odd for a son to give his father a scolding look, how long had he gone with these injuries untreated? He could only take it as a testament to the strength of a master magi, one that he held in the highest regard. Though- was this the reason he seemed slower, why their training seemed to have become further and further apart?
  121.
  122. He would have to dash that thought as the lesson continued on. There was significantly more tedium in this one, though it seemed that was the work of a medic. It was either difficult, or monotonous and time consuming.. Most of the time both.
  123.
  124. After a few of the shards had been removed, he would get the foundation of it, watching as she chose to stitch him up by hand- a valuable technique Revan would surely have to practice on his own.
  125.
  126. Putting the finishing touches on his notes, he would look back up, inspecting the finished product, then back to Scarlett. He had a decent understanding of the body, rudimentary, though the latter lesson seemed quite basic.
  127.
  128. "That didn't seem to terrible.. Time consuming.. Though I appreciate you showing me a more hands on approach." he would say most gratefully. "And thank you, I can certainly see why Father came to you for this matter- I doubt there are many doctors on this continent that could've done as good as job as you."
  129. (Revan Task)
  130. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  131.
  132. [01:10] Scarlett Kurokaiyo says, "No problem. You'll grow to be a fine medic."
  133. [01:12] Revan Task says, "Thank you, miss, I will do my best. "
