VC Japanese thingy and General Any% FAQ

So basically you can start Distribution (ICE CREAM MISSION) while on Hit the Courier (PW2) and then cancel Distribution (ICE CREAM MISSION) and then you will instantly complete the Cherry Poppers asset.
This means you can skip boatyard and this will save around three and a half minutes. However, there's a catch.
This normally crashes the game. One way to get this to work is to get a German Green Pepper version of the game.
However there is another catch. That version has no rampages normally. The only way to utilise this and still save time overall is to replace the gta-vc.exe with a non-German one to restore rampages (and blood and other useless things). This version-mixing thing, as we have decided, should not be allowed.

However, there is yet another catch. This works on the Japanese version of the game! This version includes rampages and the ICE CREAM MISSION insta-pass, and some censoring with the phone calls which would save a few seconds in that aspect too. The only downside is that you have to use cop car / taxi strats for getting the rampage replay at the start, but the ~3:30 overall time-save is totally worth it imo. If you want to obtain this version, buy it. If you don't want to pay a lot of money/wait for it to ship, look it up or ask around.

Q: Why do you need a cop car at the start?
A: In case you weren't around for the post-duping but pre-language change strat back in August 2014, we used to get a cop car/taxi to start the side-mission to make the rampage disappear instead of using language censorship to do so. Since there is only one language in the Japanese version (take a wild guess), we have to revert to these really dumb strats for the beginning of the game.

Q: Why not use a taxi?
A: It's slower than a cop car by about 10-15 seconds because you don't get a shotgun and you have to go get the fixed spawn by the bench. I'd take a taxi in a race though.

Q: Why do you keep going to the ice cream van and teleporting and stuff?
A: This is faster than the old Print Works duping. Instead of that, we just do the Cherry Poppers insta-pass 5 times in a row, by using phone calls to trick the game into thinking you're not on a mission instead of rampages (like at the start of the game), since phone calls also remove markers from the map and act as a mission in that sense.

Q: How did you even get 5 stars on Cop Land without doing anything?
A: Because I warped out of the mall after Shakedown and the game thinks I'm in the mall without a cop outfit, and I got 5 stars because of that. Don't ask me why that happens, since that's just a part of the mission script.

Q: This is stupid!
A: That's not even a question. Anyway, speedrunners do things that are faster even if they're stupid.
